We stopped for lunch on our way home from visiting family in Dallas. I picked this place because the reviews all said the chicken fried steak was "the best they ever had". I love a good chicken fried steak. 🤤 Unfortunately, they were all out of chicken fried steak, BUT my husband and I went with the chicken fried chicken instead and it was amazing! The crust was perfection. The fried okra was top notch too. I could live without the mashed potatoes though. The reason for the four stars is because the service could use some improvement. We had three different waitresses and they were all very sweet, but it just didn't seem like everybody was on the same page. The drink order wasn't right and we didn't get our rolls initially. Overall, I would come back when we come visit family again though and I would recommend it.
We came here for a family breakfast. There was a wait to get seated, but that is to be expected on a Saturday morning. The place was very crowded, but the staff were attentive and we never had to worry about refills. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Very busy at lunch time. Staff was friendly. Seating is tight during busy times. Food and pricing was average, but no complaints. A good local
I love this little cafe!! The food is absolutely fantastic! The quiche is to die for. Top pick for breakfast hands down.
A small but great spot for breakfast right off the downtown square!
We didn't get to eat. There isn't alot of sitting space and they seem really popular. There really isn't an area to even wait so we went to a different restaurant. I liked the atmosphere tho 😀. Maybe we will be able to go back and try the food.
Love the old town atmosphere. Good place to meet up with old buddies, talk about the good ole days and eat good food.
Amazing place. Even better people. Delicious food. What more can you ask for.
Best breakfast you will find in any city, county, state. MASSIVE portions & the historic hometown feel creates the perfect atmosphere. The food is almost sexual so bring protection.
Sweet spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Everything in the menu is good. Reasonable prices. The interior is full of history! **Closed on Tuesday**. Open until 2 p.m. As it is right off the square, parking may take a minute. Highly recommend.
So very awesome!! Great breakfast, excellent service. They were very accommodating with my requests like onion with the hash browns and extra crispy bacon. Been here twice; consistent service and quality. All of us really enjoyed our food. **AND*** the coffee is wonderful. Many diners have what I consider to be gross coffee, burnt and old. Not this one!!
Don't bother. They have started turning regulars away (meeting us at the door) 30-35 minutes before their scheduled close time. This has happened numerous times.
This was my 1st time visiting here. I had the Rueben sandwich. As soon as it came, I went to take a bite, the rye bread was stale. The rest of my party enjoyed their meals. I took everything off the bread and ate it that way. I will try eating here again.
Below average food and below average customer service. Ordered biscuits and gravy with eggs. My eggs were rubbery and my biscuits were week old dry at best.
The staff is always so kind and the food is always good. The pancakes take up the whole plate.
NEVER will try to eat here again. After waiting almost an HOUR the waitress said they forgot to put in our order...
The food is awesome and the staff is great.
The food was over cooked. I had chicken fried chicken and it was overcooked our waitress had to wait on tables and cashier at the same time and wipe tables off as well
Very friendly staff. Great food. Great atmosphere.
Food and service was excellent. Def going back again
