With the change to outdoor only seating and the food being substantially less good I have to downgrade my review to three stars.
Been here for ten minutes three people in front of me and still haven’t been able to order. *edit for owner’s response* first off what a weird response to a review. But I’ll play the game. nope I’m not still there. After about 20 minutes I got food and and coffee. It was meh quality but passible enough if the service was faster I probably would have come back. It wasn’t and based off of other recent reviews slow service is clearly still an issue
I had the B&G years ago and I remember it being so good! I went a week ago and it was terrible 😞 The biscuits were so hard and the gravy was not good. I’m giving a 3 star because the service and coffee was great just will never order the biscuits and gravy again! Also not a fan of having to stand outside in the rain.
Can not understand all the reviews talking about the friendly service. I'm a local, have come in and out of this place for the last ten years, and the service has been consistently *abysmal*. Like, there's an understanding there that it's ok to treat customers like s***. I guess I'm not cool enough or whatever. I'll get my coffee elsewhere.
My absolute favorite coffee in eugene or probably anywhere. I love the vegan pastries as well. My only complaint is I miss the old hours. I know covid caused a lot of small businesses to have to adapt and scale down but as an insomniac who doesn't wake up early I wish they would have extended hours at least on the weekends. I'm not asking for their old hours back because I know staying open til 11pm is asking a lot but maybe if they could be open til 3 or 4? Something reasonable like that would be great. I have come across some slightly off customer service in the past but it never effected the quality of my coffee or wait time so it didn't usually bother me I just took it as part of the unique off-beat wandering goat experience. Though the personalities of each barista can be a mixed bag most of the Baristas were quite amiable and friendly or at least swift and professional (which at the end of the day is all I can really ask). Tldr: I love wandering goat coffee.
Walk up window only - there’s no dine in so the pictures are misleading
Waited 15 min(with only 2 orders ahead of me), in the bitter cold, for probably the worst Americano I've ever had...
Why? In the year 2023 are they serving out a window masked up??? What realty are they living in seriously. The wife and I have lived in the whit for over 15 years and this was our spot almost everyday. Its literally a shell of itself, the customer service is nonexistent, you have to sit in the rain or eat in your car...what a joke now. They really drank the koolaid, it was one of the best community spots in Eugene. They had art, music, poetry, comedy, amazing food and a wonderful staff. Now its just a window and a ugly red board. Again I ask why? It breaks my heart to leave a one star but I have to I have no other choice. Eugene native out!
The friendly interactions with staff are a pleasure. The coffee is delicious and satisfying.
I enjoyed and bought their coffee from Community Cup coffee. This was the coffee roastery I am seeking! I tasted their espresso blen using my moka pot at my home, and it has really complex aroma and was very juicy. I really like their coffee, and in my opinion, the best roastery in the town. Thanks for nice coffee!
Coolest and friendliest staff I know. Tried to stop drinking coffee but I missed them too much and needed an excuse to come back. Now I’m an addict but it’s all worth it!! Really great coffee and you can’t forget their vegan biscuits and gravy. I also enjoy their branding and merch. Way to go, goats. Y’all are slaying the scene. <3
Been going here every day for a week because it is close to where I am staying. The service is lame impersonal inconsistent and almost careless. I have Been getting the same thing every day, oat milk latte and an oat milk mocha. The first day was good, each cup was perfect. Though each day each drink has been extremely different and worse and worse quality. Today I could not even stomach the mocha because it was burnt so badly. $6 drink I poured out. I kept hoping for that good cup again and honestly waisted almost $50. I am never going back to the wondering goat.
My partner and I have traveled across the country sampling biscuits and gravy along the way. One of our top ranked is the Wandering Goat, his old local cafe that he would always go to. Love that it is also vegan, as we are plant based and love to avoid dairy if possible. Would eat it on a regular basis if we were living more near now!
Good coffee! The biscuits and gravy were far different than what we expected but still okay. Definitely not traditional and more of a healthier version
House roasted beans are the best in Eugene. Although I'm sad they've closed the indoor seating their coffee is as good as ever. I love their borgias and highly recommend a spicy mocha, but for the purists they offer single origin pourovers, cold brews, and good old fashioned drip.
The Chai tea was very good. We wanted to sit inside to wait for an appointment, but they only had outdoor seating.
I have a family member who worked at the goat for years. They closed the whole place down and they serve masked out of a window. They are nolonger puting on shows or even trying to bring back the spirit of the place that we so loved. Although I must say the service was friendly and kind and the coffee was delicious I don't think we will be back 🥀
Employees are very cool, biscuit and gravy is always delicious even though I don't love big mushroom slices. They should just have all vegan friendly options, ditch the animal cruelty ingredients. Also, they sell out of biscuits and gravy often. Why not make more and make more money? Frustrating to have to go somewhere else.
The Drinks were very good, and would return for the chai 👍.the food on the other hand lacked flavor 🤦 the scone with 3 blueberries was a cracker, and the biscuits and gravy is liquid cardboard.
Eugene Gem! Whoever roasts these beans is a magician! Especially the "Heart of Darkness" dark roast. I know, I know, the medium and light roasts are "better", but have too much caffeine for me. The location is poor, and the workers there are just OK. Pastries are mediocre at best, but if you love speciality beans. You'll enjoy this Eugene, Gem!!
