Friendly staff & owner. Beautiful property! Sporting clays course is one of the nicest I have shot. Airport and staff is top notch. Best ranch resort I can imagine.
This place is amazing. Manicured grounds, clean facilities and lots to do with many activities in which to participate. We stayed for a weekend with a business group of 50. We had the main lodge to ourselves. It even has its own Starbucks outpost along with a general store with unique items. A hidden gem in Sonora.
We had a wonderful time at this Ranch celebrating my dad’s birthday, we wanted to have a ranch experience but make it luxury and this is it! Definitely recommend, within the first few hours of being there we were already thinking we should come back. We came for a weekend of a concert that was in the airport hangar, a very cool experience. The team was really great and made the experience awesome. Mindy helped us with scheduling everything and building our itinerary so that we could pack in as much as possible without overloading us. The team also decorated our room for the birthday celebration which was a really nice touch. Joe was very personable and an overall fun guy to have as a guide around the property. Lorin did a great job with our shooting activities making sure we were safe and having fun. Bobby and Michael are fantastic bartenders who made sure we all had fun and got the most delicious drinks. John made us very comfortable with the horse riding for us and really knows his horses. Sydney really knows her wines and gave us so much information that I’ve never gotten from even Napa wineries. Just overall incredible experience and very guest focused. The grounds were gorgeous and the food was awesome - we recommend the prime rib for sure! We didn’t get to see much wildlife but that is how it goes with animals! Our rooms were comfortable and very clean.
From the time we showed up, to the time we left, our experience was beyond our expectations. The entire staff was very kind, friendly and funny. Hats off to Joe who was our guide for sporting clays, not only did he do an amazing job explaining how to hold and shoot the rifle, but in the process, I lost my earring, Joe went back out to look for it, while my husband and I had dinner and FOUND IT! We were blown away! Super Thankful for Joe and lots of props! Taylor who was our waitress for most of our trip, such a kind, friendly young lady, very proper and fast at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Taylor it was a pleasure meeting you! Mike who was our tour guide for Star Gazing, extremely knowledgeable, learned a lot and to see the moon and stars up close was breathtaking! We had some good laughs about the planet names and had the pleasure of meeting the manager Robbie and Deanna at the same time who turned out to be the nicest couple ever! Robbie (Manager) really cared about our time and experience there and made sure that we were happy! Connie who was my massage therapist gave the most relaxing massage ever and listened to what I asked for, so Thank you to Connie! Our horseback riding with John was exciting, I love horses so I appreciate the fact they gave me time to love on my horse "Cash". To the bartender in the Lodge, Thanks for giving us various shots and making our drinks! You made us laugh and loved hearing your stories! To Erica, Thank you for checking us in and out and making us feel welcome. The Ranch is so beautiful we didn't want to leave. Spending our 8 year anniversary there was amazing and perfect. We definitely plan on going back and can't wait to see everyone's friendly faces again! Thank y'all!

My family and I can't speak highly enough about the JL Bar Ranch. A truly versatile ranch/resort, with something to offer for everyone in the family. Even if you're not a hunter or into shooting, you can find relaxation at the spa, or a nice dip in the infinity pool and if its a bit chilly you can always warm up in the hot tub with a beautiful view of the rolling pastures, fields and hills. or stop in the clubhouse and play some shuffleboard, pool or board games and cards. we even made friends with a couple family's while down here who were some of the most wonderful people I can honestly say I have ever met. If you are into hunting I can't speak highly enough about their management and guides, highly experienced and definitely do their homework to give you the best odds at getting on whatever you're here for. we were fortunate to have harvested my axis and my fiancé's and her sisters rams. A HUGE SHOUTOUT to HEATH a guide with an extremely bright future and KYLE the manager in charge of hunting sales/guide. Both guys were incredible to hunt with and made the experience that much more meaningful. Again highly recommend this ranch/resort and Heath and Kyle. you can find a very friendly group of guests and even friendlier staff. Truly a home away from home feel from the moment you arrive until you're unfortunate but inevitable goodbye's. We had a blast and will forever cherish our memories and their values. We hope to come back in the future!

