I can't say enough good things about this coffee shop. It's strange that a place with such good caffeine could make me so calm. It's upstairs in a trendy industrial building, with a train that goes by the window, but from the moment I walked into the coffee shop portion, I felt welcomed and like I belong there. The barista that day, who I think also owns the shop, made great recommendations on the pastries and we had interesting conversations about the local coffee, the items for sale in her shop, and her life. Coffee was nuanced and balanced. And this seems unimportant, but it adds so much to my enjoyment, they had local hand made cups that were just the right size and weight. We came in from out of town, so I'm sad I don't get to go back any time I want.

So Incredible! Best shop in OKC! The tea and Coffee is made with care and excellence! Every question was met with a well thought out answer. Allyson was so sweet and gave the best service! Try their seasonal drinks, definitely worth the try!

We signed up for their coffee club and of the six bags we received we have only received three different kinds of coffee, we received the same roast three times! Is it that hard to create a sampling system where the customer actually gets different samples?! When we tried to cancel we were forced into another delivery, even after calling and emailing our displeasure. Finally, of the three kinds we have received, none of them are drinkable! Stick to Black Rifle if you want drinkable coffee and good service

Prelude has always reminded me of the first local coffee shops that back when there was only one Starbucks in OKC. Those pioneers have given us so many wonderful experiences. Prelude is a warm and inviting space. A great place to get coffee, but also a great place to get some work done. They have retail options from local art, coffee beans, and even some vintage clothing. I got the Kyoto cold brew which is a slow drip process. It has a great flavor. Enjoy!

February 2023 Update: Again and again I keep coming back here. It’s consistency in drink quality and vibe get better and better. Their specials are always a little off the wall and make me question who I am as a person. Love this place ♥️ —— August 2021 Update: They’ve been upping their game here over the past year and the shop is looking cooooool. A bookstore is coming in and that they’re going to finally get some super comfy chairs… 👀👀👀 —— February 2020 Update: This is hands down the best coffee shop in OKC. Their spiced Kyoto cold brew is my new favorite thing! 100% would recommend. —— December 2019 UPDATE: Okay their ice is the best thing. It look like little top hats and I love it!!! —— Prelude Coffee Roasters is incredible. Formerly Mariposa Coffee Roasters they have the experience needed to roast quality beanzzz. My favorite of theirs is their horchata latte which is super creamy and cinnamon-y. lol Also their lattes start at $3.75 and their drip coffee is always $2!! Their espresso is also top notch. It comes with a homemade caramel which pairs so perfectly with the espresso. Single origins and blends are great and the service is kllr!

This place is more about books and anything else than coffee. “Baristas” don’t even know how to differentiate a flat white from a cappuccino. Even though it was cleared up by management, they made a disparaging comment about a drink I ordered to someone else right after I ordered it. I was told by management this was not in reference to me, but whatever. Just about any place can make coffee on these peoples level. Their cutesy modern hipster aesthetic is about the only thing they have going for them

This is my husband’s and my favorite place to bring our dog and relax with a book and a coffee. The drinks are delicious and the staff are wonderful. We’ve been here so much that my dog knows where we are going and has her favorite people that she MUST say hi to :) The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. Highly recommend Prelude!

Adorable and quiet! Friendly staff, very clean shop. I love that they have books for sale! *Menu is a bit limited, but the coffee is good quality. *Beverage cups are a bit like Japanese tea cups, which means the larger size used for serving coffee feels a bit like a soup tureen at first because there is no handle. This means those of us lacking bear paws have to put our book down to sip coffee. *The vibe is quiet and relaxed, and there is extra seating downstairs in the buikding common area; you coukd easily get cofdee and go to one of the larger downstairs tables to chat with a larger group. *ADA accessible via elevator; parking and main door are accessible. (Note: I did not check restroom accessibility.)
