Really cool cafe/tap-room! Delicious coffee! Enjoyable back patio space with lawn for the kids and pups! Just the vibe that Milwaukie has needed!
I went in there for the first time in years, and the experience was so heart warming and inviting! They've expanded since then, and the atmosphere is just awesome! I ordered an Iced Mocha to go, and OMG, it was the best mocha I've ever consumed in my whole life! Hands down will go there again, and I definitely recommend heading over there yourself to enjoy all they have to offer!
Coffee was excellent!
This coffee shop is an disappointment in this neighborhood with the negative attitude of these owners. I order my coffee and waited 10 minutes for my order with my small dog less than 15 pounds. We were standing by the door, we were minding our own business. Almost 10 minutes later the owner said I had to wait outside in the freezing cold and rain for my order . On Main Street they put up an sign stating this is a dog friendly place. I was so upset by the false marketing I wanted a refund but the owner refused & it was too late . I wouldn’t come here ever again.
I had a business call to make and was in the area after an appointment and needed to find somewhere to charge my device and take the call - Awakening did not disappoint! PERFECT coffee, expertly prepared - and after the call I had time to order a turkey sandwich for lunch, which was also very good! If this was near my home or office, I’d be a regular no doubt! Thank you!

Me and my husband are frequent visitors to Awakening Coffee. We've gotten to know Ann and Joe as friends and love the coffee, food and service we receive every time we visit them. Ann and Joe are passionate about their business and their commitment to local businesses and the Oak Grove community. Ann and Joe are big supporters (time and treasure) to local events and causes. Besides they are fun people to be around! The coffee and menu items are really great. They serve top-notch coffee (Illy) and treats. This is our go-to place on weekend mornings. Ann and Joe know what we want when we walk in the door! You can expect to be well served here and to enjoy some time inside or outside in their covered patio while checking in with friends or making new ones from the community. Awakening Coffee has become a meeting place for local residents and an anchor for the community. We always enjoy seeing old friends and new at Awakening Coffee. Thanks again Ann and Joe and the Awakening Team for being such a great contributor to the Oak Grove community!

Awakening is an oasis in the fair town of Oak Grove. The coffee is excellent and the service is divine. Thank you Awakening team for making every Thursday a wonderful day for me So great to start out with your smiling faces and Fantabulous service! Keep it up
This place is lovely. They have wonderful outdoor seating and an assortment of gluten free baked goods. Don't worry my gluten loving friends they have plenty for you too. I will visit again!
Walking into Awakening Coffee is like walking into a friend's house. Ann and Joe have made their shop welcoming, comfortable, and a gathering space for the community. They know their customers by name and continue to additions to bring the neighborhood together. Check out their new inside area, the great outside space, and listen to their ideas for expansion - it is really exciting. Oh, and the coffee and food is great too!
I love this place so much. Let’s start with coffee: so glad they actually use a high quality bean and it makes a huge difference. The food and pastries are phenomenal and you would have no idea unless you asked that all the pastries are vegan. The regular customers are super friendly to each other and all are welcome. The place has been renovated so much and looks amazing. Super comfortable, outdoor seating or all types, and I love the add on of special events like food trucks in the evenings. Now for the people who work here: Ann and Joe have taken a revolving door coffee shop that’s had at least a half dozen owners in the time I’ve been in the area to an inviting wonderful neighborhood haven. My daughter and I are there at least twice a week for coffee and a pastry, and they are so wonderful to my two year old Lily. Lily loves being there and seeing Ann, Joe, and Shay and they’ve welcomed her and helped my shy girl come out of her shell. I’ve never met people who whole heartedly want to better the community and helping out those around them.
I love coming here to this place with my family and it’s so peaceful and such a cute little place AND I LOVE THE COFFEE
