I should asked for fish and chips. $20 for a sandwich. Jesus. Next.

Whatabeer. The best patty melt I've ever had topped off some delicious (and deliciously fresh) beer. The IPAs were well balanced, the dubbel nailed it with that hint of banana, and even the churro lager was surprisingly well done despite my distaste for sweeter beers. The middle of nowhere is not the middle of nobeer.

Batter for the Fish & Chips was severely burnt. Fries look old like they've been sitting for a while. They were also stuck together when trying to eat them as id they weren't 100% cooked. Bratwurst tasted alright but not super memorable. Patty melt appeared underdressed and needs more cheese and patties. Also kinda weird that patty melt was just plain toast without butter. Everything was just...OK.

The atmosphere was upscale industrial with Jack White playing on the sound system and a full house. The staff was plentiful, friendly and attentive and the bar, tables and restrooms were very clean. I did a flight of their beers and all of them were well made. None blew me away but they were all very good representations of their respective styles. The food was simple and they had very good intentions but unfortunately it wasn't particularly well executed. We ordered the International Sausage Tray and the Fish and Chips. The bratwurst had a very good flavor but was luke warm at best as was the sausage. The sausage however was not only luke warm but very dry. The fish was a very good flavor and reasonably warm but not hot. The fries on both orders were only warm. I will write this meal off as them still in the learning curve as it is still early since their opening. We will try it again but not for another month or so as they get their execution down.

Food so salty we could barely eat it. We ordered the steak and frites, plus one of the grain bowls. Every bite of meat from the steak to the spicy biltong in the grain bowl was so salty, that was all you could taste. We love Belgian frites, but don't understand the generous salt seasoning after brining. Good beer and wine. Probably great food if they'd go easier on the salt. Salt killed out experience.

Wow. This is a great place to come hang out and get a bite to eat. The wine was very tasty. The service was excellent. You will need to be able to walk up a flight of stairs though. (Edit: they do have an elevator)

Fantastic! Nick really knows his beers and is a SUPER nice guy. The beer is delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the view is elevated. I would highly recommend this business and I will be returning the next time I visit Abilene.

This is my first experience with Grain Theory brunch. I'd heard they had the best fish and chips in Abilene and there was no denying that. The batter had a great crunch to it that you could tap on with your fork and enjoy. The fish was juicy, fresh, and flaky. Definitely the best in Abilene and maybe some of the best in the entire state. Also ordered at the table was the breakfast Frites. The bratwurst was amazing and just the right consistency, and the sunny side up egg gave everything a great flavor. Food servings were plentiful, and we couldn't finish (the beer we ordered didn't help with finishing the meal). All in all would recommend as a must stop in downtown Abilene.

Downtown Abilene! Good people, Drink Good Beer! Loved gathering with a friends to try hand crafted IPAs, I-20 west bound to a Starship. Nice & chill environment and the music wasn’t too loud to enjoy conversations. The baloney view at night is relaxing also. The staff is knowledgeable & helpful. They flicker the lights right before 9pm to announce politely they will be closing.
