Wonderful sandwiches and soup
Coffee was good, food sucked. Got a bagel with cream cheese. Menu said it had assorted flavor of cream cheese. They just had plain. Bagel was worse than a bagel you buy in the soft bread section of the grocery store. Not worth $5 for the bagel.
Had avocado sandwich and muffin, bottle of water. The only good thing I got was the muffin (they came from other store I'd know if its fresh, since I'm a cook myself). Avocado sandwich not a fan of it, they just spread avocado ONLY and dab in tiny amount of salt that's it. A teenager employee kid made it...boring for high price or at least hire someone who can really cook.Gloomy inside on day summer time, they need to let the lights in. would never go back.
This will be the first review I have done where I did not eat anything while I was there. Atmosphere was pretty chill and quiet. The only employee I saw there did not mind that I was taking pictures of the place. However, my friends and I did not get to have any of the food that we saw on the menu because we decided to just go home and get some sleep. I feel like the pictures speak for themselves, this place is a unique and gorgeous café . There should be a part two of the food review.
Their prices went way up. $13-$15 for HALF a sandwich is crazy. You’re paying close to $20 after tax for a full sandwich and side which is just too much.
I got the bacon egg and cheese croissant and it was bland, they didn’t ask how I wanted my eggs so I assumed by default it would be scrambled, the sandwich was extremely cold, and did not taste fresh. I asked for a muffin to be warmed up and their response was I don’t have a microwave? Weird because you’re a “bistro” and don’t have the capabilities to warm up a muffin? To top it off my the whole order was about 34$. I don’t mind paying a lot of money for food.. (I’m from New York I’m use to overpriced food) as long as it’s enjoyable. My experience was not great at all. 100% do not recommend!
Went there for a quick lunch. The cashier didn’t know anything about the menu (such as if the mango tea was already sweetened). Ordered a soup and salad combo. The salad had the wrong lettuce (iceberg instead of romaine) and the chicken salad didn’t have pecans or cranberries like the menu stated. The soup was from a can. The pickle that came with a sandwich looked like it had a bite taken out of it. And the ice tea had no flavor - how is that even possible in Texas???Unfortunately the staff didn’t know what to do or how to handle the situation. Overall it’s one to avoid and apparently the locals avoid as well.
Loved everything about it the atmosphere....the staff Ruth was Awesome The food is delicious..absolutely recommend it!!!🙂
Prices were blacked out on menus and not available behind the counter. Supposedly they are getting new menus but that’s been for months. Not appropriate for a business to not be transparent. Espresso was a disappointment, no flavor and likely overpriced Bagel was good, however the bagel itself is grocery store quality (not even heated), avocado was not inside (small tincture of spread) A bottle of Coke came out over $5!
Salado as a whole is an amazing little town. This coffee shop is talk to just behind some of the shops off the main road. Great coffee! Good people. Great environment!
This coffee shop is amazing! The decor and atmosphere is very welcoming. Greeted as soon as you walk in. The coffee is great and the food is absolutely delicious! A definite must while in Salado. Coming from Killeen, it was definitely worth the trip. Thank you Lively Coffee House & Bistro.
Five stars for the food and the cashier’s friendliness. 0 stars for the owners of this establishment who think it’s okay to close the restaurant whenever they feel like it with zero regard for their loyal customers. We have driven over 30 minutes to this place on two occasions and Google and Facebook showed they were open. We arrived to find a “Closed” sign. One time we showed up to order and the cashier actually admitted that the owners had decided to travel out of state for vacation without placing any orders for supplies/food! What the hell? If you decide to go here, just please be prepared. At least the fudge shop across the street is incredible and reliable! :)
Way too overpriced for mediocre sandwiches at best, also a lot of their prices were hidden on their menus. I honestly felt robbed for pay 40 bucks for 2 sandwiches and 1 hot chocolate.
Great place to eat and awesome staff.
Just got out of there from getting some coffee. The cashier had a horrible attitude and was very rude. The worst thing is, she didn’t care. Pretty sad on the customer service.
This is such a cute little cafe! Great little atmosphere, the club sandwich is huge! The M.B.P. (mozzarella, bacon, pesto) was awesome! They have great food, good coffee, delicious baked goods (get the peanut butter cookies), and even smoothies. Definitely want to come back!
This place is really nice and the owner's were awesome. They were short staff yet took 15 orders and did so quickly. The coffee was great and the breakfast sandwiches were the best that I have had in a long time. Highly recommend this place.
I really wanted to love this place. The woman at the front was working her tail off but it took over 30 minutes to get 4 bagels. If it’s going to take that long I would expect to be told when you order. I love to support small businesses and am willing to be patient, but this was ridiculous.
I have been coming to this coffee shop for a long time, however I am disappointed that they are never open when they say they are open. Every time i come in for coffee in the morning On a Saturday or Sunday they are consistently late opening…sometimes by 40 mins. I drive 20 mins out of my way to come here. I wish they would change their hours if they are not going to follow the hours they have posted. Otherwise coffee is great.
Such a great breakfast spot! Stopped by on our way from Austin to Dallas and ordered breakfast. The bagel was delicious and the bacon was the perfect texture. Highly suggest if you're looking for a hidden gem!
