This is a must stop at if you’re a coffee drinker passing through Erwin. I alway ask the barista to make a latte of their choice for my wife with a few limitation (decaf, oat milk). These ladies hit it out of the park with a butterscotch and honey latte which was so unique and flavorful! The americano I ordered was also perfectly prepared. They are also hiker friendly as Erwin is an Appalachian Trail Town. So you’ll have the chance to meet a thru-hiker and buy them a drink to help them on their way.
The coffee shop had moved down the street since last visit. The new location is much larger, brighter, well decorated, roomy and has a good layout. Staff as always were cheerful, helpful, AND STILL MAKE THE BEST LATTE AND CHAI!!!
I would get my Cortado here just about every morning for the past six months. The people are the best, and the coffee is goooooood. I miss this place dearly. Please do visit.

Such a cute little spot with parking across the street. The menu is very straightforward, everything is reasonably priced. Our drinks were delicious!!
Delicious food (we got the bacon, eggs and cheese wrap) and coffee. Adorable Coffee mugs for sale. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great coffee, the new building looks immaculate. The mountain view free hand painted piece is exceptionally well done. 11/10. If you visit Erwin, this is a must while you're here.
Love the food, atmosphere and friendliness! The added space, artwork and atmosphere makes Steel Rails a treasure for this community and knowing it is community owned and operated make it even a better experience. If you have never visited put it on your to-do list next time you are in the area. You will not be disappointed!

This place is so stinking cute! The staff is always super friendly and fast! You have a ton of choices and they change monthly to got with the season and holidays! I had the white chocolate coconut cream latte iced it was so good! For lunch I ordered the fried Bologna with Lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, and their special sauce... hands down best fried Bologna I've had in a long time! Can't wait tobsee the new place!
Only had a cup of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, but the flavor was great and the strength was spot on.
Exceptional coffee and food
What a quaint coffee shop!!! An unexpected find ...love it. So glad we stopped in. We had a caramel latte and a decaf Americano. Bacon, egg ,& cheese on a croissant and also Corned beef (real corned beef), egg, cheese & croissant(toasted). All was awesome. The Baristas, two young ladies,were so very pleasant!!! Will be back, Definitely!
Stopped in for the first time and wasn't sure what to get so I randomly chose the Cinnamon Roll Latte and it was really good! Also the place smelled delicious when I walked in, so that's always a plus.

My latte was so tasty. Make sure you get a croissant sandwich while you’re there. My husband and I were going to share one but it was so delicious that I sent him back in for another. Unfortunately we’re just passing through but this is a must stop with great prices!
