My first time ever here! Was super excited based off the reviews. Unfortunately had a bad experience the front counter guy didn't have the best customer service and just seemed lost majority the time I told him what I wanted with my order. Crossiants were sold out and that was the MAIN reason why we wanted to try the place but wasn't told until we were next. The brisket kohlache was good and so was the coffee. Probably won't go again Unfortunately. PLEASE train your employees correctly!!

I’ve tried super hard to give this place a chance, but alas, after several tries, I can’t take the rudeness from some of the staff. It tends to be when I ask for no plastic to go ware. Since I arrive on foot, I drink/eat on the patio and before leaving, always bus my table (I used to wait tables!). I’m apologetic to the staff in my request and fully communicate my intention is to reduce plastic waste, not to be petty. Its evident it irritates them and leaves a bad feeling, especially after you’ve left a generous tip! This is not an unreasonable request, in my opinion. On other occasions I am browsing purposely away from the register trying to decide what to buy, with no one else in line, and get a borderline hostile stare with a loud “can I help you?!” Not a chill vibe whatsoever. Just harshness for no reason.

Love the coffee and Kolaches! But it’s the second time this has happened - Placed doordash order at 8:23 am, it’s 9:30am the dasher is still waiting at the store for the order. Won’t be returning here, didn’t even order coffee this time, just Kolaches, unless they are freshly baked per order basis, this delay doesn’t make sense.

Great little bakery. Ordered sausage and cheese kolache and a ham & cheese croissant. Croissant was the flakiest croissant I've had. Coffee is Medici coffee which has a very specific flavor. All in all good choice for a quick breakfast

Visiting from Seattle and this was just what we were looking for in a coffee shop. A clean local coffee shop with the added bonus of an in-house bakery. The cinnamon roll was gooey and sweet. Maybe just a little too sweet for me, but delicious nonetheless. Hubby had a breakfast sandwich on a croissant that was made to order, not made up ahead of time. Everything was fresh and good! Americano and drip coffee hit the spot!

This place is amazing. Best crossiants in town by a long shot and the employees are so hospitable. Very impressed!

Great kolaches and good coffee. My only issue is that you never know if you're getting a full sausage in your kolaches or one cut in half. As far as I can tell there's no way to select full sausage kolaches which makes me think there's either confusion in the kitchen or sometimes they try to save cost by cutting them in half. But if you get it on the right day there's no better kolaches in Austin. Thank you for replying

The food here is excellent. The care taken to make the food and ensure the quality is the same every time is exceptional. The customer service is always pleasing and the staff has always steered me in the right direction when giving me recommendations on what to try. I appreciate the attention to the full experience that I have always received at Teal House and look forward to eating here again real soon!

The best cinnamon rolls in Austin, Texas. Cinnamon rolls were fresh and did not taste overly sweet. Instagram: food_and_travel0

If you want the best cinnamon roll....and other goodies...in town, then Teal House is a must. The staff is always warm and inviting and treat you like you are family. The coffee is amazing as well!! No matter if you are looking for a quiet place to work or a spot to hang with friends this is the place. Breakfast, lunch and snack options are all available. Take some home to the family or to the office for your co-workers. This is an experience you don't want to miss....trust me.

They never have gf options and aren’t willing to accommodate customers. Also experienced someone waiting for their food for an extended time and when she asked what’s taking so long, the response was, “well if you order food, they all have to stop what they are doing, (preparing food, but for who???) in order to make yours.” Terrible preparation and customer service. The coffee isn’t really anything to write home about either. This was my second chance in hopes the first times was just a one off.

What makes this quaint little bakery off south Congress so special? The caring employees and the softest sweet kolaches you could ever eat. I recommend anyone in need of sweet breads and coffee make a pit stop here. PS-I wish I took pictures of these kolaches before devouring

The mere smell of the cinnamon rolls gave me a dopamine rush so intense that had me bed bound for the entirety of the day. During this day I thought of nothing other than the blissful moments I had the privilege to share with the pastry. I now often think of what life would be like if I had never came contact with it, the thought sends me down a path filled with gruesome nightmares, fevers, and withdraws. I now have to make weekly visits to ease my suffering but it’s a healthy addiction I swear. Don’t be afraid to join me on this cycle of dependency. It’ll make you much happier.
