Our experience was awful. It took 50 minutes after ordering to get some of the food, and an additional 15 minutes before everyone had what they ordered. Extremely disappointed after reading so many good reviews. We made it a point to plan a stop here during our road trip. Staff wasn’t able to keep track of what’s going on. Sausage gravy didn’t have any sausage in it, portions were small, food served cold, overpriced and wasn’t anywhere near the quality others have posted pictures of. We’re all looking forward to lunch because we’re all still a bit hungry after paying for the meals here. Coffee was good but don’t expect a refill. Voiced our displeasure, but no remedy was offered other than a sorry that didn’t seem very sincere as they moved on to the next patron.

Really really great food. Absolute gem. Had brunch here this morning and they were busy and the staff was buzzing around and attentive. Thanks y’all!

What a fun surprise in a little town! My kids were wowed by the pancakes and I indulged in a lavender latte!! I had the omelette! Delicious! Will definitely return!

We were coming home from San Antonio and needed a place to stop for lunch. We googled nearby restaurants and Darlin’s Diner came up. I’m so glad we decided to stop. Flatonia is an adorable little town and Darlin’s Diner sits right in the middle of the town strip. The restaurant is absolutely precious. Very vintage and trendy all at the same time. There are a few instagramable spots inside. The whole restaurant has a cozy and welcoming vibe. The service was great and the food even better. Please, ignore the finger indentations on my burger — I picked it up before I remembered to take a photo. The food prices are very reasonable. I also had a vanilla latte and it was 🤌🏼 chefs kiss! So, if you’re ever in the area swing through and try out the little diner and see what else Flatonia has to offer you and your family. Follow us on instagram @sc_crew_family

We ate there on two occasions for breakfast with meal vouchers from the Ollie Hotel. The atmosphere is friendly and the food was tasty. The biscuits are quite good. My complaint is that the food was luke warm when received to our table on both occasions and that the prices on the menu didn’t match the prices charged. I will not return again.

What an amazing and cute or should I say Darling place. The food was delicious. We stayed at the olle bed and breakfast place. They no longer make breakfast so they sent us over there. We can't say enough good things about this adorable place. Food was good, the place was clean and staff was sweet.

Atmosphere was amazing, all of the staff who was working that shift stopped by to talk to us or help us as needed. They even gave us a tour of their private event loft upstairs! Loved this place a lot

This place is a jewel located halfway between San Antonio and Houston. We liked it so much we visited it again on our return trip.

Patty Lee at Holmans Steakhouse suggested we stop by Darlin’s on our way back home… it was a Gem of a place and the food was great. Two great combinations… evenings at Holmans Steakhouse and breakfast at Darlins..

Nice interior, best French toast I’ve ever had, hint of cinnamon unbelievable. Bacon is real and perfectly cooked the name of the omelette isn’t a lie it’s huge and very well done. They actually cook the omelette with the toppings you prefer instead of just adding them to the top. Overall 10/10

If you’re driving along I-10 east of San Antonio, Darlin’s Diner is a must stop in historic Flatonia. My wife and I were on the way to Houston for the Final Four from San Antonio and spontaneously decided to stop for a quick breakfast. How we came across this hidden gem is unknown, but we’re glad we stopped. Unfortunately, no pictures to share because leaving a review was an afterthought. Nevertheless, the food is amazing, atmosphere very homey, and service was quick. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.
