It is tucked away inside the Fredonia hotel. The food is decent and the service is always nice. We have never had to wait on a table.

We had breakfast here. The food was better than most breakfasts. However, the service was terrible. We counted 6 tables occupied and 3 servers. We only saw our server when she brought our coffee and took our order, when she brought the food, when she came back much later to see if she could take any of our plates, and of course to bring our bill. She never came by to see how we were doing or if we needed coffee refills. We really felt like we were forgotten by her.

Food was excellent. I got the crab cake Benedict which was amazing and husband got the banana bread french toast which was also very good. Good service.

We love the calamari appetizer! I had the fish and chips today. It was fresh and crispy. The napa salad was perfect with it as well. Always fresh and tasty here!

Amber our server was really great friendly and was checking up on us every 5 mins! I can’t forget Micheal Garica who also took care of us! The food I can’t even begin to say it was amazing from start to finish! The chicken fried steak with the white gravy and eggs made to perfection!

The food selection was below avrage. I decided to order the 23 dollar 8 oz steak frites to see if the food was actualy worth it because from what I was told it is one of the better restaurants in town. The steak was to be cooked medium rare but came out medium and to be honest I would rather have a 6oz steak from roadhouse. Nothing was wrong with the steak and I ate all of it though it was not a 23 dollar steak and the small amount of damp fries I paid a dollar extra for did not help the price. The lemon chicken was one of the more recommended items I heard so I also ordered that though it was not half bad and is probably one of the best items on their menu but again for $14 I could've got 2 frozen lemon chicken meals from Wal-Mart that would have tasted the same if better.

First rate food and service in a mid century setting. We’ve never had a bad experience and have been surprised by how tasty the meals are—Gruene enchiladas, Sunday Supper. Maybe next I won’t be so hungry and will take time to take a pic. 😉

Very pleasant atmosphere. Ordered chorizo and eggs. The chorizo was very spicy and lacking in flavor. I will order something else next time. The chocolate peanut butter banana bread French toast sounds intriguing. I’ll definitely go back.

This place is great! It's in a beautiful retro 70's hotel with a great view of the pool. I got the best Chicken and Waffles I've ever had in my life. Skylar was our server and she was the best! I highly recommend!

My husband and I had eaten at 1st City Cafe last fall and were impressed with the food and waitstaff. The first visit was a week day and today's visit was Saturday. It seemed very chaotic with staff standing around and customers waiting for service. The bus boy could carry only a few dishes so it took multiple personnel to clean one table. We sat waiting for someone to take our order for almost 20 minutes and it was not crowded at all. The chicken fried steak that was excellent last year was mostly breading today. Yes, it was the size of our plate but the actual meat was half that. Don't know what has happened to this restaurant, but it is doubtful we will return. No one should have to wait that long for drinks, salad and main course to be delivered from kitchen.
