I love coming to Pittsburgh from 2 hours away, and I always have to have De Fer coffee when I’m here. It’s one of the best coffee shops I’ve been to out of many in the United States. For real. It reminded me of how coffee tastes in Europe.
Great coffee and breakfast sandwich is good! (although smaller than I thought for the price)
I think it is the only place that serves coffee after 4pm in Pittsburgh. Everyone else closes their coffee bar in the afternoon. Coffee was tasty and service friendly

Stopped for coffee after a MS walk in Pittsburgh! Did not disappoint! It was so good! Super friendly! Definitely a little busy on weekends, just keep that in mind! Smoothies were good.

Good atmosphere and friendly service. Bigger than it looks from the outside, there is plenty of seating. The coffee was not for me, it had more of a watery and nutty flavor.
Amazing atmosphere.. the team treated me amazingly well even though I had a special request.. I used to prefer other strip district coffee until we found this place

I loved this coffee shop! The service was also great. Their espresso is sour. They also have chocolate bars in various flavors. Great place overall
Never any seating available when I try to come here. Won’t be trying again Response to the owner: no I will not take my review down because the point of a review is to talk to MY experience there. There’s never any seats and no diversity either whenever I come there. The point of my review was to encourage you to get more seating options but at this point I could care less what you do with your establishment because I will never come in there again to support and will not recommend it to anyone that I know
They make a great Irish coffee, but super busy, with limited seating.

Great coffee roasted in house. Definitely try the single origin espresso, they treat it right!

DeFer took me by surprise on a Monday morning. Creativity in food isn't putting together some exotic ingredients. It's taking items we all know and putting out a statement that would disrupt the senses On a Monday morning with rye bread lightly toasted, with a bit of cashew butter. Covered with slices of banana and candied sunflower seeds. On top wonderful, yet not too much maple syrup. My emotional state went directly to heaven. This is how you manifest Creativity my friends. Wonderfully done
