Great coffee from behind the counter. I also brought a few different sachets and brought them back home. I drunk the first of these today (pumpkin spice) and wow. I've had coffee all over the world, served in so many different styles and the pumpkin spice was awesome. Can't wait to try the rest. Was recommended to go here by a local.
One of my top 3 favorite coffee places in Pittsburgh. They really know coffee. Only thing is that I wished there was a seating area because I like to chill at a coffee shop for a while. However I will say that the last time I was there was in the winter (I don't live near them), and maybe in the warmer weather they have outdoor seating available. Honestly either way they're tops. If you are Downtown in the morning or early afternoon, you won't regret stopping here.
Always smells great walking in the store
When I worked in town I went to Nicholas everyday - absolutely love their coffee. Now working from home, I do make the occasional special trip in town to pick up some coffee to brew at home. Love it! Would definitely recommend! ☕
This wonderful spot for coffee/tea just happens to be convenient to my office. Popped by a few times for an espresso drink. My go-to is an oat cappuccino with almond syrup, but be sure to check out their seasonal/specialty drinks which always sound fun! Huge selection of coffee beans and loose leaf teas to peruse while you wait. Bought a few to try this trip and looking forward to it! Grabbed one of the "oops" ground coffee bags for a discounted something new to try. Will definitely keep coming back.
Excellent service and I love the variety of teas. I recommend this place.
I found Nicholas coffee in Fresh Thyme in Cranberry Twp for the first time earlier this year by fluke and absolutely loved it. This Christmas I decided to buy my family and friends two of my favorite flavors of Nicholas coffee which were Chocolate Raspberry and Double Chocolate Chip as gifts. This morning I have been receiving calls and texts stating that the coffee is absolutely to die for and they thanked me for the same. I would highly recommend Nicholas coffee to any one and everyone and I can't wait to visit the actual OG store sometime soon to try their different blends.
This is coffee heaven!!! So many different flavors and options and they are all amazing. I love the vintage candy and snacks and it's just a very cool place everyone has to go to in Market Square. Everything is very reasonably priced too for how cool of a place it is. One of my new favorite places in downtown
The staff is so wonderful, especially Morgan. I gave an incorrect order and she was still so kind and helpful, and made me what I wanted. And it was delicious! It's a really wonderful place
Great coffee! Everyone was very pleasant!
A truly classy yet warm establishment that smells incredible. The selection of coffees and teas is impressive. They offer cigars, chocolates, coffeemakers, and other knickknacks and confectionaries. I visit often for ground coffee for my Keurig and flavored Torani syrups. I am a fan of the Tasmanian Peaberry and the Peanut Butter coffees. What prompted me to write this review was a helpful associate named Kathy who provided some helpful information and tips. Would absolutely recommend.
Such a cool spot to stop for a cup of coffee! The interior is full of history and there is an incredible selection to choose from. The staff were very friendly and ready with helpful recommendations
Nicholas Coffee is an excellent coffee shop selling a wide variety of fresh roasted coffee and teas as well as other related items. Their coffee and tea selection is probably the best in the city. The staff is courteous and friendly, although at peak times, they can be quite busy as they not only have to wait on customers, but also have to prepare bulk orders to be shipped to restaurants and other retail outlets. In addition to their fresh roasted coffee beans, I highly recommend their coffee bar. It isn't fancy and doesn't offer the range of drinks that you can get at some chain coffee shops, but the price and quality can't be beat.
Wow what a great crew and experience! I called ahead and they answered all my questions. Very friendly customer service. I walked in and was greeted with the smell of coffee. Although I don't drink coffee I bought Yerba Mate at a very reasonable price. The workers here were extremely pleasant. They greeted me as soon as I walked in. Their shop is very organized and detailed. The variety here is incredible. There are so many different types of tea and coffee! Overall the customer service was a 10 out of 10 and I would recommend this place to anyone!
Favorite coffee in Pittsburgh, hands down!
Visit Nicholas on your coffee break! I like their daily coffee selections and sometimes buy whole beans here to keep my office stocked. They have a great selection, the beans are always fresh, and the baristas are super-friendly and make a mean cup of Joe.
5 stars because this place is so affordable! A 12oz americano is $2.00 which is cheaper than the Dunkin next door (no hate toward Dunkin; just a point of comparison). It’s very cute inside and the staff are very friendly. No seating indoors but there are plenty of seats in the square. Great spot!!
I recently began working at a nearby business in Market Square and was happy to discover this charming coffee and tea shop. Up until Saturday 17th I had pleasant experiences there. There was a bit of a line so I waited patiently and looked at a few products they had for sale. However, on this day an employee stopped me from going to the register when my turn came and demanded that I show her what I had in my pockets and my coat. She said I had picked up three things and accused me of stealing them. She invaded my personal space and tried to stop me from going any further. I showed her what was in my pocket even though I knew I didn’t have to. She insisted that I take off my coat completely and said I would have to leave if I didn’t comply. She was extremely aggressive and unreasonable. I was in shock and still can’t believe that this happened. This experience was humiliating and deeply unsettling. Ironically there was a Juneteenth celebration taking place in the Square. Of course I won’t be going back, I’m writing this review to inform people of the type of environment you may encounter as a black person looking for a place to buy coffee in Market Square. This isn’t it.
VERY YUMMY!!!! The lady who helped us was super nice and answered all of our questions. The coffees were very well made and high quality. My coffee was made with the house blend and it was a nice balance of flavors. Friendly staff and some of the better coffee I have had in Pittsburgh so far
Always a favorite for fresh roasted, or just a cop of coffee or tea, Nicholas is the premier place in Pittsburgh for coffee.
