I wish they would just copy the menu from the previous owners. The menu is not so great. I couldn't decide, so I ordered a cheeseburger. Somehow, it ranked as one of the worst burgers I've ever had -- a cold patty stuck to the bread with a squirt of ketchup... :/
Every time we are in the area, we stop by this bakery. We came by yesterday for a blueberry muffin and 2 maple cinnamon rolls. We haven’t been here in about 6 months but every time we come the food is great, so great we bring home extra treats and always recommend this place to others. This time though, the cinnamon rolls were hard. Normally they are big and fluffy. The blueberry muffin barely had any blueberries and was dry and crumbly. We spent $18 there and were really disappointed. I don’t know if there was a new baker working, but I’m not sure we will be coming back. Had one item been subpar, it could have been a fluke but both our items were not great.
I ordered an almond joy mocha. I appreciate the gentlemen who was helping me asking what was in it. My daughter had the gelato and loved it. My husband had an almond mocha and my friend got tea. There was only a small space to sit inside as it was also a retail area. But we took the drinks back to our Airbnb and everyone enjoyed what they ordered.
We were looking forward to Easter brunch, but were sorely disappointed. Every other table was served before us, including those seated well after we arrived. The manager/owner came to ask us how our meal was, and we told him we hadn't been served yet. Apparently our order was overlooked. We were offered one free glass of wine to make amends, which did not go far enough. I will not be back.
The best pastries in Gearhart!
Another great dinner at Pacific Way Cafe tonight. Thanks everyone 💚☘️ We enjoyed the prime rib again, the crabby leek chowder is delish, breads are so good, oh we shared crab cakes too. The ambience and personal service the best.
We got the croissants and they were amazing! We will definitely be back!
Stopped in for a bowl of chowder and today's soup was crabby leek chowder. Delicious! Thick, full of ingredients, herbaceous, plenty of Dungeness crab. My new favorite chowder! This is the kind of chowder you'd expect to find at a costal establishment. Their baked goods also looked wonderful. Not a lot of seating, but we were able to get a table. Sunday on a holiday weekend.
Tasty cinnamon rolls, croissant and apple turnovers with Cafe Umbria coffee.
We had an absolutely delicious meal in a cozy environment by the fireplace. The crabby leak soup is to die for!!
This is for the bakery section for am service. Things are not the same here. New ownership should have insisted on getting, and using, the pastry recipe from the prior owner. The new offerings are sparse and really not worth the drive to this place. Whey did they mess up a great thing and try re-designing the wheel. It use to be there was a line out the door. Today, we were the only ones around. Too bad.
Fantastic Clam Chowder! Nice quaint corner setting Southside in Gearhart. A must stop if you are in the area . First time there , Clam Chowder was the only item we ordered.
*new ownership. Review was under old ownership. 😪 Hands down best pastry I've ever had.
Really enjoyed dinner here tonight. Tried for breakfast this morning, but turns out it is only a bakery with ☕️. Wanted at least an egg sandwich or piece of quiche as well as a pastry. But we did come back. I had the airline chicken. Hubby had the leeky crab soup and 🦀 🍤 cakes. And we finished with a fruit tart. Great atmosphere. One of the owners came by and welcomed us. ☺️
Took a tandem bike over from Seaside, and it was definitely worth it. Their pre-meal bread and butter is fantastic, they have local beer on tap, and a fun little dining area. Well worth the trip, best crab cakes around! I wish we would have planned to eat dinner there.
Outstanding food and service. The crabby leek soup and crab rangoon are amazing.
Went for dinner. Food was delicious, staff was kind and attentive. Charming atmosphere. Happy there’s a great restaurant in Gearhart :)
My boyfriend and I had muffins and a latte at the Pacific Way Bakery this morning. A cute little place that has a little table outside - we sat there and watched the people and their dogs walk by while we enjoyed our tasty muffins. The latte was delicious and left me well caffeinated for the day.
This is a must go to spot. The bakery in the morning and the restaurant for dinner will not disappoint.
I am sorry to say that my dining experience was not what I remember prior to the pandemic, though I am certainly glad that this treasure has reopened under new ownership and wish for their success. The crab was served on a paper tray, rather lonely and inelegant, and service was very slow and awkward, though courteous. Pan seared salmon was tasty but I would have preferred more vegetables. Pear and walnut salad was the star of the meal. Caesar was rather pedestrian; would have preferred more dark leafy green lettuce for nutrients. Suggest serving more vegetables with dish, as well having as a side-order option. And to consider using cloth napkins and fewer disposables. We appreciated the owner coming to table to greet us and offer free desert to offset our less-than-ideal visit. I will try again next time I am in Gearhart and hope for an improved experience, which will be reflected in my review.
