My old favorite has become my new favorite. What a transformation, from down-home country breakfast to country cuisine. It's definitely a must for travelers and locals.

The food is bad. We ordered the salmon and the chicken fried steak and both were horrible. Nice atmosphere and the service was great but the food was almost insulting. Not going back. Real shame.
Really good food! Loved our server Sabrina. She was very attentive and made the experience wonderful. Will definitely come back when I come back to Huntsville.
A far cry from the hole in the wall diner it used to be, but that’s not at all a bad thing. While it is on the pricier side for a breakfast in Huntsville, it is definitely worth it because the portion size, professional and friendly service, and quality of ingredients warrants the price of admission. Will definitely be coming again, but certainly as a treat
We would not stay after being seated. If you want to eat shoulder to shoulder with the unknown person next to you, then this is the place for you. We left. The menu was like any other place in this huntsburg, absolutely nothing special...will not be back ....one and done. How many chicken fried steak and hamburger places do we need here???
Google needs to update their listing because the Cafe Texan is back open, under new ownership and has amazing food and is gorgeous!!! You gotta check this place out when you are in Huntsville and the History Museum attached to it is incredible and a must see!
(Review for the Reopened Cafe Texan Opening Day 5/15/23) I went to the original Cafe Texan about 4 years ago and had a nice experience in the old fashioned diner. But today me and 2 friends waited outside the Cafe Texan at 5:30am and were the first customers of the reopening. It was a privilege. The service, food, and atmosphere were top notch. One of the greatest restaurant experiences I’ve ever had! And to top it off it has one of the most incredible museums I’ve seen and I’ve been to the Smithsonian! This sounds like I’m sponsored but I’m not. I’m just a happy local and a new Cafe Texan regular. Happy to say the new Cafe Texan carry’s on the legacy of the original and raises the bar in every way. 10/10 Experience.
Wonderful restaurant I’ve been to before COVID and renovations. Am excited to go since then. Will probably stop by today for old time sake and get something!! Glad to see they’re back open.
Location closed(due to pandemic and city ordinance shenanigans) and sold to someone else whom is renovating location. Loved this cafe and I hope when it reopens that they keep some of the same feel and food.

Jessica has the Best customer service. Pattie melt & grits!!!! I would give 5 stars but the cook didn't flatten my Pattie out & I had more bread then meat.

If you want to feel a part of the family, this is the place to be. The servers always treat/greet you like a best friend they haven't seen in a while. The food is hot, fresh and tasty. Made to order. Unlimited coffee refills and free WiFi. Great location near the library and gov buildings.
A great place to eat and see the history or Huntsville! This is truely a place to visit to see how Huntsville has changed over the past 50 years.
