I moved here from Portland and this is the most like a real Portland coffeeshop I've found in town. The coffee is good, the food is delicious, and it's got a nice vibe.
Great spot to spend some time, food is great and drinks are better. Love getting a matcha latte here.
It’s good, and healthy, and expensive, and everyone is nice but everything I order besides something from the cold case takes 20+ minutes no matter how busy it is or how many people working. It’s baffling.
The egg drop soup was DELIGHTFUL. I love the highlight of pepper in the soup. No joke artichoke was wonderful too. I swapped the turkey for Portobello mushroom and held the bacon. 👌 Service was kind and the restaurant is clean.
I used to love Leap and was a loyal customer for many years. Some time back, it seems like things changed. They maybe started to cut corners, and the coffee was just not good anymore, maybe new management? Anyway, I took my niece out today to support their new Sunday hours. Everything about our orders was off. I bought a cupcake that didn't show a price but looked beautiful. It ended up being $4.75, thought that was steep, but okay, maybe it's great. Nope. I'm guessing it was several days old. The icing was rock hard. My coffee tasted like watered down creamer, hardly had any coffee taste. Niece's mocha, same, tasted like warm hot chocolate. I was not going to leave a review, but we got to our next destination, and my niece didn't get her proper change back. She was shorted about $3 and the cookie she bought was also rock hard. Just not a great place to get coffee anymore, which is too bad because their mission is great. I thought the last time I took an out of town guest there for bland coffee was going to be my last time in, but I gave them another shot to just be disappointed again. Leap is no longer Leap, and I'm pretty sure it isn't on the baristas... it seems to be management making different policies. If you go, skip the coffee/sweet treats and try a sandwich instead. To the owner response: it is very unlikely I kept the receipt, but thank you. Will add one star for the response. I know yall don't need it, most of us are loyal customers to you. Still love your mission, but the coffee is lacking last few times I've been in. I'm sure you'll take the feedback to make sure treats are fresh/rotated and all employees are trained to count back change.
Some times this place is great other times you get a bland sandwich scraps of wilted greens on stale bread and mayo so thin why bother all while forgetting to place what you asked for on it . That was today who knows how good or bad it can get next time. Today its the trash for this thing.
Ate a sandwich called “no joke artichoke” SO GOOD. Because it’s impossible to find gluten free food in K-Falls. Be back next week!
Totally adorable coffee shop along the Amtrak route. Great vibes and people. Will be returning.
Has everything one could ask for in a coffee shop: quality food and coffee, comfy furniture, high ceilings, employees that aren’t bitter, and good wifi. Only one thing would improve this place: a door that shuts properly on cold days.
Always friendly service and good, healthy food. They offer as many organic options as they can and always have vegetarian and vegan options as well. They're good at creating some awesome weekly smoothie options too! Their vegan soups have always amazed me with wonderful flavors!
Great food!! Try the workday special!!
Love the variety at Leap. Never been disappointed with a meal there.
Loved the options, the food is delicious, and they have some rad gluten-free options. Everyone was very nice, and the service was a little slow, but they were extremely busy.
Great indy coffee shop. Bison breakfast burrito was great
Good coffee and delicious sandwiches!
I love and adore this place so much. They're so creative and always inventing new things to try. Excellent service and food as well as beautiful environment. I have had everything from breakfast burritos, frittata, coffee drinks, lemonade, salads, sandwiches, etc. My favorite things are the gyro bowl, salmon salad, soups and gluten free paninis. I don't think you can go wrong with anything. Such a good community oriented staple. Live music, local products, quiet nooks and more.
Always a friendly and warm atmosphere with consistent hand made quality food and drink.
Best place in town for coffe, sandwiches and many other great foods. A oozy place with a familiar ambience. Love it!!!!
Keegan has asked for a more honest review, so here we go. I am a local musician who had been playing this venue for many years. I once frequented this establishment, sometimes multiple times a week, due to this. When I played, I always brought customers with me. Some of them said they came exclusively to see me. I felt welcomed and appreciated. The manager would thank and tip me. The food and drinks were exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I’m sorry to say, Keegan, that those things changed when you took over. I have no personal vendetta against you. The last time I was in was less than a month ago and I most certainly poured out my drink it was so terrible. I don’t feel appreciated there as a musician anymore. I have never received as much as a thank you or even a reciprocated smile from you. I didn’t feel comfortable giving an honest review while I was still playing there. My decision not to play there anymore was based on a combination of mediocre food, terrible mochas time and time again, decline in mood and atmosphere, and dirty looks from you in lieu of gratitude. My original review: I used to love this place. The vibe has changed so much over the past couple of years and the food has lost its magic. Little details like the fruit and chocolate that used to come on your plate and were such a nice touch are evidence of the cut corners that permeate the mood and menu. Half orders aren’t available anymore. My final visit I poured my mocha out it was so terrible. The place was once pristine any time of day you walked in, but it is not uncommon now to walk into a dirty bathroom or see bus bins filled and tables that show evidence of the diners who sat there before. Live music used to showcase local talent every day of the week. Once upon a time this was my first choice for a healthy meal out, but not anymore.
Food used to be really good, but things have changed a lot in the last couple of years. Attention to detail is lacking and when I ordered a raspberry Italian soda, I received strawberry instead (which is possibly my least favorite flavor) and I had asked for whipped cream and didn’t get any. Half their menu isn’t even available anymore and half of the sandwiches I’ve gotten have had been more bread than anything else. On top of that the environment is dark and uninviting when it used to be bright and comfortable. I miss the old Leap of Taste, it used to be really good. Sadly, I don’t think I’m willing to give it another chance after every time I have gone in recently has missed the mark.
