Stauf's in Grandview has been a favorite place for many years. The coffee is great along with their wide variety of meals and treats. There is also an amazing selection of beans!!
Stauf's gets by on their reputation, but there is a lot of room for improvement. The employees are not that friendly. Some don't greet you at all? They just stand there. It's very awkward and uncomfortable. It's also always way too warm in here. They never have any blueberry bagels. The bagel sandwich is very dry. They desperately need to remodel. It's past time. I heard a rumor that Grandview residents protested when they suggested doing it previously, but who knows if that's true. Regardless, it needs to be done. They have a sign about their wobbly tables. The booths are ripped. The walls are empty. The pastry case and bagel storage are way past their prime. The lighting is jarring. The menu needs to be redone. Victorian Village has a beauty of a shop, and Grandview has this inferior eyesore with grumpy employees. Also, if you want people to line up in a certain spot then redesign your store in such a fashion instead of yelling commands in my ear! It's not welcoming! Come on. Now just start making some homemade syrups, offer glassware, and do a nice remodel, and it will be good to go.
Good coffee, some of the food is a bit hit or miss. Folks are friendly
If you are coming here for “Specialty coffee and roastery” experience you better look somewhere else. I visited 2 locations with the same experience. Very very disappointing. The coffee I make with my HOME espresso machine tastes way better honestly. Milk is over steamed and over frothy. Espresso is too bitter and over extracted. We got both iced and hot drinks and both were disappointing. It’s just so sad for a place with so much potential to miss training their employees and fail to hire a real barista!
Good food, good service, solid atmosphere, and decent prices.
I only met a friend for coffee and conversation l It was nice and peaceful.
Since moving to Columbus I’ve been trying the different coffee shops and this sadly was my least favorite so far. I didn’t find the coffee to be extremely smooth and the service was not the nicest but the Vice was fine and I’m still curious about all the whole beans to choose from.
Their roaster moved to the Franklinton neighborhood on Glenwood. I used to be a fan of Stauf's. Have been to Grandview spot a few times. Really good coffee, etc. Now Stauf's roaster is my neighbor, and i will no longer buy anything from them, unless they become a better neighbor. I guess they thought that opening a roaster, that releases odors of acrid , burned chocolate/toast smell into the air , would be better in a poor neighborhood. No way Granview would allow it. East Franklinton and all the Gravity apartments would complain, so they moved. West Franklinton - it's just a residential neighborhood without the connections of major developers around. I currently can't open my windows for fresh air as acrid, burned smell permeates everything and makes me cough. A better air filtration in the roaster would probably solve it - but I guess they don't care.
This place is a classic. The different flavor of coffees that they offer are A+. I get excited every time I go to either try a new one or have the opportunity to purchase one that I love. Their egg and bacon breakfast sandwiches are superb!
I haven't been here in years and was just as good as I remembered. Wish I got to this part of town more.
It's a very popular and busy coffee place, so if you go during a particularly busy stretch you may not be able to find anywhere to sit. But that speaks volumes about how good their coffee is and what a nice place it is to go hang out or catch up on work.
Coffee house roasting their own beans and offer their house brand coffee drinks, baked goods and light food. Good place near Ohio state university.
Best coffee shop in Cbus. Great coffee, great ambience, great service. Food is generally good, as well, but zucchini soup lacked personality. Won't order it again.
Great coffee shop!! Got to bring my doggie and sit outside, don’t think I can bring him inside but my sister when and got me some tea, lovely location and drinks!
A great coffeehouse, fantastic food, great coffee, a huge selection, over 50 different types of beans and you can have them ground and take home ,really cool place to hang out definitely one of the top coffee houses I’ve ever been to.
This is my all-time favorite coffee shop in the area. This place is a must stop for some delectable coffee and baked goods. The staff put the quality of their coffee above all other shops in the area. I am very specific about my cup of Joe, and they make sure they brew their espresso in a very professional manner. The food is out of this world. I love the barista's passion for coffee. Overall extremely pleased!
Stauf's is one of my favorite coffee shops in Columbus! There are so many great options of food and drinks to choose from. They are accommodating to people with dietary restrictions as they have alternative milk options available and vegetarian and gluten free options. Physically, there is a parking lot directly behind Stauf's that connects through to the front of the building and the path is completely flat, making it accessible. There are also some parking spots in front of Staufs on the street and ramps available to get onto the sidewalk. There is a slight incline to get into the through the door, but there is a ramp to get inside. The doorway and walkways between tables can be tight, which makes the space difficulty to navigate if an individual is using a wheelchair, crutches, walker, cane, or another form of assistance to move about the space. The menu is posted behind the counter in large font. The staff at Stauf's are always kind and happy to help if a customer would need help reading the menu or getting their drink or another item. While the space does present some potential accessibility issues, the staff are very kind and would do their best to create accommodations. I highly recommend Stauf's to everyone!
I’ve been going to this Stauf’s since I was a kid and love it but I called today and kindly asked if I could chat with someone about donations because I’ve been told they partner with nonprofits a lot and a very rude man replied “yea yea bye” and hung up on me! Very unprofessional. I get not wanting to support a cause but to do so like that was uncalled for.
Awesome menu! Big choice of house roasted coffee.
My only complaint is how crowded the place gets, but that's because it's so good! Their bacon cheddar scones are so good that I had to find a copycat recipe to get my fix for days I don't have time to stop by. Great spot to hang and do some work or reading, assuming you can find a seat.
