The food was pretty solid but not particularly great. The general ambience was fun and family friendly. Kitschy in all the right ways. My mojo chicken sandwich was at best 4/5. No huge complaints, but it wasn't up to the standard of a restaurant with a 4.8 on google. The chicken just felt weirdly uniform, and the texture wasn't ideal. It honestly seemed like it was cut up on an industrial mandolin 8 hours ago and put into a chicken receptacle that holds chicken slices all day. The avocado toast was much better. The flavors came together, and the dish was pretty great. Fresh avocado with a rich creamy base and some great pickled onion pucker. I'd recommend visiting, but it's not exactly foolproof. Parking is what it is. Just walk a few minutes during the day or pay a few bucks to cross the street and get your food.
Great food and very helpful service. Had a bag stolen, and they were helpful getting it back and offering some great comfort food.
Catered our work event at Tiger and as always delivered beautifully. Much appreciated.
Amazing, high quality, fresh food you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Have been here twice and have tried a lot of the items on the menu. The breakfast bowl is the go to, but the fried cheese, the coffees and the iced teas are all amazing. Great flavors, highly recommend.
I absolutely loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. Lots of plants and artwork everywhere and the food was freaking fantastic. I had the huevos guajiros and it reminded me a lot of chilaquiles but sooooo much more flavorful! It's a shame I'm only visiting Charlottesville but I will DEFINITELY be back at least one more time!
Only had time for a coffee, but it was amazing! Can’t wait to go back 😋
We love Guajiros! So fresh, so flavorful, and to top it off…great staff!
This place came highly recommended. Went out of our way while passing through Charlottesville for lunch but they had decided to close earlier today than they have posted. Missed opportunity.
Breakfast knocked my socks off. Such a great way to start the day. Make sure to try the hot sauces.
Flawless. The food was great, the people were great and the vibes were great. You cannot miss with this place and it’s great to know it’s a family owned business.
Food was amazing. The service was great, too. Staff came by just the right amount to check on us without being too frequent. Try the cucumber/dill/serrano hot sauce.
Sweet family-run restaurant with fantastic food, service, and atmosphere.
Great spot, we usually go for breakfast but everything is good, the food and the coffee. Juevos Rancheros and a cortadito (or two) is my go-to. The people are really nice there and it's family friendly. They have Calvin and Hobbes books, toys, games and a classic SNES we played while we were waiting for our take out order. My 8-year old said "wow, this is a great place, we should come here at least four times a month" and my 5-year old absolutely housed the avocado toast.
Me and my tried the Cuban sandwich. It was delicious! I would visit again when I visit Charlottesville Va. Great customer service.
Great restaurant for Miami style Cuban food. The Cuban is always delicious and the service has always been perfect everytime we go. A must stop for those visiting Charlottesville!
I tried Guajiros for the first time today and it’s definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Charlottesville now. I got the Mom’s Platter with pulled pork and fried cheese with a side of plantains and it was so so delicious. I absolutely loved the hot sauces too and I even bought a bottle of the orange/mild sauce for myself because it was THAT good. The cafe con leche was great too and really hit the spot for a Saturday brunch. Our server Lexi was amazing. She was so kind and was super knowledgeable on the menu when I had a question about some items. She was also super attentive and had a really positive attitude that made the meal even better.
I've always grabbed to go, but the food is always fantastic. I've had a wide variety of menu items-breakfast & lunch, all were delicious. I especially love the tostones & plantain chips. The Cuban sandwich is excellent, & if you're really hungry, order the especial version. Overall 5 stars.
Good quality food with fast service. Should be known its a hipster chill spot with music and students.
This is the best restaurant in Charlottesville. Full stop. Everything I'm here is amazing - their cafe con leché is to die for. It's owned by three brothers who are each friendlier than the last. These guys rock. The atmosphere is on point, the prices are fair, and the food is just delicious. I cannot reccomend it enough.
Great food, coffee, and service!
