Fun destination, great roadhouse-style decor, but really, the burgers here are seriously good!

Well we didn’t even have a chance to eat here because they don’t usually do reservations but of course when we tried to go they wouldn’t seat us. The women was incredibly rude and scoffed at us not knowing it was our first time. Very rude and also not a great atmosphere anyway.

Very disappointing! We went out of our way from Austin to Houston for a piece of pie only to find them closed (on a day they're supposed to be open) 😔

This was a fun place. I had the shrimp sandwich and it was very good. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Very cozy place, good food and rich cakes, attention is a weak point

horrible food and service it took 40 minutes to get food and keep in mind they charge you 20% for tip without your consent and 3$ for using debit/credit.

Love this family Cafe. Outstanding filet cooked perfectly and a slice of pie in the end. Truly Outstanding home cooked meal. Take a pie home with you. People were so friendly, they ask you to dine with them. That's hospitality.

Fun,funky little restaurant in the heart of round top. Famous for their great food & pies. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because $40+ for lunch for two is a bit steep. That's not including tip. Hamburger, steak sandwich & fries, one iced tea & 1 cinnamon roll.

Food (burger and tenderloin sandwich were a little on the bland / sub par side for being such a storied restaurant). Server was great. Iced tea was some of the best I’ve ever had. Would go for some pie and iced tea again, but for lunch we will skip it. They do have a kids menu and colors. Very dimly lit where we sat and atmosphere was fine (they sat us at a large table with 2 other parties.) 3 stars for the food.

We had a reservation for 4 at 6:30. We arrived 10 minutes early to wait on the front porch. Shortly after arriving, we heard shouting coming from the back of the restaurant with someone saying repeatedly, "Get the f__k out!". At 6:40, I went inside to get a few drinks while we waited patiently. I approached the bar area to order our drinks and was shocked to be told by the only employee available to ask someone else because she was extremely stressed and didn't have time to help me. Someone else came over and helped me get a few drinks. After returning to the porch with our drinks, we were surprised when a female handler for the owner started to demand that our party make way for "Bud Royer" to come through. We got out of the way as well as we could, but she continued to demand that we move more. This, all while, she said nothing to people who were much more "in the way" than our party. After getting through, she elected to confront us because we had a problem with her "make way for the king," name dropping episode. We chose to leave and went across the street to Lulu's, where we were treated like valued guests. In general, this restaurant, from the beginning of our interaction, had an attitude that they were doing us a favor to allow us the privilege of dining with them.

Not even worth a star we had reservations for 6:30 and after 30 minutes waiting and nothing walked across the street to Lulu's immediately recognized us and got us on with no reservation

Stuffy hole in the wall. Air-conditioning window units. Known for country food and pies. Pies didn't look appetizing. We were told go to another restaurant by locals but chose go here unfortunately.

Country hospitality and made from scratch food. Not a lot pf tables and they fill up fast. They don't have a large menu. Instead, they keep it small and master the dishes. Best steak I have ever had in my life!

Prepare for a line if you come in around lunchtime prepare for a very long line if you come in during round top days. It is well worth the wait we had the hamburgers and they were fantastic. We also had cheesy grits with jalapeño. They had a really good flavor, but they were served cold and maybe warm would’ve been better, you got a try the desserts you get a free ice cream scoop if you’re a teacher military or police. This is the place to eat if you’re here by all means.

We recently had the Sunday fried chicken and it was delicious. Put this on your bucket list now. The food was awesome and the cherry pie was heavenly. The service was Five Star. If you are in the area you gotta go to Royers. Make a reservation because they are always booked.
