Food was decent. Ordered shrimp and grits but I wasn’t thrilled, so I switched it to grilled cheese with fries. I may stop in again to try their deserts.
Walked in and was seated immediately. 2 servers walked by our table and we were never acknowledged while someone was seated after our party and was served right away. Very rude!
The food was very vanilla! Cardboard probably has more flavor. The waitress was very nice and attentive, she was the best thing about the experience.
Midtown has always had great desserts but, they also have other items on their menu. Yesterday I had breakfast and it was very good. Our server's name was Abby. Having Abby as a server made "Midtown Cafe" a premier eatery. Our food was cooked to perfection. Abby gave us great service even after, my daughter became disoriented and fell out of her chair. Abby checked on her and brought some fruit and a slice of bacon, a sausage link. My whole experience was better because of Abby. My Wife, Daughter and Grandson want to thank Abby and the Midtown Cafe and Dessertery
My son lives in Winston Salem and brought me here the first. The is fantastic and I Love how friendly the staff and they made suggestions. I live in New York. This is my favorite new place. Rene

Great place and very busy. Places aren't busy when they aren't good, so that says a lot. I love all of the deserts they offer, but I have to go easy on the sugar. It's worth going to if you are in the area or aren't, but are looking for something new.
Great Cafe to have lunch and desert. Excellent staff and clean environment. The soup and salad are very filling. The turkey sandwich you can't eat it all its so big. Pancakes and hashbrowns anytime of the day. Great times!
Reliably good breakfast spot!
Wanted a omelet with 1 pancake. That wasn't allowed. Didn't like that. Most restaurants will do 1 pancake. Both tables beside me had there pancakes brought on separate plate. But mine were on the plate with omelet. Got separate plate. Pancakes were warm at best. Set near kitchen and very loud. Not a good experience. Doubt I'll return.
The deserts great, service great, but food has no flavor it’s extremely bland.
Midtown is our go-to date night, Sunday lunch, dessert on a Friday evening spot! We have always had impeccable service and the menu will never leave you disappointed. Faves are sweet potato pancakes, Spicy Grit Bowl and chocolate chip cheesecake just to name a few.
I found this place on a gluten free app we use. Both of my kids have Celiac Disease and can not eat gluten. This restaurant was reported to have a gluten free menu and safe preparation practices. The GF menu is quite good. We ordered a sandwich with a GF bun and my daughter ordered a burger with a GF bun. We were also there with a couple of other people. Our food came out and fortunately I noticed that my daughter’s bun looked very different from the sandwich bun. And it had sesame seeds on it. I haven’t ever seen a gluten-free bun with sesame seeds. I asked our waitress and she said “well I wrote GF on the ticket.” took the plate and walked away. She brought a new burger on a GF bun and just set it down and asked if we needed anything else. There was no apology or feeling of an understanding that this was a serious issue. Seemed to be just an inconvenience to her. If you have any kind of food allergy or sensitivity, I would think twice about eating here.
Just looking for a place nearby when we had to come to Baptist and ran across this little gem, strongly suggest the grilled Reuben, fries tomatoes were one of my fav appetizers EVER the sauce they come with is awesome. Chicken fajita wrap was good too, we also had many dessert, the spice cake was my personal favorite...the bread pudding was a bit of a letdown IMO. Great place overall, we'll be 🔙.
This Place is Awesome! The Staff is SO Pleasant and Helpful About Suggestions. Knowledgeable About the Food on the Menu and What Goes With What. The Food Was Delicious and Prices are Very Reasonable. I Got Moravian Chicken Pie and it Came With Salad and a Fruit Cup! The Raspberry Vinaigrette Salad Dressing is Delicious! Added Bonus for Breakfast Lovers... Breakfast on the Menu is Served Anytime!! Service was GREAT and Our Food Came Pretty Fast! The Atmosphere is Very Pleasant and Spacious. They Have Fantastic Desserts. They are in Glass on Display as You Walk in. My Experience Here Was Wonderful and I Will Definitely be Back! 5 Stars!
Great service and food. It was crowded but all good restaurants are. I will return to try to Pumpkin pancakes.
Had lunch here today! All I can say is top notch! They were busy but had an amazing system in play to seat folks which allowed us to wait in our vehicle. Was absolutely worth the wait. Waitress was perfect!!! Food was hot, cooked to order, and delicious!!!! Definitely will be back more often! A+ 💯 no complaints! Other area restaurants could learn some things from yall 👌
We had brunch on a very busy Sunday morning. The staff was pleasant and efficient. The food was excellent and the portions were large. The restaurant is small but tables and booths are well placed.
My grandson has severe food allergies. They take our concerns seriously. Food is always delicious. Service always impeccable.
Food was ok. HOT CHOCOLATE was amazing! Pancakes were good but very thick.. would definitely come again. As I have on the past. They always had a great chili!
