Barista knows what he is doing
Came in here to avoid the rain/waste some time before a flight. I ordered an oat milk latte and the espresso tasted burnt, the cup was filled to the point it was spilling over and there wasn’t even an attempt at basic latte art/presentation. For almost $7 I expected better attention to detail.
Good seating options but no one stays because they do not offer WiFi. Very good almond croissant! The barista was in a bad mood and was slamming cabinets and throwing recycling pieces into the back room with frustration causing a scene. Espresso was burnt. Probably won’t head back anytime soon.
Drinks are good and pastries are good. For some odd reason the single use restrooms were not designed to have locks on them??? Someone can just swing open the door to the bathroom you are using if you don’t macgyver some way to keep the door shut while you are physically on the toilet.
No Wifi, and rude response when asked about it. Unwelcoming environment for a coffee shop.
Their iced vanilla latte is the best !!
Good spot for a morning beverage, I personally don't like the paintings but I have a strong will and spirit so I manage to deal with it.
Not too impressed. Upon entry, it looks the opposite of "cozy", or "cogito", the Spanish equivalent. I like cozy cafes. Then I got my $5 latte ($6 with the minimum tip shown when I paid), one size option, and I had to ask myself, "where's my latte?" Really? Don't give a customer a cup and leave it partially empty (see pic attached). It makes the customer feel you scammed em. It was a small cup, and not even filled up. Oh well, so maybe the flavor will make up for it. Nope. I'd describe the coffee as luke warm, with a taste on par with one of those 7-Eleven latte coffee makers. Not impressed at all.
In short: ok drink, no wifi, and barely any outlets. I ordered a vanilla latte and I realized that I wasn't asked if I wanted oat, almond, whole milk, etc for my drink. It was partially my fault for not asking. Also, no wifi is provided at all (very odd for a coffee shop) and there are few outlets.
“Flash brewed” iced coffee is the best and smoothest ice coffee I’ve ever had. Competes with cold brew. Very nice spot. I love the “no laptops” section as it provides a way for the coffeehouse to act as it was originally intended, not a workspace. There is an area where you can park it with a computer. Don’t come here to work, come here for a coffee chat or date. Edit March 9 2023: I still love this place so much. I am back here for a vanilla latte. Sure, everywhere has vanilla flavor but Cogito actually makes their own vanilla syrup, in house, from real vanilla beans. We have been so conditioned to the flavors of “vanillin” and other artificial flavors that tasting the real deal was quite an experience. It’s beyond delicious. I suggest you try it in your next drink.
Don't get an Americano here. The guy poured one shot into a 16oz cup. Coffee was bitter. Tasted like bitter water with a mild hint of coffee. The atmosphere was cool but probably close to the worst cup I've ever had.
My friend and I were visiting Philly for the day and stumbled upon Cognito when needing a place to spare a few hours. The atmosphere was bright and relaxing. The espresso shot wasn’t the tastiest, which took a point off of my review, but otherwise it was a lovely place to stay after a long day of walking in the cold.
If you’re coming here to drink coffee and work/study/etc just be aware this coffee shop has no Wi-Fi for their customers…. There are 3 “Cogito networks” and none of them are for customers. So if you’re hoping to enjoy the atmosphere while completing work, I would look elsewhere.
Not impressed. Their food options were not varied, the barista was distracted and forgot an espresso while spilling a drink, and the actual espresso shot was somewhat sour. Also, this place has probably the most expensive espresso prices at $3.50 per shot... there are many other better places to get a coffee and a snack in the city.
Barista was really cool. Hot chocolate was on point too.
Really good coffee, spacious place to hang out for a bit
Went to get 3 coffees. All they do is pour coffee in a cup and you have to add your sugar and cream. Server was pleasant but more interested in chatting with her coworker. The coffee was very strong. Some may like that but it was not to my taste. I will not be going back
Today was my first time trying this spot, and Ginssiyo made it a great experience! Thanks for the amazing mocha
Delicious latte and relaxing atmosphere 😊
Coffee was good, and it definitely seems like a good place to read or meet a friend, but I wasn't aware of the no-laptop policy coming in, and I didn't see a sign. When I asked about wifi the guy was pretty rude about it.
