I found a new happy place today. Truly this was a perfect experience and improved my whole day. I have always loved a dedicated dessert restaurant, but this was exceptional. The decor is perfect, upscale mid century with open view to the chocolate factory on site where all the delicious chocolate is produced. The service was friendly and gave recommendations from experience. Finally, the dessert so amazing I ordered extras to go and give to others. The S’more was incredible, as was the molten chocolate cake we ate later. 10/10 recommend :)
Second time at their afternoon tea. It's an amazing experience from the moment you park in front of the historic building. It's beautiful inside, the staff is perfect, and the food is divine. Worth every penny!! Already planning to go again
Had a great time at our tea time reservation. The menu changes monthly. Everyone had a different favorite. We had 3 savory items, scones with jam and marscapone, as well as 4 sweet items.
Taste has the feeling and food of a European Cafe, the atmosphere is absolutely lovely and relaxing and the staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. The food is incredible, you can taste how fresh it is and they never go halfway. I love to get a pot of tea and drink that while I read a book. I find any excuse I can to go there and love bringing my friends and family to try everything there and chat over lunch and tea.
Love this place. A gem of Provo. I hope it never leaves. Their menu is wonderful. They care about quality ingredients. My favorite is the croque monsieur. They also have an impressive selection of artisan chocolates from around the world, and some vinegars and olive oils. I have a couple of suggestions for improvement. The music they play is big band music and it is always blasting way too loud. Hard to relax during a private brunch or to talk over with companions. Can they play more relaxing music? I’d also love it if they’d serve high quality espresso and coffee. It seems odd that they don’t as it would pair so well with their menu and fit the French cafe vibe.
We visited for a tour, chocolate tasting and vinegar/oil tasting. Paul was our host and did an excellent job. He gave us a very thorough tour and answered all of our questions. It was impressive to see how chocolate is made at a local place. For the tasting we learned the proper technique of breaking the chocolate to hear the proper temper, warming it between your fingers and smelling it and then allowing it to melt on your tongue. We tasted a variety of darknesses, flavors and origins. Each had a unique twist. My favorite was the gunpowder chocolate that is infused with Carolina reaper peppers. It was a unique experience. We also tried some of their chocolate herbal tea. It was mild and very pleasant. Then we tried the vinegars and oils. They were exceptional. Especially the lemon infused olive oil with the cherry vinegar. Last we tried some ice cream with strawberries drizzled with tangerine infused oil and cherry vinegar. It was incredible. Just remarkable. I would definitely recommend going here and trying it yourself. What a great experience.
Went last week with my mom and we ordered one hot chocolate to stay around 6 pm. Last time I went they took less than 8-10 minutes to serve me, so I was expecting the same. After 25 minutes of waiting I asked the server if she knew how much longer was it going to take for the hot chocolate to be ready, and apparently they forgot about my hot chocolate, which is fine, however she handed to me in a “to go” cup, and I told her that we wanted it to drink it there, than she looked at me and said that they were going to close in 5 minutes for a private event, that’s why she gave me in a to go cup. 🤪 Very upsetting since we were waiting there for 25 minutes and wanted to drink inside since it is freaking cold outside. She could have at least offered or handed us a second cup as courtesy for making us wait that long and kicking us out like that. I would love to go back, but because of this experience I wouldn’t even consider it to be honest. Definitely not the right way to treat a customer, especially when we went there to celebrate my birthday with some yummy hot chocolate. At least hot chocolate was good, but felt like the to go cup is a lot smaller than the portion they serve at the store.
There is no sliced strawberry with the brownie to go like the picture on google shows and it took 20 minutes to get a little cup of soup and a brownie on a Friday night. The brownie tasted very strongly like dark chocolate and was very dense, and gourmet and delicious! It was cold though in our to go order. The soup was tasty and very salty. It’s very clean and classy inside.
Went here for tea on Valentine's Day and it was fantastic. Pastries were delicious and fun, the drinks were great and there was a fun hipster vibe to the whole place. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun (if a bit pricey) date.
We loved coming and doing a chocolate tasting here! Everyone was so kind and answered all our questions about the artisan chocolate! The chocolate was delicious and we ended up getting a few extra desserts as well!
Deserts are very good but took 30 minutes for a piece of cake and hot chocolate.
Quality used to be better. Love this place but last few times the soup and sandwiches haven’t been as good. Got a croquet monsieur today and the bread wasn’t toasted and was slightly doughy. Desserts are great though not always consistent.
I seriously love Taste! Its fun and novel and it is so worth going (definitely book a chocolate tasting!) but unfortunately, I also have to associate this place with disappointment because they close so early!! 6PM is wayyyy to early to close for a dessert place. I've thought to go so many times just to remember they are already closed and I have to go somewhere else. Their website is also pretty disappointing. Reservations will book up early and it's unclear how to get one besides just emailing (which I haven't had much success with either)
Atmosphere is so elegant & the service is incredible. The food was super fancy and absolutely scrumptious!
Went for afternoon tea with a large party of friends. The staff graciously allowed us to adjust our time slot and were extremely polite and well informed. Beverages and food were delicious and filling and we had a wonderful time! Highly recommend and hope to visit again.
The tea (where you get a selection of finger sandwiches, dessert, and other small bites) is great! Super interesting flavors and tons of fun to try new items while sipping on your drink of choice (cocoa tea, vinegar soda, among many others). We went as a girls lunch (my sister, my mom and I) and it was really fun.
A hidden treat in Provo! The atmosphere was amazing and the offerings were great. Loves the frozen hot chocolate!!
The ambiance of Taste is classy and fun. The food is always delicious, and our service was prompt and attentive. A great place for a date!
My wife and I *were* fans of dandelion chocolate in SF but now Taste is our #1 go to for artisan chocolate. And cocoa to die for! The charming french café atmosphere, cafe foods and nigh-impossible to reserve afternoon tea are al worth a trip. If I could give it 6 stars I would after the flexibility and friendly service of the counter staff when I wanted to surprise my daughter and her visiting boyfriend on her 23rd birthday. They graciously allowed me to bring in gourmet berry tarts from a nearby french bakery, cover of me in birthday candles and set three places for us to celebrate. We did, of course each order a cocoa or tea. What a fine addition to downtown Provo!
This is an amazing chocolate store with chocolate tasting, chocolate instruction, and on site fabrication of all sorts of derivatives. This is a high quality cocoa, and I love all the dishes they offer. The ambiance is great, patterned in an old fashioned European style. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy their rich hot chocolate and chocolate melting cakes. Incredible!
