Chattanooga, TN. House-roasted coffee beans, social justice initiatives, and hilarious marketing drew me in. So the mad priest was a character in The Count of Monte Cristo; mad as in loony tunes, but he helped a guy wrongfully imprisoned turn his life complete around and on this note the idea for this insanely quirky coffee shop was born. You must come here if only for bragging rights and to check out the cool interior but you’ll end up hooked on the coffee. *I’d give them 10 stars for customer service!!! I left my wallet there and Cory bent over backwards to help me! I mean we had stellar customer service while there but when they saved my vacation I now owe them my life lol.

They were welcoming and helpful. We tried two of their seasonal drinks and they were delicious. The atmosphere is electic and fun. It is small inside, but the large window with bar seating is a great spot to people watch.

I’ve been ordering beans through the website for local pickup going on 3 years now. Never had a bad batch. Orders are fulfilled extremely quickly and always a friendly smile when you walk in the door.

We just happen to be driving down the road and the logo painted on the building caught my eye. It is fun and quirky and I knew I had to go back for coffee and find out more about it. First off the coffee... superb👌 Had the Mad Hatter/hot and the Queen of Hearts/cold... truly some unique flavor combos that tasted smooth, slightly sweet and robust. The inside of the shop is small and quaint but decorated with a quirky charm. There is lots of fun merch to buy and I'm big on stickers, there were some great sticker choices. I highly recommend stopping in, grabbing a coffee, sticker and having a chat with the super nice workers.

Truly the best coffee we had in Chattanooga. We visited 4 coffee shops during our stay. The baristas are so friendly and down to earth, and I absolutely love their marketing. My husband won’t stop raving about it and compares other coffee to Mad Priest now.

Best cafè in Chattanooga! Staff are very friendly, familiar with the area and give good food and activity recommendations, the drinks are high quality, the merchandise is creative and fairly priced. The owner definitely cares about the business as they've kept in touch with the farmers of their beans, and go on trips to stay updated on coffee culture around the world. There's iced and hot coffee options, traditional and specialty drink options, and alternative milk options.

My first trip to chattanooga, I tried Chattz, their coffee was delicious.. But then someone told me I HAD to try Mad Priest. After we disappeared for the hurricane in Florida, I needed some fall flavors in my life to make me feel better about everything. Mad Priest did not disappoint. All Hallows Eve was probably one of the best coffee flavor combos I've ever had. And the roast on the coffee was primo. My boyfriend really wanted a campfire like mocha and it wasn't avaliable at that location.. However, the lovely humans behind the counter asked him if there were any other flavors he likes and built him a special custom coffee which he adored. I loved it so much I had to buy some merchandise before we left. Can you bring mad priest to Florida please? I need it in my life.

This is an updated review. The coffee is great and the owner seems nice. The Merch is cool and the coffee beans are always fresh. However, I do wish the female baristas would dress a bit more professionally. A fishnet top (completely open and see-through) with just a black bra underneath for the world to see makes everyone feel uncomfortable. Have some kind of decency…

The baristas are so sweet and helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic and they know their stuff. Their merch / while aesthetic are so sick and I am here for it. Looking forward to ordering more! Thanks guys!

I really wanted to be able to rave about this. Drove fairly far out of my way for it but it was very subpar . I know this is a funny part of a latte to review, but even the ice was disappointing! I love lots of “small” ice cubes and their iced drinks come with 3 oversized cubes. But more importantly, the latte itself was just okay. I was hoping for a fun seasonal iced latte. I ended up ordering a caramel and requested whip cream on top but unfortunately they don’t do that. The latte seemed to be made in a funny order too. Milk, then the flavoring, then the espresso. I am not a barista so can’t speak to that but I always thought it was the opposite order. Nevertheless, coffee was just okay! Kudos to the friendly staff though :) And bonus, it’s attached to a delicious looking bakery!

Mad Priest is easily my favorite coffee shop nowadays. It has such nice flavored coffee and beans that are harvested with good communications with farmers. The freshness is astounding and all different specials are always amazing and flow well with the coffee not overpowering its existence but complimenting it and blending.

Best tasting local coffee in Chattanooga. Sure it helps that they have nice branding and good people (Be Caffeinated is great at these aspects as well), but consistency of product is what truly sets Mad Priest apart.

I was here a few weeks ago, and the Christmas drink my girlfriend got was very cute and also delicious. I got a tea with honey, and it was also very tasty. Loved the drinks and the atmosphere, plus it is next to a bakery!
