I love coming here for the 1948 signature latte. Full of coffee flavor, not too sweet. Just right.

I had a iced horchata latte w/ a cold foam and it was very yummy !! Lucy the barista was super attentive and went above and beyond for making me me feel welcomed and just taken care of ☺️

Our second time in and WOW! Such a cool vibe, delicious coffee, and incredible food. I'm a fan! Whenever we're in Tyler, this is our go-to for breakfast!

Poor food, poor service. Boo 5 orders all made wrong. Smoothly taste gross. Over priced Never again! Checked packaging of turkey and it was not organic.

Great location, loved the 1948 coffee drink, the indoor plants and interior was nice and relaxing. No loud music was nice as well - will return again for sure.

Update: Full disclosure, I'm a coffee nerd. I'm somewhat saddened about how 1948 has changed in a short time. I mean no disrespect, but on my last visit, the barista staff was really unprepared. They just didn't know what beans they were brewing and the filter brew came out super over extracted (way more bitter than it needed to be.) It's pretty expected for a cafe serving specialty coffee, especially with in-house roasts, to know what they're brewing and how to do it well. My frequent past visits were NOT like this. Also, they've cut a lot of options from the menu and small grocery section beside the bar. I understand why, but it sucks to have both weakening coffee and food options. Still hope for the best for this nice place. 1948 is a beautifully decorated, inviting cafe with friendly staff and a flavorful, menu. I came for the coffee and stayed for a smoothie bowl filled to the brim with delicious fruit. My specialty espresso drink hit the spot and showcased the talents of their barista staff. 4 stars for higher prices than other local coffee places, longer waits and reduced seating, but by all means, give this place a shot.

Stopped by after passing by a few times and was curious about the location. The inside was very hip and modern, overall a nice atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful when ordering my drinks. This is a nice spot for meetings- conveniently tucked right in the middle of downtown and so many different businesses. They serve coffee, light food items and pressed juice. I look forward to coming back and trying the pressed juice and other coffee items listed. You should definitely visit if you've never been here before.

Coffee was great. The “bread and butter” don’t waste your $4.50 on 1 thin slice of bread that’s toasted to crouton consistency and no butter in sight. They should take it off the menu. I thought it was a joke when i saw it on the plate.

Cute little place in downtown Tyler. Across the street from a park and next to Andy's Frozen Custard. Friendly staff and clean seating area. Unique coffee offerings with some meal items. We only had coffee today, we'll try food another time. Only downside was they don't currently offer anything Decaf, so if you can't do caffeine, it for some tea.

Food and coffee were excellent. Visiting from out of town and went here for breakfast. Great selection of gluten free options and specialty drinks. We'll be back for sure.

If you're Vegan and or have a dietary restriction this is definitely the place to go in Tyler. I spend most of my days here and I don't think I'd enjoy it as much if it weren't for the staff, food, and overall atmosphere. Yeah you might say the food & coffee might be "expensive", but it's also worth noting that inflation has risen significantly. If you're just stopping by Tyler or happen to live here and want to support an ethical small businesses 1948 is the place to go :)

Tried one of the juices and the creme brulee latte. All were very good and could tell that the ingredients were fresh. Was ok paying a bit more than I normally would for a hand crafted coffee because I could tell that the ingredients were very fresh.

Very unique choices for food and for coffee. It was very good. The flavors are what make the coffee unique. Lots of healthy options. Cute place.

SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! The only thing great about this place is the cozy environment! It’s beautiful but the food is pre made and not it worth it for the price! Fred (I think that’s his name) was the only kindness we got there, I think he was the manager!

It’s a coffee bar for the downtown crowd. The location is interesting, and they have both outdoor and indoor seating. As coffee bars go, they’re pretty much in the middle of the market for “downtown coffee bars”.

There’s so many things to love about this place- But let’s list a few: 1. The atmosphere is SO cozy 2. The staff is so sweet & friendly 3. The food, coffee, treats are DIVINE! 4. They support local businesses within their local business. Please do yourself a favor & stop by! You will not regret it.