My wife and I were lucky to have the resort almost to ourselves due to some cancellations. The staff treated you like family. I hunted for 3 days, while my wife enjoyed the spa. Joe took us on a tour around the property which was awesome. Being from Louisiana, I can be a little judgmental when it comes to food...the JL bar ranch didn't disappoint in this area either. My guide Ricky was a great guy. Unplugged from the office with the cell phone turned off was one of the most relaxing places I have ever been to. Can't wait to go back.
My husband and I just visited the JL Bar Ranch for our honey moon and quite honestly five stars just aren’t enough. This place truly deserve ten or more. We could not have asked for a better location to spend our special week than here. It is with out a doubt a first class destination with down to earth first class employees. Robbie the manager went above and beyond to make us feel like family and our stay better than we could have imagined. Joe was a stand up guy who showed us around the property and took us shooting on the sporting clay range. It was an absolute blast with great company. We can’t leave out Eliazar the best bar tender in Texas. We could go on and on about each staff member who made us feel at home and went out of their way to make our honeymoon so special. There really is no place like the JL Bar Ranch. It is a beautiful property with beautiful lodging and the food is out of this world. If you get a chance you should go horse back riding with John who was an amazing guide on the trail with great stories. We can’t wait to come back to visit!

I recently went to the JL Bar and Ranch to get away and hunt while my girlfriend spent time in the spa. The place was amazing!! The three days of hunting I did was a dream! I'm a lifetime hunter from Indiana, being the first time in Texas I always want to hunt the prairies. Ricky was my guide and was fantastic! Can't say enough about my guide! We stalked and hunted Axis deer and Fallow deer. Ricky had a great eye for the stalk hunts. I was able to have my capes and meat flown home. The spa treatments my girlfriend enjoyed, relaxing and peaceful. We ate dinners every evening in the resort restaurant. Food was fabulous! My beer and wine glass was never empty! The hospitality was beyond belief! We would definitely go back!
My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing stay at the resort. I would highly recommend JL Bar. After a long drive in from Dallas we were at peace as we drove into the well appointed resort. The food was delicious, service fantastic, accommodations clean spacious and comfortable. A special shout out to Bobby!
My wife and I just spent 4 nights at JL for her birthday. This was an amazing trip and experience! The ranch is beautiful and serene. The staff made our stay even better! Server/bartenders Bobby and Ealozar were great…and Bobby was very attentive and his customer service is top notch! Our guides for the gun range (Keith) and our UTV excursion (Blake) were very knowledgeable and friendly. Keith provided us with the best range experience and was very helpful coaching my wife! Our horseback riding experience with John was top notch! Our wine tasting with Sydney was incredible and she is very knowledgeable about wine! My wife had a couple of masssges at the spa and said Connie is one of the best massage therapists she’s ever had! The chef and his team were always delivering fresh and delicious food…thanks! My wife and I spent 3 days here in July as part of our honeymoon in the states and we had the best time!! We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and every member of staff from check in to check out was fantastic!! From our check in with Kayleigh and Veronica who were great to drinks with Ethan at the bar and activities with Blake we couldn't have asked to be made to feel more welcome!! We also had a nice little chat with Robbie the GM and also met the owner, both of which were were extremely accommodating and took the time to talk with us!! Definitely a luxury highlight of our mini tour of Texas and would highly recommend this place to anyone thinking of visiting! We hope to visit again in the future!! Thank you to all for making our stay so special and memorable!!
Just completed a five day vacation at JL Bar Ranch. Everything about our time was 5 star. Kudos to the entire staff for making us feel welcome, safe, and extremely pampered during our entire stay. Wife visited the spa a couple of times, while I was active on the long distance rifle range. We both felt the activities was a world class experience. Dining also was 5 Star with delicious, well prepared, and great attentive service with a varied menu. The wine tasting was presented by a very well educated and informed team about different wines. A special shout out to the following staff......Ethan, for his eagerness to please, no matter what the request, and always with a smile and politeness....Robyn, who made dining a delight with her attentive great service, and "hovering" around us making sure we wanted for nothing......and Keith, who spotted on the long range, for his professionalism and great tips helping me be continuously be on target at 1700 yds......And Robbie, the GM, who took the time to make sure our stay was on the level of service that comes with a Five Star Resort.......... My wife and I just stayed at the JL Bar Ranch for the first time. It is a stunning property in the Texas Hill Country. We have zero complaints. It was a very peaceful getaway and all of the staff were amazing. Everyone was so nice and accommodating and made us feel like family. We are already planning a return trip and plan to become regulars at the JL Bar Ranch.
