Bathrooms are clean, great selection inside, so cute and homey!
Walking into this old general store with soft music playing. They had fresh brewed coffee, a cappuccino machine, homemade bakery items, a bait refrigerator, fishing supplies, some hats and t-shirts, lottery tickets, and various grocery items. They also serve up pulled pork and chicken, which is cooked on the premises. It's a busy little market with folks going in and out for gas and various needs in the store. Outside the store are places to sit, restrooms, and Melody's Porch, serving up ice cream and coffee. Whether you're touring around or a local, this is a great little place to stop. Look for the pretty painted roof & building on the right on 55, just north of Strasburg.
Pulled pork or chicken bbq is really wonderful. And friendly folks. And very nice outdoor seating area. I always stop here if i am traveling by.
What an amazing treasure we discovered traveling between Roanoke and Washington dc when we stopped for gas! They have recently renovated the incredibly clean bathrooms and created an amazing place to relax in their outdoor seating Cafe and library! Inside is much more than a convenient store, and they are so friendly! The owners have painted the exterior and decorated every empty space with wonderful, relaxing art and natural scenery. They even have wonderfully sothing music playing!
The food is always amazing and fresh. Highly recommended stop if you are passing through to hike or something. Pulled pork and egg sandwiches are great
Has pretty much everything you could need awesome place!
Great store.
New Star Market located on Rt 55 in Strasburg has the best pulled pork bbq in the area! It’s a quaint convenience store that features homemade goods, honey, beer, ice and gas! Staff is friendly and offers great service. It’s definitely worth the stop on your way to Star Tannary, Wardensville or heading out to West Virginia. Melody’s Porch features icecream and has nice outdoor seating.
Superb pulled pork sandwiches!
Lovely atmosphere with helpful staff. The food is great and the attached businesses provide a peaceful stop on any journey. Be sure to check them out!
So many different options. Their bubble tea is the best I’ve had.
Highly suggested spot to stop and stay while you're doing your cross country commuting! They have great barbecue food and a wide variety of selections for everyday needs inside. Super friendly staff and owner
Fun pit stop! Yummy Korean BBQ. Homemade baked goods. Salt water taffy!
I’ll give 4 stars for customer service. Driving back to NJ from NC, stopped for gas and saw a bbq. I don’t normally get bbq at a gas station but looked at the reviews and saw 4.5 so I tried it. I got a quarter rack of ribs and half a chicken. Chicken was dry and I cut into the ribs, I didn’t try them. They just didn’t look right and when I smelled it, it smelled Gamie. Disappointed but the people are nice.
Delicious BBQ and beautiful porch to eat on. A true gem that you need to try.
Quality gas station
They are offering amazing Korean BBQ on Saturday
There’s always one or more people not wearing masks in here but I risk my life and go in anyway cause the food is so good. It’s an eclectic selection of barbecue, fried rice and a whole bunch of other local stuff, plus a great seating area to relax. Long live New Star Market!
Fate would have it that Craig recovered by fallen bike. I'm forever grateful, thank you. By chance we discovered a true destination stop on our way to Deep Creek and Thomas, WVA. Super cool spot with a Zen porch, excellent smoked BBQ, homemade baked goods and homemade kimchi. Great vibe, warm folks. A must stop from now on, whether we need gas or not!!
Great service and great bbq! We loved the pulled pork sandwich
