This place is a gem! Coffee is absolutely awesome and they are able to educate the consumer on their products.
This is an example of exactly the kind of business I love to support. The owner clearly is in this for his own enjoyment and passion and we get to reap the rewards! You will be very hard pressed to find better fresh beans in Virginia. My weekend trips to the farmers market wouldn't be complete with out a stop at the roaster.
Really good coffee and lovely staff♡
To me one of the simple pleasures in life is a great cup of coffee to start the morning. So to sit here with an Italian Roast Sumatra Gayo Mandiri from Grains of Sense takes me back to Italy where I so remember the best coffee. I like the fact the owner Tom roasts all the coffee and they are free trade certified and responsibly grown. Very important to me. I highly recommend and at this point I would say support local, small businesses, but I would also recommend those perusing the website from near and far to not hesitate ordering!

This is where I buy my coffee. Best roaster in town with a variety of roasts and blends. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Coffee is phenomenal.
Best coffee in Lynchburg. Locally roasted; you can buy a steaming cup snd buy the beans to brew at home. The owner and staff welcome you with Southern hospitality.

Great Coffee, store and staff. Most knowledgeable and willing to assist with purchasing, shipping, and just plain sipping. Great place for a cup and conversation. If you are looking for a really great cup of coffee you got to make this place your destination in Lynchburg Virginia. You will come back again and again. Just saying to try it is to love it.
I truly believe that this is the best coffee in Lynchburg! Tom is so knowledgeable and personable every time I go into the shop to visit. Because of Grains of Sense, I honestly stopped buying store bought coffee because it wasn't the same. Highly recommend checking out this little shop any time you're downtown!
Great coffees
The owner is almost always there and is always willing to talk about what you might like. One of their best blends is their Thomas blend. Their small shop smells fantastic and the prices are very good for a local coffee roaster. They also sell tea!
This place is awesome. I got a bag of the Italian Roast because the cup I bought was so good. Tom's very friendly and knowledgable about his trade. My wife was able to try some tea and she said she enjoyed it aswell. Will be back again!
By far this is the best selected, blended, and roasted coffee I have found. If you're looking for a friendly artisan roaster whose craft is his passion, look no further! Tom's great service and quality coffee raise the (coffee) bar! He ships too, so don't be afraid to try his coffee even if you don't live near the 'Burg.
Man I love this place. Tom will remember your name and is always friendly and ready to help. Definitely a hidden gem of Lynchburg. Open during the week too which is super convenient. Good prices and great variety. BY FAR the best roaster in Lynchburg. Keep it up!
