We like Loro! Came at 1130 on Memorial Day to give the place a try. Of course we know of Aaron and Uchi so needed to see what Loro was all about. Get the smoked brisket rice bowl.
Loro is one of Austin’s providers of tasty unique eats. Each menu item seems to effortlessly appear from the kitchen specifically crafted for a discriminating palate. However, no matter how unexpected and different the dish is, the result is the same - yummy, yummy! Just go!
The Loro burger is soo tasty! Drinks are refreshing and strong. Their rice bowls were unique and flavorful. Potatoes are a no go though they were too burnt tasting.
Very interesting Asian BBQ fusion concept. I came in around 2pm Saturday and was still pretty busy but no need to wait. Challenging to find parking at peak hours.
First time here, from Minnesota. It was all DELICIOUS!! DEFINITELY WORTH IT!! I wish the papaya salad was a bit spicier but that's about it. 👍🏼
Food here was a mixed bag. The Caramelized Cheddar Burger was awful and I tasted no caramelized onions, cheddar or the spicy pickles that were supposed to be on it. The brisket plate was really good but you don’t really get much brisket for the $20 price tag. Corn fritters were good too but they tasted like something you could get at any bar. Also, we waited on line at the bar for a while and right before it was our turn to order, the older woman behind the bar yelled back, “I have to count my drawer so you’re gonna have to order somewhere else unless you wanna wait longer.” Overall it was an average experience and I’ll be in no rush to return
Awesome food, we really loved the corn fritters and beef brisket. Frozen gin and tonic was also tasty.
Great for non-vegetarians, but they do have tofu and a plethora of sides of course if that’s your thing. I was told by the person who took my order that if they gave the Impossible Burger or Beyond Burger their special treatment it still “wouldn’t be meat”. No, duh! That’s kinda the point! The jasmine rice is very delicious though! I took the photo of the dish and was told that it was very good.
Visit Austin from LA, and this place is a must-try Asian BBQ fusion restaurant and Bar! Highly recommended! You will not be disappointed! The food was tasty, delicious, unique, and had creative flavors. We all loved the dishes we ordered (pics) The line seems long but moving fast. You can check in with the host in the front and choose to either dine in or outdoors. When you get seated, scan the QR code and go to the bar to order your food and pay there; they will bring it out. A bit weird on this part, but I guess this is how they operate!
The three bean salad is amazing, great combination of spiciness and vinegar. My favorite dish is the Asian pear kale salad with grilled salmon added. The smokiness of the salmon complements the sweetness of the pear and the vinaigrette. My friend tried the curried shrimp rice bowl, which was light and well-composed. I love the frozen gin and tonic, which is the perfect patio refresher.
The food was fantastic. Hipster downtown ambience. Large outdoor seating. The lunch service was a little slow, but they were very busy. Overall good food good drinks. Great location. There’s additional parking in the back.
Everything here is delicious. The flavor combinations are unique and they really pop. My favorite is the chicken bo ssam, but you can't go wrong with the karaage. Also the Kyuri Mule is phenomenal.
Wow! This place was amazing! Very surprised at how good this was! The food was super fast - I ordered the chicken karaage and it was at the table before I sat back down! The snap peas and potatoes were also delicious. It's hard to find a place that makes dipping sauce that enhances the flavor instead of covering up or fixing flavors and the potatoes and snap pea dips were excellent complements to the main dish. The slushie flight was fun and really delicious too. When ordering a rice bowl, the guy at the bar gave really good advice about which one to choose and recommended the Bavette or the Salmon for the best cuts of meat. The only downside was the rice bowl had a lot of other stuff I personally don't like on it (pickled cabbage, onions, beets) but the meat and the rice were delicious!!
Holy smokes!!! This is a must try if in Austin!!! Best burger I've ever eaten, amazing brisket, wonton nachos is it's on food group, and yes drinks at top notch. Definitely highlight of my trip.
I had a great time at Loro overall. It gets extremely packed and the line to order food was long. After ordering your food does come quickly! The drinks were good. My favorite was the salmon. Everything else was just ok. I wasn’t super impressed by the flavor or quality of the food. I thought the drinks and atmosphere were the highlight of this place.
I love the simple and casual nature of this restaurant. That doesn't mean the food will disappoint; in contrast, it will surprise how well-executed the dishes are, and you can't go wrong with any of the options offered.
If you're a fan of Texas BBQ and Asian fusion cuisine, then Loro is a must-visit restaurant. This innovative eatery takes the already incredible flavors of Texas BBQ and adds a new dimension with Asian-inspired ingredients and techniques. What really sets Loro apart, however, is the addition of acidity to their dishes. This is something that is often missing from traditional Texas BBQ, but Loro has found a way to add that missing element and take their dishes to the next level. Whether you're enjoying their tender brisket or flavorful pork belly, the addition of acid really brings out the flavors and elevates the entire experience. While Loro is a bit of a departure from traditional Texas BBQ, it still pays homage to the classic flavors and techniques that make it so beloved. The fusion of Asian and Texas flavors is truly inspired, and the execution is flawless. I would come back here over and over and over again, if didn't live thousands of miles away :(
Amazing atmosphere with delicious food! I don’t particularly mind the concept of ordering your own food at the bar. There was a very small wait for a table but we were able to order drinks in the meantime. Also the wait itself was shorter than expected. The food was amazing though. The Chicken Karaage really outshone the Crispy Potatoes and Kale & Asian Pear Salad (both of which were respectively good). Th Smoked Prime Bavette was so satisfying being cooked and plated to perfection. The Smoked Brisket & Curry Shrimp rice bowls were outstanding ; with fresh and balanced flavors that have a unique flavor profile. While the plates were not exceedingly overfilled we did not leave hungry. Drinks were also surprisingly good and fairly priced. 10/10 would recommend!
Great outdoor vibe. Tasty menu items. Snacks and Veggies: Kale & Asian Pear Salad - 4/5 Tomato & Cucumber Salad - 4/5 Elote - 4/5 Meats: Oak Smoked Salmon - 4/5 Smoked Beef Brisket - 4/5 Food was tasty. Brisket was just okay. It actually came out cold.
4.5 stars. Most of their signature meats are available after 4pm only, though dinner portions are supposedly bigger and more expensive than lunch. Food quality: Beef briskets in sandwich are very juicy and tender. Corn fritters are fried with some ingredients and very delicious, good for sharing. Food portion / Price: Portions are as expected as in Texas. Service: Order and pay at counter, food will be delivered to table. Alternatively take bar seats for bar table service. Crowd: Huge space for parking and for people. Expect crowds but there seems to always be space for seating. Payment: Card and cash accepted.
