WOW! First time going, both the food and coffee were great! If you go, get the "Westside Special", it will not disappoint! My nephew loved the chocolate chip muffin and my mom loved the Honey Latte. Already recommending to my family/friends!

This place is awesome!!! Only negative part it is they are only open 3 days a week.. the horchata iced coffee was bomb and so was the tomato soup and Barbacoa grilled cheese..

I had the "westside special" and it was really good, I highly recommend Barrio barista, lots of people there enjoying wifi and reading books, it's a nonchalant restaurant..

Good eats and good but very uncomfortable environment the owner or older man was very rude to his employee and I will not support this type of business

First time today. Went for a quick bite and caffeine. The barbacoa and brisket melts were the right balance of melty and meaty goodness while not being too heavy. We also got a couple chai lattes that were top 10%. This place has comfortable lighting, not too bright. While there are some aesthetics that seem slightly haphazard, everything I saw from food prep and coffee handling was detail oriented and presented well. Overall, wonderful place. Seems like careful service meets laid-back atmosphere. I'll get making this a regular spot.

It's absolutely my favorite coffee shop in SA. Feels like you're lounging at a friend's cozy, trendy living area.

Finally got around to trying this place, and unfortunately, don't recommend. The coffee was not good. I ordered two lattes and neither good. I informed the batista and she even tasted it and she agreed it was pungent. She informed the owner and the owner told me it was my taste buds because everything was fine. He refunded my money (although I never asked) but eas rude about it all. I also ordered the breakfast croissant, and unless you want a really bland, almost school cafeteria style sandwich, I dont recommend this either. ----- Super disappointed so we didn't get to try this place! Although the hours say they serve until 3PM, it's actually 2PM. That's pretty much the reason for the 3 stars. Hopefully we can come back to San Antonio soon to try it and update our review.

Returning to my roots was a theme today. What better way than to pay tribute to a neighborhood favorite, Barrio Barrista. The place is looking fabulous. The owner and staff are so welcoming. The coffee and the food are excellent. In fact we search for the feeling of coffee in the morning. Well when you come here if you want a double dose of morning delight, then order your favorite coffee or latte AND THE BARBACOA GRILLED CHEESE!! 🤯🤯🥳🥳😁😁 OH MAN OH MAN!! That combo is one of THE BEST in the central Texas region. Not to forget the great vibes at Barrio Barrista. There is no better experience than to actually see the passion for what they do in action. You can feel the love while enjoying the jazzy ambiance. Don't be afraid to go to the hood when you are headed to Barrio Barrista. This place should be on your to do this week list!

Great vibe and atmosphere in this place. The Horchata Latte was a little sweet for me, but I usually don't like sweets in general, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I added another couple of espresso shots and finished it off. I will definitely come back and try more items. The barbacoa grilled cheese is on my list.

Delicious! I'm only sorry I couldn't sample everything on the same day. The black bean patty melt was perfect(the sautéed cactus added onto it was a flavor I never knew I liked until now!). I also had a honey latte that was brewed to perfection.

Slow service, the worst I have been to in quite some time, and the owner or manager doesn't seem to care about other peoples time, this guy lives in his own world. Staff includes himself, two front counter girls, an a couple cooks in the back, yet blames being understaffed for being slow and not answering the phone for orders. Said that if you cannot except the slow service dont show up, well its not only the slow service but lack of verquenza in this place that puts it at the colmpete bottom of my list. 0 STARS if possible. Unbeleivable, this place can not even make a simlpe cup of earl gray tea right.

Barrio barista offers the standard coffee shop fare. However, they also offer the standards with a Mexican twist. For example, they offer a drink called Mexican mocha and it is made with abuelita hot chocolate. It's cinnamon-y deliciousness!

Nice, unique coffee shop on the west side. It’s a combination of small restaurant and coffeeshop, with a great menu and drink selection. The atmosphere is certainly unique, with fun and interesting decorations. The lights are low so there’s a silent, calm feel to the shop. That combined with the slow jazz, makes it great for working professionals. Overall, very nice, comfortable coffeeshop with a interesting and unique personality. I just wish it was open more days and for longer.
