Not sure what’s up with the food lately, I always used to loved it. My last experience was bitter burnt pork, dry, tasteless everything after I waited 20 minutes to get my horrible omelet. There was only a couple other people there 🙁 I threw the whole meal out. Firebird needs to tighten up! They also need to ditch the paper plates and plastic utensils! Oh and turn the heat on inside! Awful

Not bad for a quick bite. The interior is a bit dark/urban in decor and noise travels from table to table. Food was good, fresh and well priced.

Chorizo Migas and Fish Tacos are 2 of my favorite things to eat in the greater Burlington area. Fish Tacos are arguably the best in the area.
Every single time we go there, the food is absolutely awesome.
Food was good, Counter service good, atmosphere not great, plastic silverware and paper plates, about seven tables available for seating, and plan on keeping your jacket on. We went there on a 30 degree day and it was probably around 60 in the restaurant. And the cold metal chairs were... well... cold.
I really don't see what the big deal is. The food's okay. Service is iffy. Atmosphere is industrial and impersonal.
A nice place to start the day with breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, & afternoon tea.
This use to be an adorable cozy cafe with a charming atmosphere on Pearl street. Upon returning to there new location in Essex five corners I was extremely disappointed to say the least. The loud industrial atmosphere is NOT COZY (words they use to describe this place). The lackluster wholesale metal seating with dirty tables, overflowing trash cans, paper plates with plastic forks is a drastic change for the worse. I’ll never eat inside again, maybe take out. The food was equally good but ruined by a plastic knife unable to cut into anything. Not a single napkin dispenser anywhere and you only get one piece of tissue in the plastic utensil bag. Another major disappointment was the lack of hot sauce, they use to have a variety available at the counter (like cholula, franks, Tabasco, custom) now there are non. No salt no pepper, not heat. Should change their name at this point. (EDIT: This was previously rated 5 stars at there former location)
Just paid $10.80 for a C.A.B. sandwich for takeout. When I was able to eat it, found that the sandwich was rolled up and broken and all of the chicken was charred and tough! Worst sandwich I ever had here!! Also, be aware they can't honor gift cards yet.
Great food and coffee. We ordered two tofu burritos, home fries and coffee which were excellent. We waited about 10-12 minutes and enjoyed sitting inside. It's a smaller restaurant but it also has a nice outside patio seating area that would be ideal when it's nice outside. The service was good and it was well worth the relatively low cost (12 bucks a person). My only complaint is that the home fries had good seasoning and flavors but could have been slightly crisper - they were basically large thick cubes of potato that could have been smaller/thinner to help crispness. We will definitely stop by here again!
The service and the food is amazing!! My first time eating here I brought my boyfriend and we enjoyed everything. This is definitely on my list of places when I visit Vermont again.
Great breakfast! Good spot for some comfort food.
I felt the menu was limited in its options for vegetarians. I ended up with fish tacos which were runny and overcooked. My friend enjoyed her pork dish. Too many dishes have peppers. If you don't like, or can't eat peppers, you're out of luck.
Food was excellent! Everything was made to order and tasted fresh. Customer service was helpful and professional. Extensive menu with lots of great options. My only recommendation would be to stop using paper plates and plastic cutlery. It's difficult to eat on paper plates and is also very wasteful. Invest in a dishwasher please. Otherwise, would definitely recommend and will eat here again in the future.
Loved this place! The food was amazing and the atmosphere is on spot! Would definitely come back!
The place is awesome we only went there once and we are going again right now and we got their quesadillas and they were the most awesome at at cooking if I were you come over to the firebird cafe this is better than any restaurant you have went to this is the most perfect place for a birthday or getting married also watch out what you get for a drink I accidentally got a cream soda and thought it was a root beer 😂
Didn't love it, certainly didn't hate it. All the items have a definite southwestern flair. The service was friendly and the food got served fairly quickly. It's not our favorite place to eat, but only because we don't particularly care for the menu style. The food and the presentation is five star.
