Was taken for the Chef's Tasting for a special weekend. First time, in which almost $400 was spent and had service as if I paid $15 at Taco Bell. The server was very robotic, not communicative at all, didn't explain anything about the food (7 different servings and nothing said about any of them), and one time he had to look at the menu to see which wine he was serving.

Omg!!!!! Best meal of my life. Must haves... tuna tartar, Caesar salad, fried green beans, steak special, sea bass, short rib. I can't even start there, the dessert!!! Must haves.. chocolate cake, chocolate souffle, honey cake. And most of all the home made ice cream, vanilla and expresso chocolate was to die for. Must must go.

Waitstaff was very helpful, friendly and attentive. Overall the food was very good however 4 out of the 9 courses were difficult to enjoy because they were incredibly salty. One dish was so salty for me that it was inedible. Very disappointing because otherwise this would have been a 5 star review.

Umm. Winter mode I guess. Still we tipped well and above what we received. Just not for us. Hostess was lovely.

Food was good but staff was rude and inconsiderate. Not worth dealing with in my opinion.

Ok. So I don’t leave reviews. But words really don’t even describe how great this place is. Have you ever had a chef touch the table you’re dining at? I hadn’t either. Amazing. Delicious. Second to none. 10 stars!

The owner treats customers extremely poorly. She is very rude and gets offended over nothing.

When walking into Local, it's as though time stopped. Between the atmosphere, culinary genius from owner and Chef Tracy this historic landmark is sure to delight many with the interior design and comfortable ambiance.

Disappointing, overpriced and brutal service. Don’t bother, go elsewhere. Tasting menu, $125, nothing special, tiny portions. Not one dish stood out to our group. They essentially kicked us out after our meal despite saying we could stay and enjoy as long as we wanted. $500+ later and we regret going. Not worth the money whatsoever.

Chill atmosphere, steak was phenomenal. Fried string beans were great! Dessert was awesome -home made! Pricey but a special place with personal attention to your meal quality and that is a rarity.

Had a booking for weeks they would not honour, showed them proof but just did not care. We were dressed well and were not intoxicated or anything untoward. There was no reason for them to say no apart from a large ‘group booking’. Disgusting customer service, we planned our entire night around the booking and they were so unaccommodating and uncaring. Nasty behaviour that left a nasty aftertaste.

If you have the opportunity to do the tasting menu here, do it!! What a treat! It was such a great sampling of their delicious dishes. Soups, fish, beef, dessert...wines paired perfectly. I'll be back for a standard dinner to have the sea bass.... that dish stole the show for me. Fantastic!! The staff was awesome, each dish was described, each wine introduced. Courses came out at a perfect pace. The ambience inside is very minimal, not too fancy not-- too laid back. Just a really clean modern vibe. It was a perfect anniversary celebration. I'm looking forward to going back.

A very average experience not in line with the prices. Both orders of the Steak Special/filet mignon had large amounts of gristle to the point I'm convinced it wasn't even tenderloin. The AC was barely keeping up with the temperature (~95°) which is completely understandble...but when the cooking started the restaurant got quite smokey and the front and back doors were opened to air it out. All in all, a disappointing experience when only in town for one evening; if I were local I would certainly give it a chance at redemption as other menu items seemed promising but it is unlikely we would return to Local.

Had a great experience here when an organization rented out the side room and had appetizers served. Staff was attentive and nice.

I’ve been coming here forever… it’s simple, the type of place you just go & tell them how hungry you are and they’ll take care of you. They think of everything a neighbourhood staple everyone should try once.

This is my go to celebration restaurant. Everything I have had on the menu has been high quality and tasted great, from starting nut mix(and I normally hate nuts) to the grilled cheese sandwiches to the short ribs. The tasting menu is fun but you also can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Service has always been great every time I have gone as well.
