My wife loved the cold brew, but the food was nothing special and over-priced. Least friendly staff we encountered across the Gage properties. Nice outdoor tables out front to sit and relax.
After a wonderful experience in Big Bend National Park, we wanted a non camp breakfast and this little place fit the bill. Delicious latte and the avocado toast was so good. Thick whole grain bread with crunchy crust. My husband had the Cowboy Burrito with avocado and it was so well prepared that he almost ordered a second. You won't be disappointed if you choose this little gem.
Coffee was great, biscuit gravy not so much
Great service, coffee is good and the breakfast items are tasty
Really disappointing experience after a lovely stop at the Gage Hotel to stretch our legs after visiting Big Bend. My friends and I visited this bar about 25 minutes til closure and ordered several drinks. One friend who ordered did not receive her drink after several others did who had ordered after her. Eventually, she asked about a drink that was sitting up on the bar, inquiring if it was hers, and one of the baristas said that it was. She took it and was walking over and had raised it to her lips when another barista yelled that it was his coffee and for her to give it back. They had indeed forgotten her coffee and turned everything off in preparation to close and so she got a gross, barely lukewarm chai on this cold breezy day at full charge. Shortly after that, we were summarily shooed out of the building (literally “We gotta close so Shoo, get out!”) pretty rudely by the same barista who had the brilliant idea to put his own personal coffee up on the bar at a coffee shop. This may be about a specific employee, and that’s all, but it reflected poorly on this establishment and the town of Marathon in general. Looking forward to a future visit to the Gage Hotel, but I’ll pack my Keurig and a thermos, thanks.
Stopped by for lunch on our way to Big Bend. Great vibe, great service and incredible food! We both had the Warm Power Bowl- hers with delicious smoked salmon, mine with chicken. The bowls were packed with yummy, healthy ingredients. Such a fortunate find! We’ll be back soon!
Great food, excellent coffee, amazing smoothies (when they have them)
This photo is half of my $13 turkey Ruben from v6. After eating the first half of the turkey Ruben I thought boy, sure didn’t taste any turkey. So I peel the second uneaten half of it to reveal that little sliver of whatever the heck that is. I actually had to take a moment to realize that was the turkey on the sandwich. Like I get brickvault is expensive so maybe get a new supplier. But that amount of turkey on a turkey Ruben is no less than embarrassing and a lot more of something else. It’s quite shameful. Slapping a bunch of jarred kraut and dumping dressing on it doesn’t do anything for it. It’s so bad, how that leaves the kitchen is beyond me.
We always stop here when passing through. Everything is good at a reasonable price.
Did a quick stop at this cute coffee shop to grab some food and coffee before heading back to Austin, and it was a great decision. Super friendly staff, plenty of drink options and great breakfast menu. I ordered a flavored latte with vanilla and oat milk, and a cowboy burrito. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend to make a stop here on your way to Big Bend.
Stopped here after camping to warm up before riding for the day. Great coffee, blueberry pie, service and great social place
Wife had an experience with the girl at the bar that was pretty unfavorable. If there had been another open option we would have just left. Coffee and muffins were good.
Very nice breakfast place.
We stopped for breakfast and coffee on our way to Big Bend. It was delicious and we ended up getting a breakfast sandwhich & burrito to go so we’d have lunch in the park!
Small local coffee shop is part of the Gage Hotel. Staff is amazing and very helpful. Food is great made to order fresh by the wonderful ladies in the kitchen. Homemade soup , wraps , power bowls, salmon and cookies. Craft coffees and local beans ground fresh to orders. It's connect to the V6 collection gift shop so you can browse as you wait. Stop by and enjoy fresh coffee and Expresso along with fresh smoothies and protein powder options. It's a must to stop in if you are passing through Marathon Tx.
A quaint and refined café with a wonderful gift shop next door. I appreciate that their lunch options range from smoothies and salads to heavier and more substantial meals. Their menu featured vegetarian and vegan options. The coffee was delicious and sourced locally. Restrooms were clean and the service was stellar - would highly recommend if you are looking for a bite to grab before/after embarking on a long drive.
Migas were terrific. Bold roast ☕ tasty.
Good healthy and vegetarian options. A few outdoor tables for two under cover.
Rude service. Their staff could improve on their customer service. My husband and toddler were treated rudely while we were in Marathon for M2M. We will never step foot in there again as this is the 2nd year we’ve experienced their unfriendly service while there for M2M.
While their coffee was REALLY GOOD, everything else was kinda meh. For the price you pay for, the breakfast was okay tasting, but the amount of food they give you sucked. I ordered a side of potatoes and they literally gave me just three pieces of potato wedges. For bacon, only got two pieces when most places give three. The eggs looked like just one was given, not two, etc. The employees seemed alright and nice (except one who seemed to talk to us differently than he did the WASP customers), but we didn't like how little service was given, like we still had to get up and get our food, etc. I don't understand places that ask for tips yet don't actually do anything to deserve it. The place was cool, I guess, but nothing to brag about. This place just seemed more hyped up than it deserved. Also, my fiance and I felt uncomfortable, we were the only Hispanic/Latinx people there, besides one of the employees. Everyone that came through as customers were WASPs. As someone who works with diversity and inclusion at my job, this is no bueno. This may have to do with pricing or atmosphere, there was not one Black American or Hispanic/Latinx person that walked through the door, and we were there for about an hour just hanging out and maybe 15-20ish groups of customers came through (they were really busy). This place obviously does not cater to other ethnic groups, it appeals to only WASPs which is really discouraging and adds to our experiences of microaggressions and covert racism.
