Not great at all. Ordered avocado toast and the bread wasn’t toasted and the guacamole was brown. GROSS. My coffee was also not flavored, even though I thought I ordered a rose latte. The cashier in the front also stared me down when I came in like she had never seen a person of color before. EDIT to add response to owners: it seems several other reviews mention the bread isn’t toasted on the avocado TOAST. You would think that would be the bare minimum for that item, no?
Honestly not sure how this cafe has such a high rating here. Pretty standard small cafe atmosphere but nothing special. Coffee was just okay. The Ethiopian almost seemed watered down. The biggest disappointment was the shakshuka. It was just diced up, barely cooked chunks of tomato with a couple hard eggs and a few others veggies. At the very least sell it as something else, but don't fool people by calling it shakshuka.
I ordered and enjoyed the Grecian Salad sans olives, and every component was perfectly seasoned and fresh. The dressing, a creamy Greek concoction, was phenomenal. My family all enjoyed their food choices as well (pesto chicken sandwich, waldorf wrap, lancaster wrap). We also enjoyed and highly recommend the honeybee chai. Can't wait to return!
Friendly staff and yummy smoothies!
Super cute little coffee shop in the city, the servers are very kind and food is great!
The line wasn't very long and it did not take long for the food and drinks to come out. I ordered the baked oatmeal with fruit. The tea was also very nice. It was near market so great location to stop by before going out to shop. The only issue I had was that it was a bit hard to find seats.
I had the most wonderful time here recently for a meeting. It is too tight for privacy. The time I was there for the first time in a few years was two weeks ago. I thoroughly enjoyed the food (Lancaster Burrito) so much that this time I offered the same thing. Other stuff looks good from observation. Maybe next time I drop by I'll have the ability to get something new. For now I'm hooked on this as a nice mid day breakfast item.
very tasty and nice stuff
Has decaf on tap rather than only espresso like other places, which is nice. They sometimes burn their coffee and somehow always run out of cream, though.
First time visit early Monday morning, just after they opened. The atmosphere was peaceful and cozy. The oatmilk latte and avacado toast were amazing! Staff was kind, and the service was great! Financially, it's not something I would do daily, BUT it's worth EVERY penny! For sure something I'll work into my budget as a treat once in a while! I GREATLY appreciate the spiritual basis on which the owners started their business... God Bless!
It was so delicious! I wish I would've found this place sooner! The French toast was divine. My husband loves his breakfast sandwich. Very cute atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and helped us pick out what to eat. Definitely coming back soon. I really appreciate the vegetarian and vegan options.
Friendly staff with great food & coffee! Their parfaits are really good and unique with more of a soft baked oatmeal than granola. Would highly recommend!
Upon ordering I double checked 'my latte will be served in a real mug?' Yes, was the confident reply. My latte was brought out in cardboard and the barista refused to accommodate my request. Please, owners, just buy more mugs! Real mugs matter!
As always, a lovely place to eat. Would love to see more interesting gluten free pastry or muffin type offerings.
20+ min for a latte, ended up walking out without a drink and my money back. worst in the town for service thats for sure.
Amazing in every way! Loved it!
It was very busy today but didn't take terribly long for our food! I had the Lancaster breakfast burrito and it was delicious! My boys shared a French toast dish as it was big and they loved it too!
Very friendly staff delicious food and drinks.
I’ve been visiting Cafe One Eight since 2013. Love that they use local ingredients - like the rosemary bread from Thom’s. However, the food wasn’t as good during the most recent visit. Ordered the avocado toast, which comes with two slices of rosemary bread. One half was so stale; it was very difficult to cut through it… the other half was soft as always. I was surprised someone put the stale half on the plate. There was also no feta on the toast - there used to be. It’s definitely key ingredient. Not sure if it was forgotten or just not part of the meal anymore, but definitely tastes better with it. Cafe One Eight is super busy now so I think part of the food preparation issues just come with trying to keep up with the demand.
I've been here before, and no issues. The hours are the only problem I have. It's like Rachel's Creperie where I can only go on weekends. I work until 5pm, so I can't ever come here.
