Their regular brewed coffee is outstanding, and their selection of breads and pastries is great. It's also nice to have a more extensive breakfast and lunch menu to order from
Exceptional
Bad service lady was rude and did not hear my food
I cannot say enough good things about this awesome spot. It’s the go-to breakfast and lunch spot for our daughter who attends UVA. We eat here every time we visit and it is always perfection. Today we had the egg and cheese sandwich on a pretzel croissant (to die for!), the asparagus quiche (creamy with a flaky crust) a single egg (cooked perfectly) and a sticky bun with pecans (OMG so rich and good). We also had iced lattes (one with oat milk) and a double espresso. It’s a hopping place that is always busy. Don’t miss this gem when you are in Charlottesville!
My only complaint is that they run out of my favorite pastries far too quickly - but then that just gives me a chance to try something different. Wonderful place with friendly people.
Delicious lattes and desserts. Definitely check out next time you’re in Cville!
Great pastries. Mediocre coffee at best.
Love this place, amazing coffee and food. Best coffee spot in town.
Great people from top down. And food....heavenly
I love MarieBette’s baked goods and pastries, and all of their Hot Chocolate Month offerings have been amazing!
So good the phone just simply cannot eat first. Petite Marie Bette has been a little safe haven of mine for a few years now. I remember being annoyed when they opened because at the time I thought I had left Charlottesville for good and was like, "Of course something like this would open when I leave." As is the story for many of us here, I somehow ended up back in Charlottesville and PMB helps me to romanticize my time here. My go-to is the BEC on their sourdough. I'm sure I've spent at least $500 on these (judge me idc). The petite canele. Their hot cocoa month. And an oat milk matcha latte. Friendly service, beautiful space, and incredible cafe food. Love you lots, PMB.
Excellent place for coffee, breakfast, and working on week days. Warm cozy cafe with delicious pastries. The Brussels sprout salad is wonderful!
Excellente boulangerie ! En tant que Français nous avons vraiment appréciés manger ici. Mention spéciale au palmier au beurre !
Excellent food, great people. Highly recommend
One of my top spots to get breakfast and coffee in Charlottesville. I usually get a croissant with sausage, cheddar and egg along with a cappuccino. What's important to me in shop that sells coffee is consistency and their cappuccino is consistency good! The line gets long Saturday mornings due to its proximity to the City Market, so be aware that you may not find a seat inside. However, if you go weekday morning, I'm sure you'll find a table.
Super cute little cafe with delicious coffee, amazing pastries, and perfect breakfast sandwiches. I’m picky about my eggs and these were light and fluffy, not a flake of brown, and gently seasoned on a delicious croissant. Busy, but we were able to snag a table and enjoy our breakfast.
Great croissants
Easily our go-to pastry spot when we are on the downtown mall.
Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was very disappointing. I ordered the North Garden sandwich to go. Wish I had taken a photo before I ate it.....in 3 about bites! The picture online looks like you can barely open your mouth wide enough to take the first bite. MY North Garden looked like a tiny, flat slider at best! I had made no modifications to the ingredients in the sandwich. There was no aioli nor bleu cheese on the sandwich and the lettuce (a small 1/4 size torn piece of a romaine leaf) was translucent like it had been put on the sandwich while the portabella was still hot, so the lettuce had "melted" onto the mushroom and had no crunch. I work on the Downtown Mall and frequent Marie Bette often - never have I had such a sad looking dish! I would expect better for an almost $10 sandwich and will not order the North Garden again!
Everything was amazing food wise. My experience inside the restaurant was a little disappointing. It was early and I had my 5 year old with me. We couldn’t find a table so I ordered to go. As I was waiting I noticed a young man staring at me. He didn’t have coffee or food, smelled, and looked to be homeless. Each time I looked over he was staring with an odd expression on his face like he was enjoying himself making me clearly uncomfortable. Part of me wanted to buy him a coffee but the other protective part told me there was something mentally wrong with him. I’m not sure why he was allowed to take up an entire table or how long he was there as we left asap but the experience was unsettling.
