Food and service has always been excellent. My family has been dining with them since they first opened many many years ago. Love the food, love the owner/chef, love the staff.
I’m am writing this review to warn others of blatant discrimination, and violation of the American Disabilities Act (ADA) today 5/7/2023. At about 10 am I visited the little rooster cafe to enjoy some breakfast with my close friend, along with us I brought my service animal “Lupita” and Australian shepherd specifically trained to assist me with my disabilities. The offender was a woman named Jackie (or so I’m told) she came up to us right away and even though my service dog was sitting , and clearly labeled with a vest “service dog” she approached my dog without asking, my animal as trained backed away from her, she then proceeded to proclaim that she did not believe that she was a service animal, several times. While restaurants are within their right to have employee ask (a) is this a service animal? And (b) what specific task is she trained to do? This woman(Jackie) did not ask me those questions at all. She came over to us and without consent proceeded to perform her own “testing” to determine if she believed Lupita was indeed a service animal. I assured her that she is a service animal registered with the ADA, and the Department of Transportation (DOT) and I carry with me all the necessary documentation to prove this. She then continued rudely on, that she would “let us stay this time”, and scolded that if my service dog “makes a sound, barks or anything” we would be “outa there” “kicked out” . This treatment is completely inexcusable, and a violation of my rights. She never asked the questions she is legally allowed to ask, and this experience made for a completely awkward, and unpleasant breakfast with my friend. And of course my service dog was on top notch behavior. Laying by my side, alert and completely quiet the entire time as she is trained to do, on planes, trains and cars, and yes restaurants too.
Super nice, super tasty. I’ve yet to eat something I didn’t like there.
Stopped here for lunch. There was a short wait to be seated. Food was good and service was quick.
Loved the character of the old smaller bungalow. New place nice too but mostly like the staff and food.
Food is on point! Best blueberry pancakes I’ve ever had. Friendly staff and great atmosphere!
Loved this place! It’s definitely worth the wait. We’ll definitely be coming back!
We went for lunch today. Had the wonderful sweet potato chili and a side salad. My wife had the spinach salad with walnuts, eggs, an abundance of bacon, and eggs. Oh, the carrot ginger coconut soup was outstanding. Service was great and we will come back for breakfast next time! Thank you!!
Food was okay but the waitress left much to be desired. Rude throughout our visit, I would have likely not left the review until she was rude to the table next to us as well.
Very good place for breakfast. A bit of a wait because it’s a busy small restaurant but the service and food make up for the wait. I would recommend this place.
What a wonderful group of people running this place. We're visiting from San Antonio, Texas and had Little Rooster just about every morning of our trip. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly, and the vibes are on point!
Strong 4star! Staff was amazing friendly, and accommodating! Food portions were good! French onion soup was amazing! Go here!
We stopped here for lunch, but they have a breakfast menu all day. The menu has a nice selection, and the lunch specials we ordered (turkey BLT wraps with avocado, dijonaise and cheddar cheese on a spinach wrap, with celery root and carrot salads) were excellent . The food was fresh and tasty, service was great, and our server was very attentive. Parking is easy in the lot right in front of the restaurant. This is not a large place, and the tables were filled around noon on a Monday, but there was also some outside seating. And because service was so efficient, tables became available without too long a wait. We would definitely return here the next time we are in the area. Perfect place for a casual breakfast or lunch. Good food, nice size portions, reasonable prices, and good service.
Rude to walk into a cafe and get completely ignored while an employee or the owner was chatting with someone and rolling cutlery.. We only got the her attention by interrupting her conversation to ask to sit outside where there were empty tables. She said they were not serving outside on this gorgeous Vermont day and the wait was 20 minutes. Obviously, they didn't need our money so we left. I know it's hard to find good help these days, but basic hospitality should be a given.
Excellent! Had perhaps the best omelette our lives, and the fluffiest pancakes ever (also delicious). All of the accompaniments (buttered toast, hash browns, etc) were made with care, and way above average.
Excellent. The service was great and the food arrived quickly. My wife got an artichoke salad and loved it. I got the corn beef hash and a side pancake. The hash has a great flavor and is unique. Pancake was excellent. Very good all the way around.
Ate breakfast here this morning and the food was amazing! There was a pretty short wait and once we got seated the food came out quick.
I went here yesterday (Sunday morning) right at 7:30 am when they opened because I needed a quick breakfast before I left town for a road trip. I wound up lingering longer than anticipated but I don't regret the delay! A surprising number of customers showed up at opening (always a good sign!), the atmosphere was serene with some light music in the background. The place is as neat as a pin. The service was impeccable, the food - wow - it was outstanding. I had scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, cheesy hash brown, and a grilled English muffin and coffee so good I had to have a second cup. All the food was prepared thoughtfully and I had plenty to eat at this great local restaurant. When I come back to visit my cousin in Pawlet, I'll definitely stop here for a meal again!
it was ok for breakfast but their latte is more expensive than Starbucks
We enjoyed a tasty and reasonably priced lunch that was delivered to our table in a very short wait time !
