Great little place, best Earl Gray tea EVER! (think it is a London Fog blend). Food and atmosphere is perfection.
Excellent quality coffee drinks and great staff. Not every coffee shop knows how to make a traditional macchiato. That is my test for any new shop I visit, and Kofenya not only knows how to make one, they make an exceptional one.
Decent breakfast wraps & espresso martini
Some of the best coffee I've ever had
Only two sugar free syrups available. Since that is all Starbucks offers as well, you are currently unable to get a fun cup of coffee in Oxford if you are doing keto. I have a REALLY hard time believing there are no sorority girls in Oxford following a keto diet. But apparently Starbucks sets the standard and everyone else falls in line. Rather disappointing.
Great coffee shop came here every day when in Oxford. Great drinks and good atmosphere wish I could bottle this place and take it with me.
Was a wonderful respite for a gloomy Thursday afternoon. I just had coffee and a wonderful chocolate muffin.
Always the best. Coffee and food is super quick, and so good. The staff is usually friendly. All of their toasts are great but I personally love the breakfast burrito. A popular study spot so it's crowded around finals but still worth it.
Nice coffee shop, not a chain
Fun play to enjoy a hot beverage (some spiked) and delicious pastries and light breakfast food in an informal atmosphere.
This is a great, small/college town coffee shop! The trick to parking is not to park in front on High St. Park further away on side streets for a fraction of the cost.
Great local coffee shop! Wonderful decor and very welcoming staff.
It is a nice place to have a cup of something and a snack. It felt a bit bare - not much to choose from - do I'm not sure whether this is a regular state.
Great coffee freindly staff.
It’s good. Gets super busy sometimes like on Sunday afternoons (line out the door). The coffee is yummy and the breakfast burritos are satisfying. They also sell some pretty good pastries. I would go here nearly every day if I could afford it, probably. I can see myself sitting here on many nights and afternoons.
My fiancé and I just moved to Oxford and knew we had to try Kofenya as soon as possible. It paid off. The espresso alone was impressive and I can tell my cappuccino was steamed with care. The baristas were kind and happily told me what espresso blend they were currently running. In addition, I was told that single origin espresso is coming soon! That's always exciting news. The low price was a nice surprise, as well. Overall, my little third-wave coffee brain was at peace at Kofenya. Will be back.
Great Coffee, Great Price, Great Atmosphere! I got so much work done sitting out front.
Great coffee....place to sit and relax or sit and catch up with friends or sit and work...over a cup of coffee. Breakfast is also available
I like Kofenya, but the place is pretty filthy and hasn't improved over the last year that I've been coming here. Look under the tables and counters and in the corners - there's dust and bits of trash and food everywhere. The tables are always covered in hand prints, crumbs, and/or grease. Occasionally, I have come in to see something like a muffin wrapper on the floor that's still there when I return a few days later. Bathrooms are even worse. If they're not regularly cleaning the public areas, I have little confidence that they're sufficiently cleaning the kitchen, coolers, and beverage equipment on a regular basis. It's to the point that I don't order any food aside from baked goods and ask for no ice in cold drinks (ice makers get gross very fast without regular attention). I would stop coming here if there were any other option in town besides Starbucks. I'm leaving this review because I want them to do better. They source from local/semi-local roasters and generally make a good cup of coffee. I've worked in bars and restaurants in the past, and our duties always included regularly wiping tables throughout the day and substantial cleaning at close, including sweeping, mopping, spraying and wiping bathroom surfaces, moving furniture if necessary, etc. It was built into our schedule and didn't take that much time unless it was an unusually busy day. I know Kofenya has been around for a while now, so as a relatively new transplant to the area, I don't know whether it has been this bad beyond the past year. I hope the management establishes some new cleaning procedures soon.
Coffee is amazing and the atmosphere is great for people to study or read a book. Totally recommend it
