Rost’s sweet potato hash was my favorite!! I have always loved going to Rost. Ordering my personally made coffee and sweet potato hash. My last visit to Rost (last week), ordered our typical Cubano and sweet potato hash. The coffee was poured from a pitcher and the sweet potato hash was gross. The sweet potato hash should be changed to mash. No longer included peppers, the sweet potatoes tasted like they were made in a big pot with red paste versus in a pan when ordered. The coffee was literally poured from a pitcher. The prices were still high except now, you’re not getting personalized food/drink when ordered- your just getting it dipped out of pre-made batches. The quality has decreased greatly and the price has only increased. Do not recommend.

Not much variety on the food menu. Also, the owner is pretty rude.

I drive an hour and a half to get to Rost and I do it frequently. The coffee and the atmosphere are worth the trip. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about their coffee; I’ve never asked a question they can’t answer. Pictured here is the creme-bru-tado. I’m not sure if it’s made it on the permanent menu yet, but fingers crossed that it does. That caramelized sugar though. 😍

Awesome vibe, awesome service and even better people. You cannot find better coffee in the area, or in 3 counties for that matter. What they do here is completely different than what you're buying when you go to any other shop. It's top notch quality stuff is what I'm saying, so if you like burnt, 6 month old coffee grounds then this isn't the place for you. The food is pretty excellent as well and it's a spot you can totally kick it for long periods of time.

The coffee I had was a butter coffee I was told to get from a local. I honestly did not like it at all. I got something to eat, but did not really like it either. I would come back again and try it, I am sure there are some hidden gems. The atmosphere is the cool thing about this place. If I lived in this town, I would bring my laptop and work here frequently for the atmosphere. Will update review next time I try this place!

Expensive for what it is. I'm not sure what makes a muffin $4.50. It was just a blueberry muffin. But I like the collective idea.

Great coffee! I had Brazilian coffee, which was a pour-over. Excellent. Could have been a tad bit stronger though.. Great over easy eggs. 👌

Small yet great selection of hand crafted drinks with a hipster atmosphere **6 years later update** I miss the original store. Narrow, quiet, intimate space with creaky wood floors. The newer built building completely changed the atmosphere. Now it's an airy open-ceiling garage and extremely loud because of this. This change, plus the owner being a covid denier, have killed the vibes. Still one of the best options in Chillicothe (to go) ***Additional Update*** I wish no ill will on others. I may have been wrong with my usage of "covid denier". I have distinct memories of conspiratorial posts on the owner of this establishment's public Facebook page. Additionally, during the height of the pandemic, the staff were wearing masks while working behind the counter, but not the owner. The owner of a local business built and centered around community, an owner that can be seen there daily or near daily, is not separate from their business. I have shared my perception of this coffee shop in this review as it as changed. I also still have memories of the owner and his beautiful family spending time in the shop, sharing pleasant conversations five, six years ago. I'll hold on to those.

Got a London Fog, which I've gotten before from here, the guy taking my order didn't bother to ask if or how I wanted it sweetened and as a result I had to use whatever was on hand at the do it yourself table which didn't have much to choose from so i ended up having to wait until I got home to sweeten it. Just to note i usually have a better experience here so this incident is not typical.

We lived in Chillicothe for four years and Rost was our go to coffee spot! Everything was so tasty and we seriously knew we had a gem. Since we moved back to Tennessee, we still get Rost sent to our house through the coffee subscription and it’s just so nice to have a little piece of Chillicothe every morning.. and afternoon.. and all the other times of day we drink coffee. We have even shared it with some of our friends here and they have said it’s the best coffee they’ve ever had. We miss you, Rost!!

This is such an incredible place! Just went for the first time a few weeks ago and I've already been back 5+ times. I was so surprised to find a place like this in Chiilicothe. The atmosphere is very unique and comfy and the drinks are amazing. I'm a huge fan of their Matcha lattes, especially when iced; and their signature drinks, particularly the Brown Butter, are amazing. I haven't managed to make it in early enough to try out the food yet (served until 2PM), but I'm definitely looking forward to trying it out some time.

Atmosphere and coffee are my favorite things here, you won't find another location in town that equals these 2 things. Even spoke with an individual one time that was relocating halfway accross the country and was worried because they knew they couldn't get their Rost coffee. It's that good. I feel like one day they may just be featured as one of the top places to visit in Ohio kinda thing.
