This cozy space decorated with local art was the perfect spot to avoid the pouring rain outside. I tried the bacon and blues panini which did not disappoint. Surprisingly, blueberry jam added the perfect amount of sweetness and paired well with the feta cheese, fresh spinach, and savory bacon. I also tried the au lait, which was pretty good.

A very cool coffee shop. Got a frappe that tasted great. I’m just sorry I didn’t discover this place sooner.

This is one of my Favorite coffee shops in the Columbia/USC area. I have had great customer service during each visit. This place has a comfortable vibe, even though it is tight when waiting for food. They have a great selection of drinks, pastries, and food. Haven’t tried the sandwiches yet, but my personal favorite drink is between the Honey + Oats and the Max Daddy. Will definitely be back for future visits.

Terribly rude employees. My friend and I got the same exact drink and hers did not taste the same. She went back to the counter and explained that hers tastes different: burnt, could not taste flavor, or extra shot of espresso, and she was met with rudeness and unwillingness to fix the problem. She said she could just charge her for a new drink, but was unable to remake it. She wasn’t trying to get a free drink or be mean but she should have a coffee that tastes good since she paid for it. Definitely will not be returning due to the horrible customer service, that could’ve easily been fixed.

Took my daughter here to try it out the first time. The drinks were delicious! It’s a college vibe but I was still able to bring my daughter and we played a game while drinking our drinks.

We were walking around the campus and I got thirsty. I wanted to see if there were any local businesses we could visit. I found this place on Google Maps and I got a sweet tea. It was a really cool spot. It feels like a big house, and you walk up the stairs to order. The place was very busy with lots of students coming to hang out or study on a weekend. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here, and the people working were also very nice.

I love the art on the walls, as well as the soup of the day. It's a great place to get a drink, sit down, and study. There is also a shelf of board games if you just want to hang out.

I have been going to cool beans for years now and have loved it all the way up until today. Don't get me wrong if you love coffee they have amazing coffee but if you go somewhere for vibe and experience too then pls read this post. Today I experienced the true intentions of the owner. I was in the middle of doing my bible study and the owner saw that I had not order anything yet. As a loyal customer who has been coming for years, the owner decided to tell me to order something up at the front at that very moment since she saw I did not have anything yet. I was taken off guard because I have been many times and have waited to order something or got something before I left. What has rubbed me wrong was that instead of providing a place where I felt comfortable to order when I wanted, I was forced to order something when she asked. There are also signs saying that I do need to order something while I am there, and I do, just not right when I get there. This experience has showed me that the owner is there just to make profit rather than provide a place for students and others to come and enjoy the coffee shop. I understand that buying something when you go somewhere is the right thing to do so I do it but I don't want to be forced to buy something when someone says so. That to me is bad business. Cool Beans is a good coffee shop and has great qualities but this experience has rubbed me the wrong way. I hope people read this.

Definitely one of my top three favorite coffee shops. The drink called the Perfect Man from Cool Beans is the drink that caused me to start to like coffee. When ever I am in the area I like stopping by to get one. They also have pretty good food if you want more than a coffee.

We are so glad we came across Cool Beans before heading back home. The coffee was very good and the barista was super helpful and kind. We had breakfast downstairs and I don't think we'll soon forget the Farmer's Market bowl! If you think the presentation is off the chain, just wait til you eat it! Absolutely fantastic!! Grits, eggs, goat cheese, spinach, & bean sprouts! We highly recommend this coffee shop!

Very nice little coffee shop and eatery. Went on a Sunday morning and it was quiet. Staff was fantastic! Food was average, but prices were high. It was $8 for a bacon, egg, and cheese.

I came and ordered a sausage egg and cheese biscuit and the biscuit was so hard I couldn’t get my teeth through and then I was told they were made the day before. So then I was offered toast instead of the biscuit and the toast wasn’t toasted at all. Disappointed.
