Large space and a modern aesthetic! For a Monday morning it was pretty busy. There was a line but it moves fast. Lots of pastry and breakfast sandwich options available. I got their strawberry almond croissant and an iced mocha. Both were good! Inside they have several plants for sale and even propagated second chance plants available as well which I loved. There’s a good amount of seating available but most was taken; it’s clearly a popular spot. There’s a free parking lot in the back which is helpful too.

We were so disappointed. We love supporting local businesses and unfortunately this one missed the mark in a big way. We showed up 7 minutes before close and the entire staff pretended like they didn’t see us. We had to ask to order. Then, they said they had cleaned and shut everything down for the day. And then looked at us like we were crazy for even being there. Lol! So, we probably won’t try this spot again. I get it, I’ve worked in the hospitality/service industry for 15+ years and at the end of the day, you just want to go home. But you also know as someone that works in the industry that you don’t shut everything down until you close. Rookie mistake. It’s hospitality, your guests come first. All we wanted was black coffee - hot, cold, room temp - literally anything to pick us up before a pottery painting date. (Right around the corner - THAT business, I do recommend.) Can’t really be too upset because it is just coffee at the end of the day, but this was just a disappointing experience.

Great local coffee shop in downtown Falls Church. We’ve been talking about coming here for years and it completely lived up to expectations. Line will be out the door on Farmers Market Saturdays.

This is my favorite coffee shop in NOVA. They take their coffee quality very seriously and it shows. We go here almost every weekend and the place has never not delivered on exactly that, plus their breakfast sandwiches and pastries are great too. All of their syrups are made in-house so their lattes are fantastic, and their nitro cold brew, drip, and pour over are also top tier. Staff is super friendly too. Gets crowded on weekends but that's to be expected. Definitely go here if you drink coffee.

Great atmosphere, friendly service. Enjoyed my visit. Free parking in the larger lot behind the building, make sure you check the note on the back entrance to ensure you have parked in the right area.

Loved the vibe, loved the house made chai, they do their own roasting and the barista was helpful and knowledgeable- would get again!

Place is great if you want to buy locally roasted beans to make coffee at home, especially the Colombian and Mexican varieties. The cold brew is pretty decent, but none of the barristers have no idea how to make decent coffee. The espressos are done with ratios all over the place and are overwhelmingly bitter. Believe me, I've tried their coffees numerous times and am always disappointed and actually kind of confused because everything else about the place is perfect, especially the pastries!

Delicious coffee, great service, and a spacious vibe that invites me to linger. The quality of the coffee was perfect. I look forward to going back!

I love going to this spot!! Anytime I have guests I take them here; it’s such a vibe! I love the lattes. I usually order an egg and cheese on a biscuit and love that; it’s a huge sandwich. I’ve gone here to chat with friends or to get work done solo. Parking is limited but I’ve never had a problem finding it.

Best coffee in Northern VA. I travel the world and get coffee everywhere. They could increase how late they are open that’s my only complaint. Staff is friendly as well. Atmosphere is solid. All staples of a good coffee shop.

The best cafe in the DC area: great coffee, ambience, service, baked goods. Love the local art on the walls.

Rare Bird has always had a nice vibe and it’s definitely gotten better over the last year. They’ve expanded, and now have a ton of additional seating space, both inside and out, plus a nice area for their roasting. Their food options have expanded but I haven’t tried too many of them. Looks like they have primarily small snacky pasties. I tried the chocolate chip cookie once and I don’t remember hating it ... or loving it. But they are primarily a COFFEE shop so that is why I visit. Their coffee is def the star of the show. If you like a good latte, I can def recommend theirs. Looks like they use local milk in glass bottles - which is a good sign to me. I feel like they def have a quality product. Nice staff! March 2023 update: woof! The pastry options have expanded greatly and I’m really impressed! I’ve had the chocolate and plain croissants - some of the best I’ve had in this area. Pair great with a Latte!

Overall a nice place to get a light snack/drink. Staff is friendly, but the wait can be a bit long. Pricey for what you get and the parking can be a major pain during weekends or other prime times.

Excellent experience, pleased to find kouign amann here as it is my favorite pastry. I was told they make it fresh in the back daily and after having so many (including at Dominique’s) this place gets my stamp of approval. A must visit! Coffee was perfect as well, will be back!

I really want to like them because there’s not many good places in this area. Their beans are good quality but the baristas are really inconsistent. Often let the espresso shots die before they finish steaming the milk, and warm drinks come out lukewarm a lot of the time. Some of the baristas need a bit more training but everyone is nice and the coffee is still better than anywhere else close by.

Went for the first time to Rare Bird Coffee as I’ve heard so many great things about it. Beautiful atmosphere and coffee spot. Ordered a honey matcha latte and asked for extra hot. When I got it, it was barely hot and more warm than anything. Asked the barista if he could either warm up or add extra hot milk to it as I had hoped for a hotter cup of matcha.. barista said no and that how it’s ordered it comes out and he can’t do anything about it. Just very sad and disappointed that I came here for the first time and that’s the experience. I really wanted this to be my new coffee and study spot.

The cheese bread is not good at all. Too salty and seasoned. You cannot even taste the cheese.

Morning bread was amazing. Long wait lines. So if you are in a rush do not go on a tight schedule.
