If you want to try this place, don't have anything planned for 25 mins or more . It took me 25 mins to get three medium coffees made. Was not impressed. I could have gotten dunkin' donuts for less money and less of a waite time.
Great coffee and many choices, sweet and savory, for a bite to eat!
Great bagel! Delicious sweets and pastries. So many beverage options! Plenty of alternative options. Even vegan options. A little pricy for the smaller volume of beverage. I would appreciate less dyes in the seasonal drinks.
I fell in love with tree city's lox and caper bagels. But the last one I received had so little cream cheese that I cannot believe that it wasn't done on purpose. There wasn't even enough cream cheese to cover 1/2 of 1/2 of the bagel. When I called I was told they were told to cut back on the amount of cream cheese, but the amount I received was insulting considering it cost $8. I've included a picture. If this is how they plan to treat people going forward no one should give them business.
They have a variety of drinks and the atmosphere is nice!
i love tree city! honestly my favorite thing is how often the drinks change. the first time i went, i got a snow ball latte. this past weekend i got the spring fling latte which has blueberry in it. every time i go, their coffees are amazing! i also got an asiago bagel with hummus. it was so good! they have coconut and oat milk for dairy free people. unfortunately they don’t have any gluten free food options.
I come in sometimes for a quick bite- overall great place. The cafe itself has a cute setup and the employees are all speedy and friendly. Would definitely recommend the lox bagel (maybe light on the capers!) I always seem to see the guy with long hair too. Super nice and great to chat with :) always makes my day
Best experienced during the cold winters, they have a fireplace you can gather around and warm yourself up with. It's also good in the summer (sometimes they open up the front of the cafe and have the fresh air blow through), but I'm more of a winter person. Also, great place to study for students, but that means it can sometimes get crowded.
I’m a server and have worked as a barista for many years. I don’t leave reviews like this but I needed to after how I was treated today. I walked in right before 4pm. The person working was extremely rude. I didn’t know the cafe was closing soon, since the hours on google said it is open until 5pm. The worker didn’t greet me and gave me a hostile look. They told me to wait as they went to lock the door to the cafe, making it apparent they were closed. I should’ve left then, but I didn’t. I was confused since the hours online said it closes at 5 and there was a car in the drive thru. I didn’t know. This was my second time coming here. They could’ve just communicated with me and I would’ve gotten out of there because I get it! I get annoyed when someone walks in last minute when I’m serving and about to close. I shouldn’t have ordered anything. I immediately threw my drink away because I was so disgusted with their rudeness. It’s not hard to be kind. You never know how that impacts people. I won’t be back.
Tree city coffee is very good quality coffee and the baristas usually do a great job. But last time we were there, the tables all smelled like bleach and the floors were really sticky. Also the espresso drinks we had tasted more like milk, than coffee.I always prefer local, so we'll still be back, but it was disappointing.
The costumer service was awful. There was no one in the cafe and it took 30 minutes to get our food. Once we got our food it was cold. Workers are not friendly and don’t care about customers receiving their food.
I loved Tree city for the past two years and it has great options that you don’t normally find!! However every time I have gone there recently I’ve had my order messed up. I’ve never had an issue before this year. It’s disappointing when their food is sub par and my drink is wasted because it’s coffee when i ordered tea paying $10 for a sand which no thanks!!
If your staying at the Kent State Hotel just walk down here for breakfast instead of paying double you'll get better food and great coffee for for half of what you're paying at the hotel and it's good!
Tree City's pastries are delicious and their coffee is also very good. The service workers themselves weren't bad by any means but the system for paying seemed to be having some issues. All in all they were very friendly, and the atmosphere is great for studying or chatting with some friends.
Tree City Coffee Shop in Kent Ohio is a delightful experience the owner and the staff are wonderful! They have delicious sandwiches and pastries along with fantastic coffee creations and much much more you will be happy you stopped in for your delightfully tasteful experience for your discriminating palette. Bon appétit
I love Tree City and go there regularly to study, meet friends, etc. The coffee is always great and their seasonal menus are so unique. The ONLY critique I have is that the manager (?) is sometimes in and audibly criticizing the young employees and it kind of kills the vibe.
The coffee was great as usual but we got bagel sandwiches and they were horrible. The bagels were cold, not toasted, the cheese wasn’t even melted, and the slivers of bacon were on the same 1/8 of the sandwich. Definitely will not order sandwiches again.
May need to invest in upgrading your drive-thru speaker system. Your staff member had trouble hearing orders. Thankfully she persisted and had me repeat my order multiple times so she could get it correct (which she did). Kudos for her persistence and patience.
Got an egg and cheese bagel sandwich and a hot cappuccino. Both were prepared quickly and were delicious!
I love Tree City, the coffee is always hot and fresh and the pastries are to die for. Their scones are the best around! Also, the staff is always friendly so thank you to them! Highly recommend 💗
