Has great coffee and food!
$15 for a skimpy, sloppily made roast beef sandwich on dry white bread. Serious decline in quality here, could get a sandwich twice the size and $5 less at any other local deli/bakery.
Excellent light lunches, fantastic coffee and teas, nice environment 🥰
OMG bread heaven! Delicious breads, yummy sandwiches. Support a local business. Worth a side trip off the highway.
It was the best sandwich and the bread is phenomenal.. The maple glaze cinnamon roll was absolutely delightful
Delicious food, slow-ish service.
Such an amazing fresh bakery. The smells are so perfect when you walk in and they have so much to choose from!!!! We got cinnamon rolls, croissant (butter and chocolate) and some rolls. The rolls didn't even make it back to the hotel before we ate them. Super cute store and worth the stop for lunch.
My all time favorite place for coffee and bread
This place was buzzing when we visited on a Friday morning - had to drive around to find a space. They had a good variety of breads as well as pastries. Plenty of tables to dine in. The staff was friendly and very helpful explaining the different types of breads. The epi baguette was extremely delicious. We'll definitely be back!
They are bread is excellent! My favorite is there seeded baguette, but they are all good.
This is the real deal. Beyond artisan, their bread is simply amazing. Buy more than you think you need because you’ll need it! 😁
Excellent fresh food. Sandwiches. Bakery, soft drinks. A bit pricey.
Classic European style breads and pastries well and consistently prepared. Combined with an excellent deli and a properly managed wine store adjacent, it's a terrific stop for breakfast or lunch.
I had a chocolate Kouign Amman and it was heavenly. Also, I just had a bite of my boyfriend’s grilled cheese and it was the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had.
Just want to say I had the best maple frosted cinnamon roll of my life here today - It was truly exceptional. Thank you very much Red Hen!!! Your breakfast sandwiches (the one with the lemon butter geez louis!), lattes, lovely space and the kind folks who work there are truly special.
It's good but I'm not sure what the hype is. Hard to tell the difference between their products and a lot of other bakery/cafes in Central VT. The staff are hardworking, and pleasant. I've been a few times now and it's always been very busy, so there's been a bit of a wait. Kudos to the staff for running a very successful business. The atmosphere is a little stale for a cafe, reminds me of a NYS rest stop + travel store. The location itself is cute though, with an "art park" out back, a thrift store in the parking lot, a wine store, and a restaurant "filling station" across the street.
Take out / away. Bread and sandwich. Lovely hardworking staff. Quality. Bread is very good, but imo a bit overhyped. Prices are fair. Just as good, bread can be found elsewhere by other local bakers.
Phenomenal café! This is our go-to local stop! We love that we can always count on a high quality of food and love their emphasis on organic and local grown ingredients! Their iced mocha (with a house-made ganache) is out of their world! They are always family-friendly!
I met an elementary/middle school/high school/ adulthood friend at the locale which ended up being a perfect time. We sat at a picnic table In the back. We both had coffee beverages, I had shortbread cookies that I finished this morning, and my friend had a Thanksgiving style turkey sandwich. She mentioned that the bread there is the best. The back area is like a little bitty theme park with empty childlike camp structures all around, and afterwards we both purchased some non food items at red hen as well as each purchased a bottle of beautiful wine alcohol next door at the new place, I think the name of it was Local times 4 or something. An Olde piano was in the foyer between the businesses, and I played the melody Solace by Joplin while waiting for my childhood/youth-hood friend. Was all-around great!
On the way up I-89 and stopped in. A minute each way off the highway and back on. Artisan sandwiches and breads and real good coffee and cider. Sandwiches worth the price. Cute inside with some drinks, cooler snacks like cheese and salami, some cards, and jams, syrup, etc.
