Best place to sit down and relax in Scranton! I went out of my way to stop here for the catchy name, and loved the vibe. And perfect latte!!!
Love the damiani beans, the excellent service, and the cafe vibe at Northern Lights
Outstanding service and coffee!!
One thing about coffee shops for me is consistency. You want a drink to taste the same regardless of which barista is making it. I'm glad to say that this place always has consistent drinks. The staff is nice, good, food and a nice atmosphere. There is also this little area on the second floor to hangout if you want some extra privacy for studying and such. Definitely check this place out!
Just got hot chocolates, so cant comment on food and coffee. Nice setting.
Took forever, man said our chai tea was ready, told him we ordered large and a small. He's said no you didn't. I said fine that's ok, took the two cups back to the table they were hot coffees. The man behind the counter said we took the wrong ones, they were the only two on the counter, and the wrong sizes he said. Then he brought of the right sizes, with coffee in it not the chai 😠 unbelievable... 😩 go to Starbucks at least you'll get what u ask for and fixed if it's messed up.
Very cozy environment and delicious drinks!
Employees were rude and unfriendly. They are so skimpy with portions that the cream cheese doesn’t even cover a bagel.
very nice staff and delicious drinks, as well as desserts. the one employee, i am not sure of his name, is very sweet and remembers me as a “regular.” 10/10
favorite cafe in scranton, super cozy place to read, play chess, study etc & the tea is delicious! Super friendly staff! :)
My daughter and I attended a kick off party here for the "Festival of Lights " which is a fundraiser for a great cause "Toys for Tots." The spread of food was healthy, vegan, and provided fresh baked chocolate chip and sugar cookies. The bottled water was PH balanced and refreshing. The five star atmosphere reminded me of a well liked coffee bar located in the west village in Manhattan N.Y.C. The cozyness and ambiance of business is simply tranquil. There is also a second floor to drink your Java, grab a wrap, and just decompress. I would recommend this business additionally for a holiday get together, family reunion, or business party.
Very nice coffee shop in downtown Scranton.
Bagel was pretty bland. Toast your own bagel and spread your own cream cheese. Eh….
The shop is so so I gotta coffee and fruit cup and the fruit cup was rotten as attached in picture. I told them and they throw it away and refund me.
Walked in to hear great classics from the 60s... We're off to a good feel start. Eclectic decor, small but airy two-level cafe. Sunday crowd pleasantly conversing or getting something done on their laptops. The eats look great and from the kitchen that's visible from the counter it's clear things are fresh and made in-house.
Coffee is fantastic! Staff is very friendly. This place attracts a large college crowd who are usually busy on their laptops. Upstairs is generally quiet & cozy. Couches & coffee tables
This has been my favorite Scranton cafe for the past two decades. It has always been an escape for me, a lovely place to go and recharge, meet with friends, refresh on a long day and make the most of the short days. The quality of food and drink never disappoint. The staff is always beautifully welcoming & competent. There is space for chatting with friends as well as space for quiet studying or working. My least favorite part is trying to find a parking spot, as it is on the square. But once you do, it is a great central location to wander and explore downtown. Absolutely worth a visit! ❤️
Such a cute place! They have great coffee and light snacks/food. Even a few vegan options!
Incredible espresso. Their standard is a triple ristretto. It's about the volume of a normal double but the amount of coffee of a triple. Very sweet concentrated flavors. Unique!
If you were to ask me where the best place to grab a cup of coffee has been out of all the places I’ve had the pleasure of trying, I would without a doubt hands down recommend Northern Light Espresso Bar in Scranton! I’ve been dreaming of their coffee since I first visited and now make it a point to stop by any chance I get up to the Scranton area! Without fail, they have made me the richest, creamiest, chocolatiest iced mocha latte that I have ever had in my life each time I have dropped by. In addition to their incredible coffee, Northern Light also offers tea, baked goods and more! You have got to try this place out for yourself! Absolutely worth the drive up here for the coffee alone. ☕️
