I have been here twice; once just for pie while passing through and a second time for breakfast and pie to go when we stayed in Dayville. Both visits were awesome. The same waitress both times and she is down to earth and exceptional at her job. The decorations are fitting. The food was great. Chicken fried steak was massive, biscuits and gravy was savory and the biscuits were big, fluffy and hand made. The pancakes were typical flap jacks a little on the chewy side, which I prefer. They are known for their pies and when you buy a full one to-go you get to keep the pie tin or glass dish. All-in-all a fantastic experience both times and I would highly recommend stopping even if just for a cup of coffee and a slice of pie!

Incredible portions for decent prices. Biggest chicken fried steak I've ever seen. 10/10 breakfast after waking up in the hills

Amazing food, decent portions and wonderful, friendly people. And I haven't even started in on the pies! If you ate too much and haven't room, do yourself a favor and take a slice to go (we took 4, and they were all good!). And if you want a mind-blowing experience, GET THE GERMAN CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE! Your life will never be the same.

Stopped in late last Sunday near closing time. Still served us pie and coffee. We took home a marion berry pie. I have to say it was the best we've had in years. We'll be back for more.

Great road-trip gem we found coming home from elk camp. The food was definitely made from scratch and the staff was super friendly. We took a whole pie home, highly recommend!

My son was in Dayville for a wedding over the weekend and stopped in for breakfast and brought us home a homemade Marionberry pie from the cafe. Not only did our son tell us how good the food was but the Marionberry Pie was one of the best I have ever had. If ever I find myself driving through Dayville there is no question I will get another pie from here and try out the other food options as well.

I love great hamburgers and this place is among my very favorite - and the drive to tiny Dayville from the west is stunningly beautiful, replete with wild turkeys.

Great cafe in small town, if you are near the painted hills in Oregon stop by for amazing food. The hamburgers are big and made from local beef. We tried both the Fossil and the Baja, so juicy and great with a milkshake or float. Service was friendly and quick.

Service and food were great. Very glad we stopped on our way back from Joseph. I was a little concerned about the 'Filly' sandwich, 'cuz, ya know, it's usually 'Philly'. LOL. It was a good meal, though. I had planned to have a Monte Cristo but we were too late in the day so they were out of bread for it 😔 Will definitely make another trip out to give it a try. Had a chocolate shake as dessert and it was really tasty and a lot of it. I took it to go and we were nearly in Prineville by the time I finished.

Great breakfast and large portions (the biscuits were the size of a small plate). This is a wonderful way to fuel up for exploring John Day NM and the surrounding painted hills.

Had a great lunch. And then bought a whole caramel apple jalapeño pie :) it came in its own glass pie pan! It was a hit with the kids in the family! So many creative recipes. Seems like a passionate cook!
