Superb small batch coffee w/ the plenty of space for kids to run around. Food trucks are a big bonus on Saturday and Sunday.
Great cold brew. Great space for working or chilling.
It's a pretty and comfortable place with good coffee. Thanks!
**Update 04/09/23 - New food truck. Black Sheep Soul. Had a crab bene that was so exquisite I almost felt bad eating it in my bike shorts with a pint of stout. Proper hush puppies to boot. Salty and crunchy on the outside, sweet and soft on the inside with actual roasted corn. **Update 10/26/21 - These guys are open with the full beer, wine, pastry, and coffee needs in the renovated space. Great décor, clean bathrooms, good wifi, and great smells from the in-house roasting. Great music and events on the weekend that are exactly what makes Austin great for all walks. Expanded food offerings from other trucks on the weekends. The "extra short" cortado might have Houndstooth beat now...** There's also a breakfast taco truck that was fantastic. I dropped in today and definitely THE BEST cortado south of the Colorado, second only to Houndstooth (just barely). I'm excited to see the space and very excited to have an option down south. Nice little setup with picnic tables. Coffee truck is white on the left side of the photo and taco truck on right. Thanks to Jake for saying hi and checking on your staff. Best of luck and look forward to stopping in the future. Welcome to Oak Hill!
The service and atmosphere were very nice but the iced latte I got I couldn't even drink a second drink of because of the taste and they don't offer cold foam or even whipped cream.
I stopped in at Madrone after flying into town for a wedding in Dripping Springs. This place was amazing! The building they're in is an old stone building that is super unique. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and even a stage outside for live music - for which there was some when I was there was some going on when I was there! The coffee is absolutely delicious as well. I got a cappuccino to start and later an iced americano and they were both perfect. Can't wait to get back here!
Great spiced latte! Love the old Austin feel of this place. Great place to chill.
The coffee shop is adorable. It has a playscape for the kids, and a lovely indoor and outdoor space. They had a fire in the hearth because it was cold, and some wonderful live music. All that was perfect. BUT the coffee was awful. I love coffee and test many shops, and they had some of the worst I've had. Also, they messed up our order, and it took way too long to make the coffee. I was disappointed because the shop itself is perfect. Too bad the coffee and service didn't match.
This place is incredible! Baristas are all super nice and the lattes are way better than Starbucks. Atmosphere is great too.
I love coming here to get coffee! The staff are friendly and are very welcoming to coffee newbies. If there is something you are not sure about, they will answer your questions with such passion for coffee! Now you are wondering, why the 4 stars? I really like to study here and I am bummed out by the fact that this place closes at 5 PM. I was hoping to come here to study at night before a closing time of 9 PM possibly. I understand that the crew doesn't probably want night shifts, but I was hoping for a night time coffee. That would be awesome!
I love this spot. Every drink I’ve had here has been amazing—except one. And when I let them know that I didn’t enjoy it, they made me something else with no fuss. The ambiance, coffee, and baristas are all top-notch.
sweet food trucks outside, good coffee, relaxing atmosphere, great music. So happy I recently found this gem! Music and atmosphere is so important to me, I love how calm this place makes me feel.
Ordered some of their medium / dark roast online. This stuff is amazing. Will order lots more
Very Special. Coffee. Friendly Staff. Vibrant Community. Beautiful. Old building vibrating hundreds of years of memories. Just go. Be happy.
My favorite coffee venue in Austin. This place is awesome. Great historic building and decor. The coffee is the best you can get in Austin. The staff are super friendly and fantastic to talk to. Live music and open mic night are fun nights. The food is great too. If you want a South Austin place to relax and enjoy an awesome lattee this is the place.
Delicious coffee and mixed coffee drinks. Love stopping here when in SW Austin.
This place is one of my favorite hangs in Austin! It's in a historic stone building, the coffee is delicious, the people are friendly, and they often have delicious taco trucks and great live bands outside. Sit outside and listen to live music while you have your coffee and breakfast tacos, or sit inside by the fire inside the evocative stone building.
Mountain cabin vibes. Has a cozy inside with a piano and fireplace, a more intimate upstairs lounge and a large backyard with lots of tables and a playground. This is my go to coffee shop in oak hill.
Do not recommend South Austin, better try other Coffee houses nearby!!! I order the specials which usually cost over $8 with tips and taxes for a single beverage but the barista wasn't willing to put efforts in making this expensive beverage. Maybe I was unlucky to catch the bad barista on shift when I visit but that shouldn't matter as the management is responsible to hire qualified, hard working people who think making coffee is an art which is the reason why we're willing to spend $8 for their coffee over $1 gas station coffee. My Hazelnut mocha was watered down, filled to the max, and consequently half of the cup got spilled as I was carefully carrying the cup to the table. I don't sweat on the small stuff like this but when I tried to politely give feedback to the barista she wasn't interested in listening to it or offer an apology or even an acknowledgement for the criticism just a big stare at my face. Also I didn't complain about the spilled drink but instead focused my feedback on the beverage. This is just bad business and I hope this feedback is taken on positive light to help the management improve upon their service and not take the patrons for granted.
I was visiting from Boston, playing a music festival in the area, and this was a really great spot to get some good food, beer, coffee, and get myself organized. The vibe here is of a Texan ranch mixed with new school hipster coffee shop, with ample indoor and outdoor seating and food trucks surrounding the building, it's got a little bit of everything. On top of it, after finding out that I was visiting from Boston, one of the owners literally just gifted me a bag of their finest coffee, which I took home to Boston with me, and drinking a cup of it right now. Packsaddle Blend - a very well balanced roast :)
