Stopped by today but it was closed despite the fact that Google says it’s open. Looked pretty cool inside but unfortunately we were not able to go in.

What can I said best bakery in North Carolina amazing husband and wife. She makes the pineapple cake just like my aunt (R.I.P) used to make it, it's crazy how a cake can take you back in time when you were a child. Defenely a stop for all locals and tourists to see. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.

The owners were so friendly and kind! We really enjoyed looking around the shop. The desserts looked delicious and the whole place smelled so yummy and inviting. Great place to buy local gifts.

The best home made desserts ever!! My husband and I shared a piece of cheesecake with blueberry topping, and my girls shared a peace of pecan pie. It was so hard to choose! The store is adorable and the husband and wife are delightful! We cannot wait to go back!!

Went by 4 different times during their listed hours and they were not open. Bummer. Their Facebook page is now defunct. I think they must have closed at least temporarily. They should really edit their hours online and post a sign at the building.

My husband and I stopped in today. I promise you,we'll be back during our stay through October. The lady there is baking homemade pies and cobblers that should be winning awards everywhere!!! Super friendly owners with great customer service! What a gem you have here! If you ever have the chance to stop in, please do yourself a favor. The coffee and Ice Cream also looked and smelled Delicious!!

Nice little place we stopped in for some coffee and cake Unfortunately coffee does something to me and they have no facilities or bathrooms so we had to drive several miles down the road For bathrooms The food and coffee was good But the Lack of a bathroom left a bad experience in Our minds Return possibility would be poor recommendation would be poor

Freshly make pies & cobblers, LR Mercantile is a regular stop for us after hiking Linville Falls, Elk River, etc. Peach Cobbler a la mode is my go-to, but other pies I've tried are excellent.

This place was amazing the owners were very friendly. I had a pineapple upside down cake it was the best I've ever had. I bought a jar of strawberry rhubarb jelly that was excellent as well. They had a lot of different desserts on the shelves all homemade. Will stop again when in the area.

The best ice cream around! They also have amazing homemade deserts and an assortment of merchandise. The storefront is right on a curve and comes up quickly. If you don't keep an eye out you'll miss it but definitely worth a visit!

Stop in if you are lucky enough to catch them open. Their current hours are Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. We had ice cream - chocolate fudge, butter pecan, pistachio and black cherry. I assure you that they are better than any you can buy in the grocery store. And they have other flavors, shakes and banana splits. We also brought home some coconut cake. Yum! They have an eclectic selection of antique glassware, cookbooks and other stuff to browse through. Sit on the porch and enjoy your delicious treat.

Stopped by Sunday afternoon, Aug 15 and it was definitely open...and definitely worth the stop. We got a piece of cake with whipped cream icing, delicious, and a blondie that was as good as anything I've ever tasted. We will stop by again.

I can not properly review this place only because I drove here on a Sunday, online it said open, but when I got there it said closed. Mismatch of information and very dissapointing when you have to drive.
