Great local coffee shop!
The coffee was delicious, and the service and atmosphere were great. I would have given 5 stars, but they close at 3pm which is very inconvenient. I've wanted to return here several times, but I'm never able to because they are always closed. Most people don't even get off from work until 3pm, so unless you're a student, work at night or have a job that requires you to drive around town, good luck being able to visit here maybe once a week on one of your days off in addition to your responsibilities outside of work. If they were open later I'd probably come here 3 times a week for coffee after work.
This is my new favorite coffee shop in Akron to get some work done. The atmosphere is calm but friendly. The music is great, it isn't too loud nor is it distracting. The temperature is also ideal, far too many shops are just slightly too cold but that isn't an issue here. 10/10 Absolutely recommend!
I love Portal West! The owner is great, the baristas are incredibly friendly, and the coffee is smooth and balanced. There is a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, but it does get busy at times (which is great for their business, I’m sure!). Very calm and relaxing environment. I’ve personally had some lattes and cortados; all have been spectacular. My husband enjoys the pour over options.
It was my first visit. Staff were willing to share the menu and personal favorites. I will go back soon!
Best coffee in Cleveland/NEO. Sweeter Northern Italian roast. Owner is engaging and kind. Cafe is clean and comfortable. Love it.
Independently owned shop with a lovely staff who can help you navigate which blend, roast, or tea will be right for you. It's a great spot to enjoy your beverage over conversation with a friend or to spend some time working remotely. It is a hot spot and gets busy in the mornings and most of the day on weekends, so plan accordingly. This place is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood and I look forward to visiting often!
Phenomenal. Staff are all super friendly and really know their stuff. I love that there’s such a great quality place in the Valley now. It was definitely lacking. Great coffee whether a pour over, cold brew, or espresso n milk drink is your style. Excellent pastries as well. They always keep the Liquid Deaths on deck too which is always the move. So glad they popped up here. My only complaint is that I wish they opened a few years earlier :)
Elite third-wave coffee has landed in the valley. Paulista’s Portal West is an artesian expression sublimely aligned with the grand creator’s vision of what the coffee cherry can become. Surely the ancient caffeine-addicted goats of Ethiopia bleat with joy from the heavens above at this new addition to the community. One will enter the Portal and leave redeemed of their sins of sipping Folgers from styrofoam cups, and cleared from residual liquid carbon from satan falls. Come here for a trifecta of loving service, beautiful latte art, and coffee and tea drinks that will reawaken your sleeping palette. Have a mocha for the art and chocolate warmth. Enjoy a pour over of the single origin offering to rediscover the flavor of coffee and the nuances of origin. And then there’s the teas served in multicolor dreams. It’s time to treat yourself.
1,000% recommend this coffee shop! They have the friendliest baristas who know what they’re doing. Best atmosphere, best drinks (Blue Dream is my go-to 😍) and the place has a great community feel. Check it out if you haven’t and you’ll immediately see what I mean.

The coffee is great, I bought the bagged coffee, I really like it. It's fresh and delicious. I like to get the golden turmeric or the mathca green. But I can't wait to try more as I'm sure it's of the highest quality and made with utmost care and love.
I liked the coffee, the cute area, and the barista's were great! Only problem that I had while there was they don't have a changing station in the bathroom. I had to change my daughter on my lap while I sat on the toilet. The bathroom is tiny so I understand they can't get one in there. I would come again but I can't bring my child there.
This place has obviously been meticulously thought out. From the drinks and food to the energy and atmosphere. The staff is incredibly kind and takes pride and care in what they do. This is definitely my favorite cafe in the region. Nothing else comes close.
High quality coffee with a relaxed local vibe.
Interesting flavors, great coffee, and very pleasant staff and atmosphere. I've never had a lavender latte this good! And the menu is small, but besides the classics, there are unique options you won't find anywhere else. My only complaint has nothing to do with the company just the building, and that is that the location is not accessible for people with disabilities. The stairs were hard for me as someone with RA, and I can't recommend this amazing shop to many of my friends because they can't get to it.
Really cute, modern and nice change from basic coffee chains. Love the local art too.
