The food tasted like mom's home cooking. The service was great; the young ladies working there were very sweet and polite. The Atmosphere was pretty loud with a crowd but was tolerable. Overall it was a great experience and will go back again.
Food is garbage don’t get Vick burger it’s literally everything on menu between to buns. Hamburger raw mesh mash of everything
My last two visits to Sunrise have been lackluster, but decided to give it one more try a couple of nights ago. Upon entering my son & I were quickly greeted and shown to a table outside which we were happy about because it was a beautiful evening. We sat and were provided with menus, silverware and water. We sat for about ten minutes with no offer of service. The kind host did return with a carafe of water. We sat for 15 or so more minutes without any contact with or offer of service. At that point we got up and left and went down to my favorite YS spot- Calypso, where we enjoyed friendly and efficient service and amazing cocktails and food! I don't understand how two restaurants owned by the same family can be managed so differently, and have again been disappointed by my experience at Sunrise.
Came in this morning, was promised a table as soon as we walked in because they had a full house. Waited for 15 minutes to our table be given away while we watched it being cleaned because that person “called ahead” even though we were the first people in there on the wait. As someone who works in the industry, I will not be coming back after that experience.
Mother's Day brunch. Food was great and service was wonderful. Crowded and noisy but likely expected during a brunch on such a day.
Very nice atmosphere went for my birthday definitely recommend
This is my favorite restaurant in Yellow Springs. That is why I wanted to go here for Valentine's Day. They had a special five course menu for the day that we decided to try. Everything was delicious as expected. Each course came with a wine pairing. And dessert came with Irish coffee or Prosecco. The main course was grilled pork belly with peach glaze and cheesy polenta. Amazing! My only complaint was that there was only one dessert to share between the two of us and I could have easily eaten my own piece of that amazing chocolate torte. A couple of my pictures below are from previous visits and unfortunately got mixed in with the pictures from this visit. Can't wait to go back.
Hubby had biscuits and gravy. I had 2 eggs, 2 veggie patties and toast. Oh my! Delish!
Enjoyed an evening meal here - we’re vegetarians so this place was recommended to us. The asparagus and Parmesan soup was good, but the entree - pad Thai - didn’t have enough vegetables by far, and the tofu was a little soft (for my taste). The staff were super friendly and hardworking, although i feel like the whole place could do with a little spring cleaning and brightening up. Otherwise, a very nice option for eating out in Yellow Springs, and it certainly suits the town’s hippy vibe.
I really wanted to like this place. The vibe is good, decorations and atmosphere is on point, but that's about where things end on a positive note. Waitress forgot about us while outside. Service took VERY long for every step. The pancakes were legit uncooked batter throughout the whole middle. The potatoes were also undercooked, limp and flavorless. The biscuits and gravy were COMICALLY small portions. Honestly, there looks like much better options in the area and I regret eating here.
Enjoyed a late meal there this week while in town on business. The drinks were strong the food was good and the service solid. I tried a couple of things the biscuits and gravy ( they left the sausage out of the gravy ) and the huevo rancheros which had no sauce. My wife had the mushroom Swiss burger and chips. Everything was good but not off the charts. The key lime pie was exceptional. Not sure If we will be back but if opportunity lends itself I may give them another shot.
Their award-winning pancakes definitely deserved the reward. The pancakes are possibly the best I’ve ever had.
I would definitely recommend if you are wanting to eat healthy. They have a variety of food that is good for you! We paid around 60$ for 3 of us to eat including tip. Perfect place to eat before a hike!
Big changes. Won't ever go back. We used to travel 2 counties to have dinner here, sometimes taking 3 to-go meals to have for later. But now, we booked a reservation for 5pm and when we were finally seated, the server handed us menus and told us we had to be done by 6pm because she had another reservation for our table in less than an hour. The great German food they used to serve is gone off the menu, replaced by cheap and flavorless salads and other garbage. It was a great restaurant a month ago, but it's now something we'll always avoid. We left without eating, and when we walked by at 6:05pm, the table was still empty. So both reservations resulted in no revenue for this place. At least both reservations got a good meal somewhere else.
Wonderful slice of life café. Wagyu beef burgers, today with mushrooms and Swiss. Great staff at every point. It's worth it. Just go.
Very delicious food! Nice service and fun local farm products served here! Featuring Dale Filburn Farm eggs and The Maker's Meadow grass-fed meats sometimes.
The door would stay open and have to be closed by an employee, ultimately making it really cold. But the food was amazing!
Phenomenal, thin, crispy edged pancakes with clarified butter. Average Huevos Rancheros.
Our first visit, we highly recommend Sunrise Cafe. Most everything is locally grown, the menu is full of exciting entrees, the servings are huge and everything was absolutely delicious. Kudos y'all!
The food was scrumptious, service was great, and the atmosphere was spectacular!! Very cute restaurant with beautiful painting on the walls!! Would definitely recommend!! 🩷🥞🥪
