Love this place. Staff is always friendly. Food and coffee are consistently great! The owner cares and it shows!
Husband and I went here for the first time last Sunday and it was so cozy. We each got a bagel Sammich and some coffee and sat outside reading a book and enjoying our breakfast. Was quiet, peaceful, and just an overall wonderful experience. Also had bacon jam for the first time and it was so good!
Good coffee, good food, good environment.
I love this place!! Their coffee and teas are amazing, the atmosphere and staff is so welcoming and friendly, and they have the best bagel sandwiches that I have had anywhere. It can get pretty busy during certain hours of the day, but would still definitely recommend.
Best coffee in the valley! HANDS DOWN! Great service!
I ate a sandwich and had a cup of coffee. Coffee was good, sandwich was a little greasy and thin but I'd go back.
Love the atmosphere. And the dirty Chai was fantastic too.
Found out about this cafe in a tourist magazine at my hotel. The server was chatty ( we love that), the coffee was excellent and the blueberry muffin was moist and delicious. Next time I am in Salem, definitely coming back.
The Gov Cup is Salem's little coffee roasting coffee shop. It is a gathering space; a slice of peace; a sensory treat; and a creative place. Their Nicaragua is my favorite roast and their bagels with lox is a perfect little brunch for one. (Spielman bagels! Real boiled bagels!) Go when you need a creative reset. Go when you need some "parallel play" with other people. Go to just pick up some beans, a bagel, and a sticker or two for your loved one. 😊
Had a wonderful visit with a friend here today. Their dirty Chai with oat milk was fantastic 💜
I really enjoy coming back to this place every once in a while. They have great tasting coffee, great atmosphere and its just a warm feeling everytime me and my wife come here for coffee.
Love the atmosphere and seeing all the regulars, not to mention the chai is out of this world delicious. The owner and staff are down to earth and oh so friendly. My absolute favorite coffee shop!
Getting misgendered by the staff while they play "Conservative Christian, Right Wing, Republican, Straight, White, American Males by Todd Snider" on their speakers says quite a lot about who you want to feel welcomed in your store /: Used to feel like a way more inclusive place prior to reopening. What happened?
Really wanted to try this place but they don't answer their phone, I guess # is no good? Ended up going to Issac's downtown because they do answer their phone.
Baristas were a little bit terse. Felt a little bit like I didn't belong there. The place was really nice with warm welcoming vibes and tasty drinks
One of my favorite coffee shops outside of Seattle. It's always clean with a great atmosphere. Offering a wide range of goodies, if you want finely roasted coffee this is the right place. They have fantastic baristas keeping stock with everything from fresh bakery sweets, to a fine assortment of teas. There's a bar downstairs and a nice little seating arrangement upstairs.
Food and coffee were OUTSTANDING. Table turnover needs some work but don't let that stop you from coming here. Have patience as the team works through their growing pains.
Nice atmosphere, the building itself is cute. However the food on the other hand... Everything me and my friends ordered was stale and had to be reheated. Prices were too high for such low quality. Matcha coffee was so gross it had to be thrown out. 100% overrated unless you like to eat everything stale
Love this place. A visit every time we land in Salem. Ambiance is great.
Cozy inside with nice music playing over the speakers. I didn't know I came right before closing, and the service was still very friendly. On a side note, between multiple places online and inside the store, I saw 3 different closing times posted. So maybe call ahead if you're wanting to relax while you enjoy your coffee and food. But it's worth it!
