Tried this bakery for the first time. Staff were nice and the atmosphere in the store was warm and welcoming. Got an apple pie and a strawberry cheesecake. They were a little over $50 together. I'm a huge fan of apple pie and have tried many over the years. I was not a fan of the crust or filling of the pie I got here. Crust was extremely thin/soft resulting in it not contributing much texture. The apple filling had a strong vinegar flavor which was not good. The strawberry cheesecake had an OK texture but the strawberry flavoring on the top used to make the swirl tasted fake like perfume. There was no sign of real strawberries or strawberry flavor. I also did not like the use of cake frosting on the outside border, wrong flavor to mix with a cheesecake in my opinion. I've had much better cheesecake from grocery stores. For the cost, not really worth it. Probably won't be returning.

They have really impressive pastries, as well as sandwiches. There is sometimes a wait to be served, but it’s always been worth it. The prices are comparable to other locally-owned bakeries that provide top-notch treats. The chocolate-cherry torte is one of my favorites, and their chocolate ganache is one of the best! We often get birthday cakes here, and we appreciate that they contribute to the library’s summer reading program with coupons!

Well what a yummy place! Yes everything looks great and tasted good and I need to be carful when I come in because I want everything! Super clean and very welcoming for sure. The lady who helped me was super nice and friendly and she gave me lots of options. I will definitely be back for more!

Until this last time Merritt's was great. Lots of choices. When I went to this location, I felt like a dark cloud was over my head. I arrived before noon, everything I wanted, they were out of; croissants, chicken salad & roast beef. So I decided I wasn't suppose to eat lunch there & just bought a couple cookies for my grandsons.
I ordered 2 brownies with cream cheese icing the brownies were hard and the cream cheese fell off the top. They were not fresh they were frozen and nasty. I also ordered 2 fried cinnamon rolls they were straight out of a package not freshly made the icing on top was thick and white, nasty. I also had donuts not freshly made they were frozen. I as deeply disappointed and won’t use them again I like fresh not frozen or from a box. 10/15/2022
I’d give this location and it’s management zero stars if I could! Let’s start with how this $200 cake order had to be taken a total of five times. On the day of pick up the cake had a five instead of a three, waited over an for that to be fixed, cardboard still showing, the designs were not symmetrical. Upon cutting the cake both layers were chocolate, another thing we didn’t ask for. When calling when them and trying to talk about the situation the manager straight lied to us saying that that’s not what we order when he realized he was wrong and that we knew we were talking about he was empathic, offered to remake the cake the birthday is over. Just simply do not waste your time with these rude people.
You would think they were doing me a favor by being open. Not very friendly. This Merrits was higher priced than the one on 15th st.
Called to place order at 7am and phone line not even working when using prompts so had to go in and order. It took over 10 minutes just to make a sausage egg biscuit. In the past I've never had to wait for more than 4 to 5 mins. I paid but left with nothing bc I had to wait so long and now im late to work. This location is going downhill fast.
You all went Above and Beyond with my Grand Daughter’s Birthday cake! The colors we impeccable. Tastes just as good as it looks♥️
Best donuts in town. Period. All their cakes and pastries are wonderful. I'm glad to see they survived. I miss Ann's bakery.
My previous experiences with Merritt’s have been excellent, but the cake we got this time was a big disappointment. They weren’t able to provide a custom cake, which I understand, but we requested a cake with a simple happy birthday message on it instead. It was on a round cake, and the first disappointment was that the writing was not great. But even worse was that they put it in a box and taped the lid closed - when we got it home and opened the box, the writing in the center of the cake was smashed to be unreadable. The taste of this cake was also not up to the usual - it was very dry. I have always been proud of the cakes that I have gotten from here, but definitely not this time. I will be thinking twice about trying again. Such a shame!
