The new Ascension is beautiful! They have a big patio which makes it nice for a weekend brunch spot. Food was great, service is great, and I always love the coffee. I definitely recommend!
Empty tables inside and out Was told there would be a 45 minute wait Advise going elsewhere
Sat on patio, fresh meat and cheese tray, excellent customer service. Was a little warm for the patio and the flies were an utter nuisance but we moved inside and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Excellent customer service meat and cheese tray was a delight. Nice ambience.
I really liked the vibe of this place. I sat in a big leather chair in the back, inside next to the kitchen door and the door close to the bathrooms. The wait staff was very nice and offered suggestions during the busy brunch Sunday. I ordered the mushroom coffee with an espresso shot and a mimosa. Then a Tex-Mex omelette with potatoes. All the food came out beautifully plated and hot. Sunday Brunch is busy, expect to wait a little. I suggest a designated food runner during busy times.
I've been here a few times now and the food always hits the spot. I've had the brunch burger, smoked turkey club, and fried chicken sammie. All three have been amazing. My favorite though was the smoked turkey club, it was my first time having dill-caper spread on a sandwich! I also always get the frites, so crunchy and well seasoned ! They have a wide variety of coffee as well, however, I enjoy the drip coffee and haven't had a chance to try any other ones. My brother always gets the pancakes and a side of eggs. I'm not a big pancake fan but these are amazing! Would definitely recommend. Apart from the food, the atmosphere here is really nice. Super cozy, and the waiters are always attentive. The artwork inside is one of my favorite things. They also have outside dining available. The only thing that can be a little tricky is the parking. I've been lucky enough to come when there's been parking spots available but it does get quiet full. Especially since there are apartments right next to it.
Just a charming atmosphere and coffee to sit and chat with friends and family.
Great place, plan to go back soon
The location is beautiful so it is a great spot to have a coffee and breakfast. Their outside seating has a lot of shade as well! The staff was very helpful and kind. They have unique twists on the classic coffees while also delivering on the classics. The brunch was good but not great for the price of $13-15.
Yum brunch and drink spot reasonably priced
Love the ambiance and service at this location. The coffee and food are delicious!
I love the coffee from this place, but the food was horrible. Everything just seem like it was flavorless and missing seasoning. The burger i ordered was bland and my girlfriend’s migas needed to be drenched in sauce to have any flavor.
UPDATE 4/29/2023 - This is my third time visiting, I came with my mom the second time and enjoyed our stay, our food and the vibe. Our server was nice, she seemed new, but did a very good job at making us feel welcomed. My only complain would be for the Waffle and Chicken plate, the chicken was delicious, crispy, juicy, and well seasoned but the waffle was soooo small, I felt like they ran out of batter half way through. Other than that I enjoyed my visit, but on my third visit I decided to bring my family to try it out I felt like the service was lacking. We where left waiting for a while before we could order. We had asked for their lighter roast coffee, but received their dark, and when we told the server she said that we had the light roast. But I know what their light roast tastes like since this is something we discovered on our second visit. When the server brought us a refill of the coffee, it was the correct light roast, so we thought maybe she just served us from the wrong container the first time and did not notice, but on the third refill we where back to the dark roast. This time they were out of the chicken and waffles, we had ordered two of the Tex Mex omelets and they were missing the green cilantro on top, and one of them was really greasy. The pancakes were not as big or fluffy from my first visit. In all It was not a terrible visit, but it was no the best out of all the times I've visited, but unfortunately for the new people I brought they did not enjoy themselves. I had a good experience with the service, so nice and professional. My visit was on a Sunday around 3pm, they were out of the French Toast and a couple of other things, they were very busy, so I decided on the pancakes. They were good, a little raw in the middle but they fixed that immediately. The pastries were delicious as were the drinks. My only complain would be that the chai latte was a little light on the flavor. Other that’s that I loved my visit and would be back again
Love this new coffee spot in East Dallas! The renovation of the old church makes this coffee bar feel cozier and extra special. The avocado toast is a must. If you like spice, the turmeric latte is uniquely delicious and creamy.
I’ve been here three times. It’s been a hit or miss of having okay service. Sometimes you feel like a burden of being here & other times it is friendly service. Today was not good:/ Also. This place is not bilingual friendly. I’ve seen many tourist mostly from South America coming here having trouble to order.
Nice new coffee spot
What a great spot!! Such friendly servers, delicious food & coffee.. So many options. & super cool interior as well ♡
IG ads brought me here. Coffee was great. Too crowded to sit and enjoy at location… but White Rock is a few min drive away so it worked out.
This hidden gem is amazing for coffee, brunch, and breakfast! Can't wait for summer to dine in the patio area!
Love the food and coffee. Their food honestly is so delicious and consistent. They have definitely figured out the service here since the the opening. Couldn’t be anymore happier with having this location. Thank you!!!
