Visited for dinner. Food did not disappoint but was on the pricier side. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere however, is on the louder side which may bother some.
Must of caught them on a bad day they were extremely rude and unprofessional.
Great esthetics, great service, AWESOME food. Great happy hour also.
If you want a great brunch with some very unique food options, this is your place. Their drinks were almost like works of art! You almost didn't want to drink them as much as admire them, but alas.... We drank them! Great experience!
Fantastic meal. The steaks were amazing, actually everything was amazing. Highly recommend.
Amazing!! Every time!
Service not good , place not overly busy , 3 hours to get in and out, orders were confused , food decent , but way over priced , spent 255.00 for dinner for two and kept our meals off the high end menu ! OMHO better places in town, sorry
Delicious food and timely service.
This is a great brunch place with amazing lighting/windows. The cups and presentation were so fun. We enjoyed the pupusas and sweet maduros as well as the cocktail menu. Our server, Ellie, was kind and helpful.
Gorgeous space. Friendly servers. Incredible food and cocktails!
All I can say is NOM NOM NOM!! The service was super quick. The drinks were delicious. We had the avocado salad and mariscas. Wonderful flavoring.
The food is delicious and our server Greta is absolutely outstanding! We've gone again and the bartenders are great. TJ makes tasty drinks and Yael is helpful in ordering drinks, appetizers and funny.
Took 1.5 hrs to get food
It's the most Instagramable restaurant in Charlottesville with an AMAZING vibe. The music is loud enough to enjoy and even dance to, but it doesn't overpower conversation at your table. The chef's table is a great addition and creates a unique date night experience. The bar is top-notch. Whether you are looking for cocktails or mocktails, this is such a fun place. Drinks are well made, beautifully decorated, and most aren't found in other area restaurants. The bartenders are ALWAYS friendly and attentive. The majority of the menu is freshly made and accommodating to many dietary restrictions. However, the food is not as consistent as we'd like. The quality is either phenomenal or leaves you thinking you would have been better off at Applebee's (not even Outback). We used to LOVE coming here for the authentic flavors and plating. We just don't like the ever changing menu choices of lesser quality and inconsistent portion sizes. We really dislike the fact that the menu pricing changes often. A better variety of sides are needed and at least one vegetarian entrée option. The sauces are freshly made and are all worth trying. They compliment everything on the menu. Be sure to order the herbed butter with your complimentary bread! The Carnival menu and atmosphere were absolutely AMAZING! The waitstaff is knowledgeable and accommodating. Arianna (always pleasant and observant),Kristen (energetic), Greta (service with a smile) come highly recommended. We'd love for this place to get its original flare back and for it to force us to update our review.
We love $10 steak night at South and Central . It's affordable, flavorful and feels wonderful to go to a treat yourself restaurant and not feel like you're breaking the bank. We both got medium rare flank steak with a chimichurri sauce (this is so dangerously good) and a side of yucca fries. I love these meaty fries a lot more than potato! And if you love cheese like we do, you have got to get the grilled provoleta.. look at that PULL!!
It was my 3rd time and I can definitely recommend this place! The octopus and tacos were great. Previously, I have tried their steaks which were also perfectly cooked.
Located inside the dairy market as a stand alone restaurant, the high end take on American/Latin meals are outstanding, especially anything cooked on the open fire grill. The bison ribs and sirloin are outstanding as are the the various side dish opens. Pricing is on the high side if you just want a quick bite but reasonable for a nice “date night” destination. Drink menu, especially the lack of many beer options was the only minor let down but did not detract from the overall excellent experience. Highly recommended.
The place is very nice, and the service was extremely nice and professional, but the food was not worth it. Both steaks my fiancee and her mother received were rare when asked for medium. The empanadas were very good. They were out on multiple items, which limited their already limited menu. You can tell the Chocolate Tres Leches Cake has been in the fridge for at least a day because it was extremely hard. I'd love to give this place another try, but for now my experience was no where near what I expected.
Went in for restaurant week, at first I thought the food was southern style but found it is South American! Even better! The bison meat is so tender, it melts in the mouth. The provoleta had a nice presentation being lit up in flames. The walnuts in the rice pudding dessert was relishing, having a caramelized flavour to it.
Absolutely amazing meal from provoleta appetizer to bison rib entrée to bread pudding dessert. 100% recommend it all!
